About

With a catalog of songs that reaches back 50 years, Van Morrison always delivers a concert that’s impossible to predict  for his many ticket buyers. The iconic Northern Ireland native has, of course, recorded classic albums like Moondance and Astral Weeks, and timeless singles like "Brown Eyed Girl," "Domino," and "Wild Night." But he's released well over 30 albums during the course of his career, building a repertoire that veers from Celtic music to folk to blues to covers of standards. His focus on any given night could switch on the dime as he follows his muse wherever it takes him. From Madison Square Garden to Arizona Federal Theatre, fans fill seats to see Van Morrison on tour because the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is a master of making his own whatever genre or song he tackles. His unmistakable voice is a reedy and expressive growl, and his delivery --  which is constantly evolving -- conjures elements of jazz, blues and gospel. His latest album, 2012's Born to Sing: No Plan B, marked his first batch of original songs in five years and was hailed by many critics as recalling his much-heralded recordings of the late '60s and early '70s. It peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart.

    Wonderful

by Karyn on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

This was my first time seeing Van. Into his 2nd song I was sooo happy I got to experience he concert. I have been a longtime fan of his for 40 years so seeing him is beyond words.

    Disappointing

by AE on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

While his voice, band, and sound were terrific, he actively chose not to sing his hits. Instead he played a bluesy set list. When an audience member yelled a song, Van Morrison replied: “Caravan. Watch the movie.” Into the Mystic was the only hit song he sang. VM walked off the stage approximately 9:30, leaving his band to play the last 10 minutes. This was my one and only time to see this artist. I was more than disappointed not to hear him play more hits.

    Just awful !!

by Atom on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

Terrible show, maybe the worse concert I've been to? He only played a few of his old songs and didn't even play Brown Eye Girl, his most famous song. I just wasted $437.00.

    90% new songs

by Van Morrison on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

My party of 6 came to hear Van Morrison sing some of his old songs. In the entire set he sang two, not crazy love or brown eyed girl. At first I thought Van stop singing all these new songs and save yourself for the old ones we all came to hear. After an hour with all new songs I would have left but thought it would be rude to my guest.

    Really left wanting...

by Disappointed_fan on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

Band was excellent and Van sang well. They didn't play a single I every heard before, none. I get the they want to play new music but to not play a single song you might heard on the radio? If I had known it would have skipped the show.

    Great time

by Coot on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

Very good show, band was great and van was very good. Only played two old songs I kind of expected that but still was hoping for some of the stuff we all love from the seventies.

Would have liked to have heard more hits, less covers. Otherwise sounded awesome.

a evening with the great Van Morrison

by Bret on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

third time I have had the pleasure of attending one of his concerts. He played 20 songs and covered about 17 of them. An amazing night of musicianship and showmanship made for a great night of entertainment.

    Don't waste your money

by Tom on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

Band was good, but the list was poor. Into the Mystic was the only really well know song he played. He wasn't on the stage for the final song which was basically a jam session that lasted 10 minutes. The was a performance that Van Morrison probably, selfishly enjoyed but it's the fans paying him to play what they want to hear. Don't patronize him.

    Van Morrison did not disappoint

by vanfan on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

Brought back so many good memories. His voice has not changed a bit!! Only thing I would change is the guests/ticket holders. I found the crowd in Las Vegas to be very self centered and rude. Too many people talking loudly during the show and getting up and walking around which was very distracting and I felt disrespectful.

    Disappointed

by Willow on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

I was so excited to see Van Morrison, paid a lot for my ticket to see a legend up close. He sounded great, his band was tight, but he never engaged with the audience and played only one hit the entire evening. I left confused and annoyed...how can a musician with one hit after another not play his hits that made him a legend?! That's why the venue of nearly 7,000 people traveled the distance, paid the high ticket price...but all left wondering what just happened, or what didn't happen. VERY disappointing!!

    Van Morrison- The GOAT

by M. Andres on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

Absolutely a great concert he sang from the start until the very last song. His voice is a dynamic powerhouse and someone you truly need to see perform live. He is Legend, and a remarkable entertainer.

    Very disappointed!

by MB on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

He played only new stuff… only one hit oldie… not even Brown Eyed Girl. Felt it was a disservice to his audience! And especially because we flew to Vegas from out of state to see him. His voice and band are still great… just so so disappointed in his choice of songs! If I would of known that never would I have paid for hotel and concert to be that disappointed!

    Van Morrison

by OGDB on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

Van was outstanding, he still has his pipes and can still rock the saxophone. I only wish he played some of his older songs like tupelo honey, Moondance, brown eyed girl and have I told you lately to name a few.

    😢😢😢

by DLJ on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

If you are going to hear the music you remember and love - Brown Eyed Girl, Moondance, etc - forget it. He doesn’t play any of the old beloved hits.

Wouldn't pay the $ for this

by Bozeman Bonnie on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

We love Van Morrison's music. The first half of the concert was blues/blue grass music that we had never heard before but it was fun to hear and the band was wonderfully talented. At that point we assumed that he would throw in a few of his classics that, most certainly, most people were waiting to hear. During the entire 1.5 hour concert he played only one of his signature songs that we recognized. Now I understand that entertainers probably get sick of singing the same songs for 40 years, but if they don't want to play the songs that made them famous, then perhaps they shouldn't perform in expensive venues anymore. We paid over $500 for tickets (not to mention the fact that we paid another $1500 for rooms and airline tickets). He knows that his signature songs are what people are waiting to hear but, quite frankly, I don't think he gives a damn. We were very disappointed (to say the least) but others around us were angry. People got up and left during the concert and others had many choice words to say on their way out.

    Boring

by Tad D on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

I love Van Morrison and his music, however this throw was boring. He only performed one of his original, known songs, and never engaged with the audience or said more than what a song title was. The band and back up singers were great though! Sorry but true.

    Wouldn’t play the hits

by Mark on 9/12/23Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood - Las Vegas

The show was rushed and he refused to play any of his hits… He actually covered another artist rather than play what most everyone was there to hear. The show lasted 1hr 40mins and there was little to no interaction with the crowd. Don’t waist your money..
