About

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vince Gill has become one of the most celebrated country artists of all-time, selling over 24 million albums throughout his career and winning 20 Grammy Awards, more than any other male country artist in history. In 2013, he played for ticket holders in concert across North America and the U.K. and is scheduled to tour with George Strait in 2014. Born in 1957 in Oklahoma, he learned how to play several instruments including banjo and guitar as a child and played in a bluegrass band in high school. He joined the country band Pure Prairie League in the late 1970s before leaving the group in 1982 to pursue his solo career. He put out four solo albums in the 1980s, including 1984’s Turn Me Loose and 1989’s When I Call Your Name, before releasing the double platinum 1991 album Pocket Full of Gold. His next album, 1992’s I Still Believe in You, reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and sold over three million copies with hit singles “What the Cowgirls Do” and “Whenever You Come Around.” Gill’s 1993 Christmas album Let There Be Peace on Earth also went platinum, and 1994’s When Love Finds You peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard chart, his most successful album selling over four million copies. More commercial and critical success followed with 1996’s High Lonesome Sound and 1998’s The Key, and his next five solo albums reached the country top five, including 2000’s Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye and 2006’s These Days. The Country Music Association has bestowed Gill with a total of 18 CMA Awards including two Entertainer of the Year awards and five Male Vocalist Awards, and in 2007, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

  • Incredible performance!

Over three hours of pure enjoyment! Seeing a Vince Gill concert has been on my bucket list for a very long time. His show was better than I ever dreamed it would be. Old songs, new songs, life stories, an opportunity to actually learn who he is an what makes him tick. The best of everything!

  • Wonderful - lastest 3.5 hours

by Grandma G on 8/14/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Vince Gill's voice is as great as ever! Show started on time & lastest over 3.5 hours. Don't think he missed any of his hits & sang some new songs. Band was also great. Never took a break! The Fox theater is a beautiful venue. Ushers were very helpful. Bought parking with tix. Short walk to theater.

  • Absolutely the Best!

We were so excited to hear Vince Gill was coming to Charlotte, and immediately purchased tickets. Vince puts on a most excellent show, interjecting with humorous antidotes. Love the stories about his father, so many of them remind me of my own dad. Vince played so many of his greatest hits, and introduced some that will be hits in the future. If I had one complaint being rather short, it would be offering a cushion to sit on so one would not miss any of the "action". We did have excellent seats (4th row) and I am pretty sure I didn't miss much!

  • Best Concert EVER!

by Patti, Vince Gill FAN on 8/4/25Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Best concert ever. Of course he can sing, but he is so funny too. He shared lots of personal stories that gave me insight to his songs. At 68, he performed without a break for almost 4 hours. It was amazing! He was just as strong at the end as when he started. I was blown away. Loved every single minute!

  • GREAT BUT HARD TO HEAR WORDS

    by JIM&KATHY on 8/4/25Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

I've seen Vince Gill in concert in the 90s, and he is every bit as good as he was then. However, when he sang numerous "new"songs, we could not make out the words because his mic was muffled. Also, the keyboard & guitars often drowned out the singing. Love the new guy he allowed to sing! Great song! I was disappointed that Amy has not been able to reign in the cursing. Doesn't add to the performance. Our seats were the most uncomfortable we've ever sat in. In the balcony with our knees right up against the seatbacks in front of us. Could not cross my legs and could not imagine how uncomfortable my 6'1"husband was. We both said "Never Again"to balcony seats at Ovens Auditorium.

  • Amazing!

    by S.G. on 8/4/25Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Vince was incredible! He sounded so good, he was funny and entertaining. If I had one compliant it would be that he needs to spread out the new songs. He did like a 30/40 minute section of all new and while they were good, it was just too much. But I would so go see him again. He was fantastic!!

  • INCREDIBLE

This concert (3-1/2 hours) was everything you want in a concert. Hits, new songs, old album cuts. Vince Gill is so personable and the show was fantastic! His backup band was great and we really enjoyed it!
