Legendary 4x-Blues Music Award-Winning Guitarist, Singer & Songwriter WALTER TROUT is one of the greatest Blues Rock Guitarists - ever! Most recently, his song 'Just Out of Tears' won the 2021 Blues Music Award "Song of the Year". Walter has been Nominated 12 times for "Blues Rock Album of the Year" - winning the award in 2016 ('Battle Scars') and 2018 ('We're All In This Together'). Trout also won "Song of the Year" in 2016.
Walter Trout has been nothing short of prolific over the course of his seven decades on this Earth. He’s released 30 solo albums over a career that has spanned the globe, and delivered notoriety as one of the great purveyors of the blues and blues rock. Trout's history is equal parts thriller, romance, suspense and horror. There are musical fireworks, critical acclaim and fists-aloft triumph, offset by wilderness years, brushes with the jaws of narcotic oblivion, and the survival of an organ transplant few come back from.
When Trout walked away from the John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, he embarked on a solo career that has yielded a catalogue that has established a deep legacy in the world of Blues, Americana, and the realm of revered singer-songwriters. While many would slow down as they get older, Trout continues to deliver inspired recordings, performances, and a voice that articulates relevant ideology and insights in to The World that inspires his deep perspective. There’s no autopilot emanating from Walter Trout, but a true a sense of growing momentum, elements of surprise, and repertoire that continues to be more compelling with each new creation.
So much talent and energy from him and his band. I have seen him 5 times and guaranteed a great show every time.
Missed Walter's show in Sacranento so had to see him in Cincinnati on a family visit. We all enjoyed the show!
I have wanted to see him for so long ! I traveled from northern New York to Portsmouth NH for the show & was not disappointed. I would do all over again. Fabulous singer, guitarist & showman. And Jimmy Jazz & Blues Club is a great venue.
Excellent venue , excellent staff excellent food.the best venue in New England. Walter Trout is one of the best blues guitar players around. We drove 5 hours to see him worth every second.
Jimmy's Jazz and Blues is an upscale venue with a great bar and dining menu. Go Hungry and Relax. Walter Trout and his band were tight! Great Show, and a great experience!
Walter is an icon in the blues world. I'm so glad he's still sharing his gift with us. Rock on Walter!
Walter Trout put on an outstanding show as usual. I love his playing and his song writing- such a powerful combination. Walter has a line in one song that says, "when i hear the music, it hits me so hard." That is certainly the case for me with Mr. Trout's music. It hits me so damn hard. I've been recovering from serious health issues to include a recent bout with sepsis. I was a bit hesitant to leave the comfort of my home and attend a show at the Birchmere, but I felt it was important to get back out. I'm so grateful I made it to the show- I feel restored. Hearing Walter talk about his own health issues was also very powerful and inspirational. Getting older is hard. But with guys like Walter out there walking the walk, life is just a little sweeter.
This was an all star show with the great Walter Trout Tommy Castro and Deanna Bogart. They are all incredible musicians. In my opinion Walter Trout is one of the greatest blues guitar players of all time. Deanna showed her versatility on sax, keyboards and vocals. Highlight was a jam session with all 3. Incredible!
Great show at Sony Hall with Walter Trout. Music and sound awesome and Hall itself was really cool place. Looking forward to our next show there!
My husband & I go to many musical events and we are old! We have seen many throughout the years and it was our first time to Sony Music Hall and we thought it was amazing! The venue is beautiful and the staff was great. Although the area it is in is Time Square,(which I rather not be in town), it is worth it for the venue. As far as the show was, his guitar playing was increadible and I would run, not walk to go hear him. An amazing show! Few people can play blues like this but as the musicians say, he is passing one the torch to a young musician that played with him that was also increadible for his age. The whole band is truly with seeing.
