About

ABOUT PORTUGAL THE MAN:

Over the past decade, Portugal The Man has established themselves as one of rock's most prized possessions and a live phenomenon, with over 1,600 shows under their belts and a storied reputation as festival favorites.

Originally heralding from Alaska, the Portland-based band - comprised of John Gourley, Zach Carothers, Kyle O'Quin, Eric Howk, Jason Sechrist and Zoe Manville - soared to new heights in 2017 with the release of their RIAA certified-gold album, Woodstock. The album was marked by the astounding success of their infectious single, "Feel It Still," which earned the group a plethora of new accolades - including a GRAMMY award for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance," a 6x RIAA platinum certified single certification, a mind-blowing 20-week residency at #1 on alternative radio, and an inescapable presence on the Top 40 airwaves.Alongside the shine of their myriad musical accomplishments lies the group's long-standing passion for social justice. In fact, this is precisely the intersection on which Portugal The Man thrives; throughout their career, the band has consistently exemplified how to deeply commit to both artistry and activism. This dynamic inspired them to officially launch their PTM Foundation in 2020, focused on universal issues related to human rights, community health, and the environment, with an emphasis on causes directly impacting Indigenous Peoples.

Their continued passion for activism has also led to recent partnerships with organizations such as the National Coalition Against Censorship, The Skatepark Project (helping communities build public skate parks for youth in underserved communities), March for Our Lives (Gun Reform), Keep Oregon Well (Mental Health), and Protect Our Winters (Climate Change), to name just a few.

    Can't hear

by Mindy on 5/6/24Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - Wilmington

I used to LOVE going to Greenfield Lake. I practically live there during the summer so when Live Nation took over we had high hopes for better bands, etc. They have essentially ruined the best concert venue in Wilmington. They have the opening band turned up so loud that I could feel the vibration in my chest. I had to text my husband sitting next to me because he couldn't hear me. I don't talk throughout the concert so the fact that I couldn't even tell him I was going to use the restroom is just wrong. TURN IT DOWN. I even saw one guy turn off his hearing aid. FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC, TURN IT DOWN. I went to Red Clay Strays and Portugal the Man (last Monday and Wednesday) and both were the same. INSANE VOLUME for no reason. Please, please turn it down.

Great band with great energy but unfortunately sound was off and therefore vocals were hard to hear.

    Didn’t want it to end

by Anne on 3/5/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

Portugal. The Man are better than ever. It was great to be in a room full of people who were entranced as I was, a fantastic cross between a party and a religious experience. Didn’t want it to end

I was bored at this concert

by Ronnie James Dio on 3/4/24The Anthem - Washington

This concert, for the hype that should associate it, was a let down. I’ve seen much more energy from other bands - not sure I’d go again,

    SO.FUN!! SO UNEXPECTED!!

by Curlie423 on 3/2/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

This was my first time seeing Portugal. The man and I couldn't believe how amazing the show was! They put a twist on some of the "radio songs"that are popular by slowing it down and making them heavy, but in such a good way!! I loved every song, every member and the whole vibe of the show! I would definitely see them again!!

Snacktime opened Well, Portugal. The Man, as always, played all of my favorite songs, brought in a contingent of local Native American dignitaries to remind Us of what is Important, and What an Encore Performance with PTM/Snacktime Mashup of Killing in the Name Of/ Give it Away Whoa had a great time !!!

    Face Melting Psychedelic Rock!!

by MattDurso on 3/1/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

Portugal the Man was incredible and so was their opening act Snacktime! They put on one of the best shows I have ever seen! I left feeling so satisfied I could’ve cried! Everyone was grooving and feeling good. Glad to see they are rocking harder than ever - even after nearly 20 years together. My wife and I just saw them at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester and we love that venue! There’s not a bad spot in the house. :)
