First off i gotta say the techs and stage crew working at nokia really know what they are doing. Fastest band changes in history! Sounds was also amazing too. Hats off to the sounds tech as well. Opening acts put on a great effort. Type O Negative wa sawesome as always. Set time was fair and Peter was hilarious as always. One of the few shows that actually had air conditioning at an appropriate level!!!! Proud to be from Brooklyn!!!!!

    Type O Rules

by JonnyLongBranch on 10/23/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Type O at Starland in Sayerville, NJ was yet another Awesome show. Type O Negative does not disappoint when they play live in New Jersey. The sound was a little off, and the encore lacked a guitar for a few minutes, but I think that's to be expected on night one of a tour. The set list was great and the band played terrifically. I generally go to the Type O Halloween show when they are in the area, but this year they came early. The crowd was bigger than it usually is on Halloween night, and the pit was pretty wild. As is the norm, there were very few idiots/trouble makers in the crowd and everyone on the floor was able to enjoy a great show from a great band! Thanks Pete and the Boys, New Jersey Loves you old basterds.

Type o negative was too loud

by drummerslave on 10/23/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

Im a drummer and never complain about volume in my life. but the show was way to loud and the sound was terrible. the band performed well but the shear volume was earth shattering. we had to leave because my girlfriends face started to hurt from the volume. And she is Type o negative fan.

After being a fan for almost 20 years this is the first time I have been able to see them live. And it was the best show I have seen in a long time.

Great band to see live! Excellent music, wild audience, and Peter Steele's joking around with the audience... fun night! They did many of their classics, and their later stuff, and it all blends in well. Hard, heavy sound. GO SEE THEM!!

    They rocked Times Square HARD

by TypeXNegative on 10/23/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

Type O was awesome. A bit of a short set, and they're starting to show their age a bit, but still, the enthusiasm and energy was there in force. Wish the mixing people would have gotten Kenny's vocals audible sooner, but then they did, and watch out.

    don't be afraid...

by NursePaine on 10/23/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

run as fast as you can into the creepy green light and don't look back! if you were there, you know you did. too hard to resist the hypnotic lure of the music... no need to try. i love this band, so to the gentlemen of brooklyn i say thank you for the departure, delirium, and touch of the indiscreet.

    Better times in Buffalo

by clownofmisery0669 on 10/22/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

from the floor area, Pete sounded pretty bad the first 2 songs, but that soon fixed itself.... As for remembering his own lyrics? Not so much. The show ending at 11? bogus. Hell, maybe next time they won't have to double dip on talent.

Another great performance from the drab four. Actually, this time more like the drab 3, as some guy from Heaven & Hell was filling in on keyboards for this mini-tour. Was a great set list, Peter looked energetic, healthy and sounded great. The keyboards were a little off at times but you'd have to expect that with someone filling in at the last minute. Only wish they could have played just a few more songs.

Type-O: A Must See When Playing NJ

    by Libra9 on 10/20/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Type-O was rocking! Kenny and Johnny were all warmed up after playing their set in Seventh Void. Peter's voice was as deep and clear as always. The sound at the Starland Ballroom was great, was able to make out all the songs without going deaf. Perfect for Halloween was Wolf Moon and In Praise of Bacchus. Nice mix of two or three songs from each album. I have to say, Josh was definitely missed. The keyboard sounds were not as strong with the fill in musician. Josh really adds a presence to the fab four that can't be replaced. Don't miss them when they come around. Always interesting people watching too.

    Type O Negative was fair

    by ceu1 on 10/19/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Type O Negative was not as good as I thought they were going to be live. It appeared to me as though they were not in control on stage, for example, the singer appeared to be confused at times and/or uncomfortable & appeared to be more concerned with what appeared to be a fan on stage then he did with his singing or the instrument that he was playing. I do admit that this is my 1st time seeing them live so I didn't know what to expect (maybe this is normal for them) but I just expected them to be more professional & better sounding probably because they have been around for so long & they are more experienced musicians.

    Where was the sound tech?

by wickedlittledoll on 10/19/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

First I want to establish that I am a huge Type O fan. However, this show was absolutely terrible. Having FOUR opening bands is just unforgivable, especially when three of them were atrocious. When Type O finally came on, it sounded like everyone was turned up to 11 on their amps and NONE of it was properly mixed. My ears were still ringing three days later. My favorite part of Type O is some of the subtleness of the keyboards and the bass, and none of that could be heard. I was highly disappointed, especially since I have only heard rave reviews about their previous shows. The icing on the cake was when some blonde groupie was dancing like a fool on the stage in her platform boots and fell over into the guitarist's amp, rendering it ineffective for the remainder of the encore (Black No. 1).

    Type-O-Negative ROCKS!!!

    by Tones666 on 10/18/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

This was like my 12th or 13th Type-O show... they never cease to amaze. When they hit up NYC next week anyone reading this who missed the Starland show should not miss that one.
