About

Uncle Waffles is a South African DJ/producer described by Billboard as the “princess of amapiano” — a South African subgenre of dance music. Waffles’ meteoric rise has taken her from South Africa’s DJing circuit to earning a cosign from Drake and becoming the first amapiano artist to perform at Coachella. Uncle Waffles (born Lungelihle Zwane) rose to prominence not only for her DJing skills, but for the hypnotic dance moves she showcased in a viral clip from October 2021 (which turned her into a trending topic on Twitter). In March 2022, Waffles released her first single, “Tanzania (feat. Tony Duardo, Sino Msolo and Boibizza),” a No. 1 hit in South Africa that Waffles included on her 2022 debut EP Red Dragon. “Tanzania” was also ranked No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s list of the Top 40 Best Afropop Songs of 2022. In March 2023, Waffles released her second EP, ASYLUM, and continues to tour worldwide.

    Best experience!

by Joequian on 5/2/23The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

The venue was great, valet parking was great and the music was awesome! Only issue is one of the bartenders at the venue seemed to many issues with multiple customers from my observation but that had nothing to do with the artist who performed. I really hope Uncle Waffles come back soon!
