Walter Trout has been nothing short of prolific over the course of his seven decades on this Earth. He’s released 30 solo albums over a career that has spanned the globe, and delivered notoriety as one of the great purveyors of the blues and blues rock. Trout's history is equal parts thriller, romance, suspense and horror. There are musical fireworks, critical acclaim and fists-aloft triumph, offset by wilderness years, brushes with the jaws of narcotic oblivion, and the survival of an organ transplant few come back from.

When Trout walked away from the John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, he embarked on a solo career that has yielded a catalogue that has established a deep legacy in the world of Blues, Americana, and the realm of revered singer-songwriters. While many would slow down as they get older, Trout continues to deliver inspired recordings, performances, and a voice that articulates relevant ideology and insights in to The World that inspires his deep perspective. There’s no autopilot emanating from Walter Trout, but a true a sense of growing momentum, elements of surprise, and repertoire that continues to be more compelling with each new creation.

    Beautiful place, great show

by E on 11/11/21Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

Loved the show and what a beautiful setting. Coming again very soon (already have tickets). I had bar seat this time and was lucky to sit at end of bar where you can see the stage. A slight drawback is that the seat map does not show any partition wall between general concert seating and bar seating...turns out there is a wall with open windows. Some folks at the bar were not so lucky to have full view of the stage. I think the map needs updating and/or the bar seats should be a little less than the stage seating... Other than that highly recommend Jimmy's!!!!

    Excellent Venue and Show

by crcoll58 on 11/11/21Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Walter Trout's homecoming to Collingswood, NJ was fantastic. The entrance screening for vaccination status was seamless and the show itself was amazing. The opening act - hometown "boys" The Jackson Taylor Band should soon be out on the blues circuit, probably headlining their own shows. The Scottish Rite Auditorium is a cozy, intimate venue to see a show. The only negative was Walter was getting feedback from a local radio station through his amplifiers.

    Beautiful Venue

by Ron S on 11/10/21Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

We really enjoyed the Walter Trout show at Jimmys Jazz Club. It was our first time at the club and it was very impressive. Very comfortable with padded chairs and larger than most jazz club tables. Friendly service and even thought about an easy way to signal your server if you needed them. We'll definitely return to try their dinner service as well.

    Excellent Performance, but...

by Mr. Joey Black on 11/10/21Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

Walter and all those who played that evening were fantastic! However, the volume was far too loud for this size of this club, Jimmy's on Congress. That volume was perfect had they been playing at Fenway Park, but when it takes 24 hours for your ears to stop ringing, way to loud. Actually, the extreme volume took away from the quality of the music, especially when Walter was singing. You could not understand a word of the song. Anyway, I'd go to see another performance; but, I'll take along some indiscreet ear plugs, just in case.

My wife said to me "I like blues".

by Darryl on 11/9/21Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

My wife and me have been patrons of the Scottish Rite for many years. We've seen quite a few notable performers over the years many of whom were jazz or R&B artists. I wanted to give her a gift and seeing the Walter Trout performance on the events listing for 2021 I purchased the tickets. The show was outstanding! We had an awesome time. Thank you for broadening my horizons to include "the blues". Keep'em coming!

    Totally awesome!

by LisaL53 on 11/8/21Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

I had never seen Walter Trout perform before. I heard his name on SiriusXM Bluesville in the past. I originally bought John Mayall tickets, but he cancelled due to health concerns. Walter Trout was the replacement headliner. From the moment he started, until he finished 2 hours later, he and his band were electrifying. He was backed up by a great keyboard player i had seen before at a Buddy Guy concert, and his bass player that night was from John Mayalls band, Greg Rzab. He was amazing. I recommend this show to anyone. The venue, The Scottish Rite Auditorium, is always great.

    Not John Mayall

by Rob on 11/8/21Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

I understand "the show must go on," and I made the trip in good faith to support musicians and the venue, which is a particularly good one (Scottish Rite Auditorium, Collingswood, NJ). Were Walter Trout opening for John Mayall, as planned, it would have been worth the trip. Trout is not a headliner. The best thing about his set was Greg Rzab, John Mayall's bass player, who I suspect was also in the position of wanting the "show to go on," since his front man, at 88, could not longer meet the demands of a tour. The opening act for Walter--a Collingswood high school band that might have won the battle of the bands despite their drummer's inability to keep the beat--was embarrassing. It's nice to be watching live music again, but the risks as well as the increased value of time during a pandemic have made me selective. But like I said, I've got faith. In this case, the show was not one I would have selected, had I known that whoever made the decision was going to substitute a sideman for a frontman without offering ticket holders a refund.

Was reseated to pit area. Very nice of them. The show was great! Both Walter trout and opening act were from collingswood. Very disappointed that John mayall canceled again. My main reason for attending the show! Still enjoyed both groups.

Walter Trout is back in so many ways!

by PaulD on 6/21/21Adler Theatre - Davenport

Walter Trout's first live show in over 16 months was his strongest in 3 years. Still recovering after the 2014 liver transplant, the road was long and required much work and sacrifice from Walter and his family and wife Marie. I saw him twice in the summer of 2013 when he had lost much weight, but not his guitar skills. He did not return to the stage (Royal ALbert Hall, what a STAGE!) until 2015 and I have seen him 3 times since. Every time he was stronger and better. But this appearance marked his full recovery. The show featured several songs which he played for the first time, cutting sessions with his tour manager and Chris Avery, and TWO songs with members of the opening act, the Avery Grouws Band. Clearly, Walter and the band were having a lot of fun being back on stage and all in attendance joined into fun.

Walter Trout at Ocean City Music Pier

by Ozwald on 8/23/19Ocean City Music Pier - Ocean City

Walter played great no disappointment there. A little disappointed by the venue. Too many square people for my taste. And really should have a bar and resteraunt and it would be great. Loved the ocean view, beach, and boardwalk.

    The Best of the Best

by E. L. on 8/23/19Ocean City Music Pier - Ocean City

Walter Trout is one the greatest not-so-well-known blues guitarists ever, and this show proved that! Even playing with a broken and unusable pinkie finger on his left hand, he was masterful on the guitar. Every song played as a jam with passion (including his soulful voice and personality)! To top that off, because he was playing for the first time in his birth town of Ocean City, he brought his entire family with him and had 2 of his 3 sons joining him on stage with their own guitar and vocal prowess - the apple did not fall far from the tree. Truly an amazing concert and my candidate for best concert of the year!

    Freakin' Awesome!!!

by Stephen on 8/23/19Ocean City Music Pier - Ocean City

First of all, Vanessa Collier was AMAZING! Just the courage and confidence it took to perform as a duet with her, outstanding sax work, incredible vocals and even playing a dobro along with an Outstanding guitarist was INSANE!! This was Walter's 5th anniversary of his liver transplant and he waxed very sentimental throughout the concert. Ocean City, NJ is, also, his hometown, so he had plenty of stories. In between his monologues he absolutely DESTROYED his guitar!!! There's just no other way to put it. Great concert!!!
