With their 40th anniversary at hand in 2013, legendary country band Alabama embarked on their first tour in more than a decade and released an officially endorsed tribute album titled "Alabama and Friends." The album features current country stars covering some of Alabama's country-rock classics -- including Kenny Chesney on "Lady Down on Love," Jason Aldean on "Tennessee River," Luke Bryan on "Love in the First Degree," and the Eli Young Band on "The Closer You Get" -- along with two new Alabama songs. It was a fitting tribute for the most successful band in country music history, which logged 34 singles that topped Billboard's country singles chart between 1980 and 2011 and has sold more than 75 million albums. The band's core remains the same as when it was founded in 1969, when they were known as Wildcountry: Randy Owen (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), his cousin Teddy Gentry (bass), and another cousin, Jeff Cook (lead guitar, keyboards, fiddle). By 1973, the trio had decided to pursue music full time and they signed their first record deal -- and changed their name to The Alabama Band at the label's request -- in 1977. By the '80s, the band had hit its stride, moving huge numbers of concert tickets and filling their trophy cases with multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM awards.

I have always wanted to see Alabama live. Regret not seeing them sooner. I’ve loved Randy since I was 8 years old. The show was amazing!! Loved everything about the show. The band was AWESOME!! Too bad there wasn’t a meet and greet….. that would have made the whole 1st time experience over the top. Great show Alabama, love you guys ….. and new gal lol Mrs. Owen….. you’re a great addition to the band. Lorrie Morgan was beautiful and great as well. Thanks for sharing memories of your fur baby!!! Just wonderful night altogether!!!! 10 Stars!
Love Alabama! It was a lot of ‘down home’ fun!! Very entertaining, good music. Fun crowd.
They started off slow. Randy’s guitar wasn’t plugged in, he just lightly strummed it. The energy they had is gone I feel. The female fiddle player was awesome!
I’m not sure what I was expecting but for $250 our seating was incredibly cramped even though we were on floor seats. Regardless, we were disappointed in the lethargy of the main singers. It seemed like his band was trying hard to pep him up but I really think they should have retired several years ago. It was slow, the lyrics were often muddled. We ended up leaving early. I feel bad leaving such a negative review but if I can save someone else $250 and just listen to their music or seeing a cover band would be ideal.
Outstanding show by Alabama, still the greatest ever country band. All their songs are great. They’re slowing down a little bit but they still have the touch. Opening act Lorrie Morgan was good as ever. Hope they return to Eagle Bank Arena. It’s a nice venue with great staff and amenities.
Lorrie Morgan and Alabama were great really enjoyed the concert. Eagle Bank Arena was was one of the best run venues we have been to easy in and out.
Had the best time! So glad I could take my son to experience such an iconic country band and they played all the classics we love
Great show from Lorrie Morgan and Alabama. Wish they had played #1 hit Feels So Right but I think they played everything else!
