Vancouver Canucks History
The Vancouver Canucks started play in 1970, entering the league along with the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver has been to the Stanley Cup Final on three occasions, though they lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.
Despite humble beginnings, the Canucks continued to develop. With the arrival of three key players — Captain Trevor Linden, netminder Kirk McLean, and "the Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure, the Canucks had a winning Playoff run season — making it to the 1994 finals.
The Canucks continued to acquire superstars like Alexander Mogilny and Markus Näslund, and while the following years meant a series of losses, it allowed for the team to draft Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who would go on to lead the Canucks to Presidents' Trophies in back-to-back seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as their finals appearance in 2011.

Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena
The Vancouver Canucks play their home games at the 475,000-square foot Rogers Arena, which also played host to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games where Sidney Crosby scored the “Golden Goal.” A staple of downtown Vancouver, the Canucks played their first game at the arena on October 9, 1995. Other notable events that have taken place at the arena include the 1998 NHL All-Star Game, 2019 NHL Entry Draft, and in October 2002 when Queen Elizabeth II dropped the ceremonial first puck during an NHL exhibition game between the Canucks and San Jose Sharks. Additionally, the arena played host to Games 1, 2, 5, and 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.
The Vancouver Canucks’ 2023–24 regular season kicks off in October at home as the Canucks face off against the Edmonton Oilers. The Canucks play their final game of the regular season at Canada Life Centre against Western Conference opponents the Winnipeg Jets. Here’s a list of key games to keep an eye on:

Of course I am a die hard Canucks fan. Flying all the way back from SF Bay to Vancouver ( that's what I call my home city, where my heart is...). Man oh man, despite the 4-3 win for the home boys, the atmosphere at Rogers Arena is just phenomenal -- especially the pre-game production "This is what we live for" right before the team take on the ice. OMG, fantastic job the broadcasting crew! And the O-Canada national anthem, the entire Arena was rocking! Also the street booth for various marketing campaigns right outside the arena are also fabulous! Lots of free gifts and great crew. Now, it's up to the Canucks -- Let's Go Canucks! Bring the Cup back to Van City!
Spectacular atmosphere - great game - wish I could attend game 3 & 4 in Chicago !
Many Vancouver fans are the most crude fans I've ever had the unfortunate experience to listen to - I'm embarrassed for the good people that try to attend games at Rogers' Place.
I went to the game with my mom and sister and had a great evening! Canucks won their 1st franchise President's Trophy. Go Canucks Go!
Good sound, good seat and a very nice stadium. Only the people in the stadium were a little bit boring.
the canucks looked very solem on friday ,i know they are upset because of manny ,their awsome teammate ,but please guys ,play to win and do it for manny ,he really needs to see that his team is not falling apart ,thats the best thing you can do for him
It's always a joy to see the Canucks play! It was awesome again!
Love the game, love the team - love Roger's arena - not a bad seatin the house.
An amazing event, we had a wonderful time. The team were fun, funny, engaging, playful. All the different events were exciting to watch and they did a great job keeping the crowd of all ages entertained. Loved it.
Family fun for my nephew's 14th Birthday. He said it all, "This is the best birthday ever!" It was also my most expensive birthday event, but after all, it was the Canucks!
As always hockey is never a bad night. But wow almost 500 dollars for 3 corner seats lower level. Needless to say enjoyed but cant afford more then a couple games a season, Go Canucks Go!
Was a very good game, glad to see the Cancuck win!
This was a great game and a fun spectacle. It is always fun at Rogers Arena, but unfortunately we can only go about once a year because THE TICKETS ARE SO EXPENSIVE!!!
Fun place to watch a game. Single tix can be had for cheaper then pairs if your on a budget. Howard Johnson is two miles away and one bus takes you there and its cheaper and closer then many downtown hotels. Rogers Arena offers many food options. The Casino is across the way for post game fun.
The hockey game was great, just wished I could have seen the last period. The staff at Rogers Arena has a lot to be desired. They automatically assumed I was using foul language as I was one a few in our section who supported the other team. They wouldn't listen to anything me nor my friends had to say. Even the usher of the section disagreed with them, but it didn't matter. I eventually ended up leaving rather than argue any further. In America we're innocent until proven guilty, too bad it's not that way with Rogers Arena staff!
BC place was located near my hotel. The game was so exciting, I and my family enjoyed it so much !
#19 rises to the rafters tonight in Vancouver and Markus Naslund is further immortalized in Canucks folklore. Great to see past vancouver canuck members as Dan Cloutier and Mattias Ohlund. Rogers arena was loud and very easy to get involved in the pre game Ceremonies.
Nazzis' number retirement was an unexpected bonus and well deserved and very impressive.
This was a fantastic night The music, images, memories, and the technologies to display these made it a special night.
