About

Train are a Grammy Award-winning rock band who have released 11 studio albums, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Formed in San Francisco in 1993, Train released their self-titled debut in 1998, but they broke through to the mainstream with their 2001 follow-up, Drops of Jupiter, which became their first of six Top 10 albums behind their seven-time platinum single of the same name. To date, Train have logged six Top 20 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and four No. 1 songs on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, including 2003’s “Calling All Angels” and 2009’s “Hey, Soul Sister.” The group has embraced various genres through collaborations with leading country artists like Martina McBride, Ashley Monroe and Tenille Townes, rapper Travie McCoy and pop singers such as Sofía Reyes and Cam. Train have gone on tour nearly every year since 1996, playing in over 25 countries and sharing the bill with the likes of Hall & Oates, Goo Goo Dolls and Jewel. As of 2024, the band is made up of founding frontman Pat Monahan, Taylor Locke (guitar and vocals), Hector Maldonado (bass and vocals), Jerry Becker (keyboards and guitar), and Matt Musty (drums).

  • Amazing, as always!

by MMG on 8/15/25The Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre - YoungstownRating: 5 out of 5

We had so much fun! Train sounded amazing as always and put on such a great show. My whole family went and we all really enjoyed ourselves. Such a great venue. Big, but still intimate. The weather was also perfect for an outside concert!

  • Hot night in more ways than one !!!

by MAC on 8/15/25The Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre - YoungstownRating: 5 out of 5

Edwin McCain was AWESOME Train was AWESOME The venue should have spaced out seats to accommodate larger individuals. The venue should also have fans cuz it was a scorcher! But all in all - I didn’t mind being sweaty and dancing and singing to my fave band <3

  • Train was AMAZING

by 613karen on 8/13/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 5 out of 5

What a great surprise to have a trifecta with the incredible sound and music of TRAIN, a beautiful night with a full moon for an outdoor venue and a sound system that was spot on. Pat and the band were absolutely incredible and will rank up there with one of the best concerts ever. Edwin McCain was a nice choice and a new artist to us and did a great job as well.

  • Great show!

Great concert, excellent performance. The music, the vocals were great. The length of the show was perfect. Thank you!

  • Needs improvement

by Teddy on 8/13/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 4 out of 5

The up grade for bathroom’s and to free drinks for$110 was not worth it, not enough tables, and the drinks poor selection. Had a great night for the concert, and music was great.

  • Train was GREAT - Parking Needs Work

by Rkk on 8/13/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Great, energetic show by Train. However, we paid extra for the preferred parking and the parking lot was chaotic after the show. People were forced to walk down the same road the traffic was using to leave. There were people and cars everywhere. They need to have a designated, roped off path for people to use to safely get to their cars - probably to the far right as you exit - to keep people off the road.

  • Fantastic concert in a great venue.

by Ggk on 8/13/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I'm a long time Train fan, since the 90s, never saw them live. Every time they came close to my town I was tending kids or working. So I was carrying decades of anticipation going to this show. I was so hyped up that I thought to myself, there is no way this concert will meet my expectations, no reflection on the act, just what I had built in my mind. Train exceeded my expectations! The live rendition of Mississippi was great. They played stuff I forgot about, but I still remembered the lyrics once I heard the songs. Train did a cover of Hotel California, that would have had Don Henly applauding. Great show. Looking forward to seeing them again this fall at Oceans Calling. Penn heros stage at Hollywood Casino, was great. Much more laid back and fun than that Much larger venue six miles south of there. You know the one, with the too narrow bleacher seating where they cram 30 people into space for 25.

  • Unbelievable

by Liver of Live Music on 8/12/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 5 out of 5

They gave it their all. Fantastic show. Very personable concert. Really seemed like they care that their fans have an unforgettable experience. Patrick is from Erie, PA! Band was phenomenal!! One of my favorite concerts ever!!

  • A phenomenal concert experience!!

by Aquarius on 8/12/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 5 out of 5

In addition to a perfect day, a full Sturgeon moon, the Edwin McCain/Train concert was way beyond a fabulous experience!!! We had amazing 6th row seats and we so enjoyed every musical moment as well as the moments in between!!! The concert venue provides simply the best concert experience!!! We would definitely return for more amazing concert experiences!!!

  • Great show, parking and leaving left a lot to be desired.

by Sully on 8/12/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Edwin McCain was phenomenal. Train was good even great although I’m not that familiar with their music. The venue was fine, although prices were insane. The Parking situation was terrible as I saw several security just standing around not directing traffic. Sat for over a half hour waiting to leave. Venue should have a second road and an exit plan. Poor planning

  • AMAZING!!

Edwin McCain and Train were both outstanding! We had wonderful weather as well.

  • Amazing Concert

by Krissy on 8/12/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Train was absolutely incredible. I think very few artists/bands sound exactly the same live as they do on a recording. Train is one of those bands. The show was absolutely incredible. The venue was also very nice, sound was terrific, and a bonus was being able to see the beautiful PA mountains in the background of the show. 10/10 recommend going to see Train, they did not disappoint

  • Most relaxing,fun time

  • Fantastic show!!

by iko on 8/12/25Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course - GrantvilleRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing concert!! I typically go to rock shows and lean more for heavier music, but Train is one of those nostalgic bands that were a huge part of my childhood. I was not disappointed!! Pat sounds even better live than recorded, his voice and range is incredible!! The rest of his crew are all super talented as well and went all out for every song! Their stage presence was something to note- they were so entertaining between and during their entire set! The venue was great too, loved the experience! 10/10 definitely need to see them again next time they're local

  • FANTASTIC band

Train was nothing short of a spiritual experience. Wow, is all I can say. The vibe was incredible. The band was phenomenal. The full moon was a paid actor. No notes, cannot wait to see them again.

The energy and talent was spectacular!! Train really engaged the crowd!! Their cover of a couple of other artist for example Hotel California was top notch. Enjoyed Ed McCain that got the evening rolling!!
