ABOUT PORTUGAL THE MAN:

Over the past decade, Portugal The Man has established themselves as one of rock's most prized possessions and a live phenomenon, with over 1,600 shows under their belts and a storied reputation as festival favorites.

Originally heralding from Alaska, the Portland-based band - comprised of John Gourley, Zach Carothers, Kyle O'Quin, Eric Howk, Jason Sechrist and Zoe Manville - soared to new heights in 2017 with the release of their RIAA certified-gold album, Woodstock. The album was marked by the astounding success of their infectious single, "Feel It Still," which earned the group a plethora of new accolades - including a GRAMMY award for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance," a 6x RIAA platinum certified single certification, a mind-blowing 20-week residency at #1 on alternative radio, and an inescapable presence on the Top 40 airwaves.Alongside the shine of their myriad musical accomplishments lies the group's long-standing passion for social justice. In fact, this is precisely the intersection on which Portugal The Man thrives; throughout their career, the band has consistently exemplified how to deeply commit to both artistry and activism. This dynamic inspired them to officially launch their PTM Foundation in 2020, focused on universal issues related to human rights, community health, and the environment, with an emphasis on causes directly impacting Indigenous Peoples.

Their continued passion for activism has also led to recent partnerships with organizations such as the National Coalition Against Censorship, The Skatepark Project (helping communities build public skate parks for youth in underserved communities), March for Our Lives (Gun Reform), Keep Oregon Well (Mental Health), and Protect Our Winters (Climate Change), to name just a few.

    Get out of the Dark

by D.O Glover on 2/27/24The Anthem - Washington

Great band- love them. They stand for good things. Great music— they need to let the audience see them! This is the second show at The Anthem where when you sit in balcony the stage is so dark you have no idea who is singing. I can imagine it’s because they may think that there are no stars — but people go to SEE Portugal the Man - they want to SEE them! Spotlights please ! Either way love this band

    Incredible performance

by Dave C on 2/27/24The Anthem - Washington

PTM is one of the most underrated artists out there. Their music is some of the best around. Incredible show had me moving from start to finish.

    High energy performance

by Dee on 2/27/24The Anthem - Washington

We loved seeing Portugal, the Man at the Anthem! They have so many great crowd pleasing songs, I loved how the opened with the indigenous tribe from Alaska singing, and it was meaningful to be welcomed. The opener and brass section kept the party going. Great show!

    Horrible show

by Nope on 2/27/24The Anthem - Washington

Started off awful, the band brought some politics to the stage which I didn’t appreciate at all because first of all I didn’t pay for a political event.

Opening act great, PTM a disappointment

by MusicLover0908 on 2/26/24The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Snacktime, opening act, was great. Very disappointed in Portugal the Man. They didn't come out until well after 9:30 (at least a 30 min lag between Snacktime and PTM). Although I am a supporter of many causes and believe in inclusivity, I don't need a lecture on the subject (unannounced at 9:30 pm after waiting hours to hear PTM). Then when PTM came out, no acknowledgement to the audience who waited in very hot, very crowded, and very smokey conditions. Just started playing. Lame. Used to like them a lot. Not a fan anymore.

    Good vibes, awful sound

by Mf on 2/23/24Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

Something was wrong with the sound. Could barely hear the singers. Love the band but this experience was awful

    Poor sound?

by Chuck on 2/17/24Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

I thought the sound was bad, I could barely hear the vocals. Maybe it's my old ears

Could only hear part of the band

by Chris on 2/17/24Bayou Music Center - Houston

I could tell that Portugal the Man were playing their hearts out but sadly we could barely make the music out. The heavy bass drowned out all of the guitar and most of the vocals.

    PTM Louisville

    by G. P on 2/17/24Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

Awesome, great opening from Snack time, and PTM really killed it! They are so much better in person.

    Portugal Still the Man

by WSB on 2/17/24Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

This was my third time seeing Portugal the Man live. The opener, Snacktime, were very funky and full of energy. They joined PTM during their set and their brass instruments added to headliners music in a cool way. Portugal the Man seemed to be having more fun on stage than I’d seen from them previously. It was a lot of fun for us too.

    Band was playing, but

by Gregg on 2/17/24Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

Band was putting on a good show, but the sound mix was so bad, we couldn’t understand the lyrics. Or even hear them.

    Couldn’t hear the vocals

by Meg on 2/17/24Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

The venue was very clean and a great size, I’m not sure if the band was too big for this venue or what but it was very hard to hear the vocals.

    Best Live Music!

by JD on 2/16/24Iron City - Birmingham

Everything from the venue to the opening band to Portugal The Man was excellent! 👍 I would definitely see them again the next time they're in town.

Loved this band but the sound was off

by Roxy on 2/16/24Civic Theatre - New Orleans

I loved seeing Portugal. The Man in concert as they always play an amazing show with great energy. This was no exception and their new album is phenomenal as well. My only complaint is that the sound at the venue (The Civic) was a bit off and didn't sound right. It was noticeable to many people in the crowd. They should have turned the singers mics up more but they still put on a great performance regardless of the sound issues.

Portugal. The Man always puts on a great show

by Lindsay1587 on 2/15/24Bayou Music Center - Houston

Show was great, as usual! My only complaint is that I wish they'd have played a few more deep cuts, or pre- Woodstock stuff. Keep up the great work PTM!

    A let down

by M.R. on 2/15/24Bayou Music Center - Houston

Didn’t play all their well known songs. Low selection of food products to choose. However, the staff and the bar were great.

    Portugal. The Blah

by 5.0Lizard on 2/14/24Bayou Music Center - Houston

Bayou Music Center in Houston was an Awesome venue for watching a concert. Clean restrooms and drink stands moved quickly. No complaints on that part. Portugal. The Man had one band opening for them and then they came on. I can't even remember the opening bands name, but nothing special. Portugal came on and had Zero engagement or interaction with the crowd. The vocals were muffled even though the music volume was about right in my opinion. I couldn't even recognize their songs. They ran through their set and left the stage. They did come back for a two song encore in which they played their most popular song finally. Went with a group of seven and we were all pretty disappointed.

Perfect but the mics weren’t up enough.

by Jayde on 2/13/24Bayou Music Center - Houston

P.TM is my favorite band over 10 years, they’re an amazing group and put on a great show! My problem was the sound wasn’t right, it was so hard to hear what they were singing. The mics were so much lower than the music which is like opposite what it should be. My husband is hard of hearing and higher tones are super hard to hear for him so he basically only heard the bass and the guitar lol. But brilliant as always and I loved being on the rail to see them!!!
