    Overall Good Event

    by Clay on 8/20/23

Attended Wed. Day , Wed. night, and Thursday Day Sessions. Overall good matches and good seating. Two Negatives 1) The Sound Music during Breaks was way too loud and transmitted to adjacent courts which was disruptive to players and fans. 2) Several matches on the Grandstand should have been scheduled on Center Court as they were not available to a large amount of fans.

A great day at the W&S Tournament!

    by TomS on 8/20/23

It is a beautiful venue, and the tennis play was outstanding! Prices have gotten higher for food and refreshments, but still reasonable. What a wonderful time my spouse and I had!

    Tennis Heaven

    by Chrissie on 8/20/23

Absolutely loved my two day adventure at the Western & Southern Open Tennis Tournament in Cincinnati. It was a class event, as usual. However, I did miss the individual vendor booths this year. There was always such a nice variety of vendors and so enjoyed picking up things for myself and fellow tennis lovers. Hopefully, they’ll bring some back for next year’s tourney.

    Starting to Go Down

    by Ken on 8/20/23

12th year attending. Price for a soda was $6. If you want a shirt the cheapest we found was $49 for a Tshirt. Tennis Point lost the point. If you’re in Center Court you have to show your ticket EVERY SINGLE TIME you enter. I stopped going to the bathroom but then decided to stop going to center court. Lastly I don’t know who does court schedules but they need a class on popularity of players. Monday night they scheduled two Russian female players on center court and aside from the workers there were less than 50 people watching. More popular players were on outer courts. Yes, sometimes doubles is better than two obscure players. H

    Great Tennis, Best Venue

    by DM on 8/20/23

We always enjoy the Western & Southern Open. It’s an incredible venue that attracts the top players. We had so much fun this past week. The tennis was exciting; the food was great, although expensive; the stands, grounds, and restrooms were spotless. We will be back! And we hope the Western & Southern Open will not move from Mason, OH.

Could have been so much better

    by AGF on 8/20/23

Open at 9:00 rather than 10:00 like in previous years. Practices are fun to watch and where did the merchandise vendors go? Court scheduling was ridiculous. I was there on Wednesday and Thursday. On court 4 which holds about 1000 seats Zverev, Rudd, DeMenar, and Rune were scheduled one right after the other. You can imagine the congestion of fans trying to get in and out of the court. Disastrous. You had Mevedev playing Zverev on Thursday in the grandstand. Center court was empty. Folks fighting trying to get seats to the men’s match. Food lines were forever long. Sell burgers under center court like you use to for a quick bite. You did sell Philly cheese steaks under center court but you ran out of meat. $5 for a plastic cup of ice? Seriously! You have two hands of food trying to enter center court and they want to see your ticket on your phone? Really why not stamp your hand first time you enter. I believe there was no limit to grounds passed on the two days I was there. The venue could not handle the crowds. I’ve been coming to this tournament probably 15 years. This is the first time I’m questioning returning.

    New experience

    by Cat on 8/20/23

This was our first tennis tournament so I didn't know what to expect. I have watched tennis on the tv all my life but this year we decided to go. We traveled just shy of 500 miles. I loved the size of the tournament. Parking was easy with minimal waits. The food was good but lines were long during peak times. The tennis viewing was excellent. You can really see everything. It was fun to walk around and see the practices and the tennis on outer courts. My only criticism is the Porsche court has too many sounds coming in, the live music and the center court, it would be hard for a player but also for a fan. Random praise for the bathrooms, the venue did an excellent job maintaining them. They were as clean in the eve as they were in the morning. Grateful for that! Lastly, only disappointment was the retirements, I don't know if that is a function of the time of the season and prepping for the US open. It seemed like there were more than usual?! I would definitely think about returning.

    Fantastic, tennis fans dream.

    by Daron on 8/20/23

The ability to see multiple matches, on smaller courts, with a single ticket purchase, was outstanding.

    Cancellation policy

    by Jill on 8/20/23

Monday’s evening session was canceled due to weather - because I bought a mini series I am not getting a refund or a ticket for the following year same session - that is unfair. It was an evening session I had to pay for that in my mini series package, and there should be some consideration applied to those of us who bought mini series.

Local seems to have left the event.

    by Rick on 8/20/23

While the tennis was great, and the players are amazing. I was disappointed that the small businesses that had always frequented the event in the past were missing this year. That is what always gave the event its special character. I hope you will consider bringing back the smaller vendors. See you next year.
