About

Celebrate the holiday season with one of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time, THE MUSIC MAN! It's 1912 and the lovable, fast-talking con man "Professor" Harold Hill arrives in River City, Iowa promising the townsfolk that he can teach the town's children how to play in a magnificent marching band if they buy uniforms and instruments from him. It's all part of a big swindle, but falling in love with the town librarian wasn't part of the deal. With classic tunes that include "Ya Got Trouble," "Goodnight My Someone," "Till There Was You," and the show-stopping "Seventy-Six Trombones," THE MUSIC MAN is an irresistible, all-American musical for the entire family!

Every year I buy my grandchildren and their parents theatre tickets for Christmas. The first family went to the matinee on November 25th and the whole family really enjoyed it. The second family will be going after Christmas. Theatre memories last a lifetime, toys last about a week. This is one of the smartest moves I've ener made!

  • Well-done, Nostalgic Show

by Linabella on 11/27/12Walnut Street Theatre - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

I attended this show with my 13 (going on 25) niece, and we both enjoyed it. Of course, it is quite old-fashioned, and I may have liked it more than she did, but it was a nice night out together. The cast was very good (especially the actress who played Marian the Librarian-what a lovely voice, face, and manner!). The sets were great and the costumes were really wonderful. We were sitting in the fourth row and they looked very beautiful, not tired at all. The dancers and orchestra were first-rate as well. The actor who played Professer Harold Hill was quite good, with an excellent singing voice, although he didn't seem to have quite as much energy as I expected in this part. He almost seemed distracted at times. Overall, I was happy to have seen the production and would recommend it!

Took my husband's parents while they were visiting for Thanksgiving. Their seats were in the front row and they couldn't stop raving about the show... the singing, the costumes, the live horse, etc. It was great to hear them bragging to the other siblings about how much they enjoyed it. My husband and I also enjoyed it... great old-fashioned musical. You will know more songs than just 76 Trombones.
