Celebrate the holiday season with one of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time, THE MUSIC MAN! It's 1912 and the lovable, fast-talking con man "Professor" Harold Hill arrives in River City, Iowa promising the townsfolk that he can teach the town's children how to play in a magnificent marching band if they buy uniforms and instruments from him. It's all part of a big swindle, but falling in love with the town librarian wasn't part of the deal. With classic tunes that include "Ya Got Trouble," "Goodnight My Someone," "Till There Was You," and the show-stopping "Seventy-Six Trombones," THE MUSIC MAN is an irresistible, all-American musical for the entire family!
Very entertaining with a wonderful talented cast. Go see it!
Great family entertainment. Voices were great and casting well done. Costumes and sets were also very well done. The whole show was a very enjoyable and entertaining evening. Thank you to all the cast for their talent and hard work.
i love this show! It had great dancing and absolutely great actors! The Music Man has never been one of my favorite shows, but after seeing this production, it just might be! I have recommended it to many people and you should definitely see it! I have seen so many quality broadway shows and even the original cast of Wicked and this show very much meets those standards! A must see!
I have always seen shows at the Walnut, and I am never disappointed!! Before I saw this production, The Music Man was not really one of my favorite musicals at all, but after seeing this, I LOVE IT! The cast is absolutely incredible and there are even about 15 kids in it!!! The dancing is incredible and so much fun!! There is a live horse and I have never seen that done in any other theatre production, even broadway!!! This show is a must see and cannot be missed!!! I wish i could go see it again!!
The acting was fabulous. The singers were great! The sets were realistic. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
The musical is excellent, although the plot development really isn't that wonderful. (It is only obliquely suggested why Marian changes her mind.) The songs are great and the show is very funny, so go see it. This is not a broadway-quality production, but the cast is very good.
Very talented cast and we enjoyed the performance! Costumes, scenery, choreography and music were right on. For us (we live 35 miles west of Philly) an earlier start time would have worked out better. It was a late night for everyone.
A real classic. Fabulous performance. Great cast. Beautiful voices. They don't write them like this anymore.
Acting singing Dancing was good , Opening scene was very entertaining. Story line slowed at times.
I love the Walnut Theatre, and am rarely disappointed with the shows I have seen at this venue. I thought this show was decent, but it just felt a little off. I wasn't crazy about either of the leads. I find it hard to accept that the lead actress played the lead in Phantom on Broadway for four years, her range seemed barely capable of The Music Man. The lead male had some nervous ticks on stage that were distracting, and his voice wasn't that great. The production value was excellent, as is always the case with The Walnut.
The Music Man was a terrific show! The acting was great and the singing was amazing. I was also very impressed with the props/backdrops. I'm still not sure how they pulled off using a real horse! I took my daughter and two of her musical theatre friends and they were inspired by the show and the talent. This is a show that everyone should see!
