The staff was warm and friendly from the ushers to the bartenders. The new seats are so comfortable! Wonderful venue!
The seats in the newly renovated theater were very comfortable and had plenty of legroom for my 6'-2", 210 pound frame! We saw the matinee "Jersey Boys". It was wonderful and we can't wait to get back to see another show.
My wife and I saw Jersey Boys for the second time. The first time was many years ago. WE enjoyed this second time immensely and are glad we saw it. The actors did a great job especially the lead who played Frankie.
I enjoyed the show, however this was not the right venue. The Walnut Street Theater and the patrons are too old and stuffy for what should be an enjoyment of this story. Saw this in New York on Broadway and the crowd went crazy, happy, singing, clapping, dancing. This was like sitting at a wake. When we did clap, we were shushed by the old fart in front of us. The actors did a good but not great job. The F-bombs were overdone and sometimes out of place. If you have seen this before no need to see it here again.
Definitely not the same as the NYC show on Broadway. Best part - the lead has a great voice to play Frankie Valli. The choreography and enthusiasm not as good as I expected. It was a very okay performance. The one on Broadway was fantastic!
Let me note this review with the fact that I have not seen this show before. I took my husband and 79 year old mother who is a huge Frankie Valli fan. The opening act had Oh What a night being sung in French causing my husband to think I bought tickets to a forwign version and my mother immediately complain she couldnt understand what they are saying. So that was kind of weird. It did switch to English a few minutes in and the scene was meant to indicate the global popularity of the music. OK. The rest of the show was good. The actor who played Frankie had a great voice and did justice to his songs. The dancing though was pretty poor. It was the most basic of moves which I guess was on point for the times but only one scene really had the perfect dance/vocals and it wasnt the Jersey boys. They just didnt seem comfortable with even the basic moves. The plot overall was good, it was neat to get more context around the meaning of some of their songs. There wasn’t much glitz or glam like broadway but the price point was also less than broadway.
From start to finish it was a wonderful night. New seats were comfy…
Loved the show and the theater was very comfortable!
Great venue. Great seats. Friendly staff. Jersey Boys is one of the best shows to see, and what better venue than the Walnut Street theater.
Always a great show at the Walnut Street theater, will return
We know not to expect too much from Walnut Street productions. Admittedly, we are theater snobs, but JERSEY BOYS holds such a special spot in our hearts, we thought Why Not ?? But the way they butchered the BIGGEST song in the show, You’re Just Too Good to Be True, was a real Crime. No Brass section walking across the catwalk, no “Frankie” sliding across the stage on his knees ?? Come on now. Please make these resivitions for future audiences. I’M Begging !!!
This was a really great performance. No complaints. The lead as well as the other 3 co-leads along with the entire cast was great.
