    Loved seeing Amy!

by Sheila on 10/22/23UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - Buffalo

Great event…really enjoyed Amy’s take on learning, associating, and remembering things she has been exposed to! She is a role model for so many who are struggling with their gender identity. So glad she could be part of the UB Speakers Series.

    Loved it!

by Ela Mae on 10/22/23UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - Buffalo

Amy Schneider was wonderful! Her lecture was upbeat, honest, insightful, informative and fun. Amy had a great rapport with the audience which broke into applause several times during the evening. The moderator during the Q&A did a great job. My only criticism is that the microphones during the Q&A were somewhat obtrusive.

    Marie Yavanovich

by Pat on 11/18/22UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - Buffalo

I was grateful to be able to attend the Distinguished Speaker Series with Marie Yavanovich. I was so happy to be able to bring my 10 year old granddaughter to her first Distinguished Speaker Series. Marie Yavanovich is a courageous woman with life experiences that few people will be able to duplicate. This was a great life experience for my granddaughter & me to share.

    Excellent speaker

by BBB on 11/18/22UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - Buffalo

UBCFA is a great venue with great views from every seat except the first row of the Loge, which is obstructed now by “safety bars”. Questionable decision. Sound quality is excellent. The speaker (Marie Yovanovich) was great. Honest, engaging, personable. Book signing afterwards was a nice addition.

    A bit disappointing

by Sharon on 11/18/22UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - Buffalo

A bit disappointing yes…. I think the format contributed to a very uninspiring presentation although it may have been just who Marie Ivanovich really is as a speaker. I admire her and appreciate all she has done as an ambassador and diplomat for peace. However, she was a consummate diplomatic speaker and seemed unwilling to explore anything controversial. It could’ve been the questions she was asked but I did feel that she just was unwilling to say anything other than try to inspire young people to go into foreign service. Of course that is admirable, just not what I was hoping to hear. I think the interviewer could’ve steered her into more interesting areas. Just my two cents. (This will not stop us from attending and/or supporting the series.)

    YOVANOVITCH WAS EXCELLENT

by Paulette A on 11/18/22UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - Buffalo

UB Distinguished Speaker Series once again offered an excellent experience. Marie Yovanovitch gave a spell binding summary of her experience as former US Ambassador to Ukraine. Her insights into the current situation were beyond interesting - factual, touching, emotional and so thought provoking. She shared personal experiences as well as a global perspective. We could have listened to her for hours, she was just that good.
