Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.
One of the BEST shows this season, Willie was awsome in this show. He lived up to his name, my wife and I had a really good time ,the people were freinly and the Casino was was realy nice to us.
Willie was amazing in concert. He performed all our old favorites with the usual "Willie" style. It was great to see him still in action! He really touches a chord with his fans. His sister was on piano and really gave a family feel to the evening. It was also fun to see fans of all ages in the audience. All singin along with Willie.
The entire venue was fantastic. The weather was perfect. The crowd was great and Willie was awesome!!! first time we had been to an outside concert. We really enjoyed ourselves. the Beer cost too much so we didn't drink any we waited and went to a bar afterwards where it was cheaper. The only thing that we had tried to do a couple of weeks before the concert was to rent a room and none was available. But my boyfriend had gotten a flier in the mail to get a room for $39. and we couldn't use it. The girls kept on trying to get us to come thru the week. No one has time thru the week with work and family.
Willie is a classic, I have seen him four times and every time was unbelievable.
The concert was predictably typical Willie. I liked the venue and the current tour set list. Willie did a fine job once again! I always have fond memories of listening to a Stardust casette tape while sipping cheap bourbon at The University of Alabama back in 1982.
really great show and now he has his whole family in on the act saw him last year at bonaroo and in this show he was doing the shuffle. He's not getting around well at all. See him while you can after the show he zooed out in his bus. Great small place for a concert
Willie is so classy. His voice is so strong. I love his rythm. Do not miss seeing this Legend before it's too late.
I have wanted to see Willie for at least 30 years. It was all I had anticipated and more!
Its Willie Nelson!!! Not much more to say. The setting was perfect. The weather was perfect. The concert was perfect.
Willie put on one of the best - if not THE best - show I have seen! His interaction with he audience was great and the fact that he threw scarves and hats into the audience was unbelievable (even though I wasn't fortunate enough to get one!). The backdrop and stage were very impressive. In all, I was able to mark off another "to do" on my bucket list! Now if I could just meet him in person.......
Willie has done so many unforgettable songs, that he can go quickly from one to another and keep us from getting bored. I appreciate that he has kept that beat-up guitar for all these years and he can still pick with the best of them. I think he could improve his show, though, by featuring his harmonica player more, or his sister on the piano more, or by hiring a banjo player... I like his guitar, but I would like a little more diversity.
A night under the stars with Willie. It doesn't get any better than that. Willie never disappoints the fans and is one of the most talented singers I have ever seen. He really makes me appreciate good ole' country music.
Concert was awful. We've seen Willie Nelson several times over the years - probably 15 years ago was the last time. He sang off tune and 'spoke' the words way more than he sang them. Absolutely awful!
This is not the first time that I have seen Willie Nelson in concert but it was the most memorable. I really enjoyed the fact that he had the music at its simplest form - a guitar, piano, snare drum, bass guitar, harmonica. The sound that came out of those instruments was raw and pure. I am hopeful to see him again in concert some day but if not, it was well worth the drive down to the Horseshoe.
Oh My Gosh...the man is "out of this world"! I loved every second of his concert. My only disappointment is that I didn't get a chance to get his autograph or a kiss on the cheek. I absolutely adore Willie Nelson. He is the GREATEST singer & will be the BEST there ever is. No one else could come close to Willie Nelson. My only dream is to meet Willie face to face. I had just turned 39 years old a couple of weeks before his concert & my husband took me to his concert for my birthday. Even though I didn't get his autograph or meet him face to face, just seeing him from a distants in person was amazing. Maybe I'll get another chance again oneday. It only took me 39 years to get to go to one of his concerts!!! I love you Willie Nelson!!!

Incredible concert from one of the pioneers of outlaw country! A little disappointed that he did not sing "Big Booty", but overall amazing!
Wonderful to see a legend. Loved all the old songs. The acoustics at this venue were incredible.......best I've ever heard at an outdoor event.
Having been a Willie Nelson fan for a long time I was very excited to see him in person for the first time at Horseshoe Casino. He was as good as I hoped. He doesn't have the voice for singing that he did when he was younger but the true fans that were there understand that he is 74 years old and is still amazing! The crowd showed their love for him. And if his voice is weaker you cannot say the same for his guitar playing! He can rock an acoustic guitar like no one else. Loved it!! If you get a chance to go see this living legend you will definitely get your money's worth.
I have always wanted to see him and was not disappointed! His music is timeless!
