A beautiful, intriguing ballet!
by Bryndad on 5/10/16Ames Center - BurnsvilleWe chose to go to this ballet, because our child is taking lessons this year for the first time with Ballet Royale. We all knew (of course) the Cinderella story; but setting it in World War II England was a wonderful touch. The costumes were historically accurate for the most part; choices for the music were absolutely excellent; from the opening strains of Barber's Adagio for strings, to a section from Eric Coates' "London Everyday Suite" for the final pas de deux, The artistic director gave us a seamless presentation of her balletic ideal. The only thing it seemed a bit out of place was the animal ballet with all the little children; but when you're a ballet school, you have to get everyone involved! As a newbie to Twin Cities Ballet, I am looking forward to seeing other productions from this company in the future. The dancing is superb, costumes and sets for lovely, and the recorded music was very well presented.
