About

Train are a Grammy Award-winning rock band who have released 11 studio albums, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Formed in San Francisco in 1993, Train released their self-titled debut in 1998, but they broke through to the mainstream with their 2001 follow-up, Drops of Jupiter, which became their first of six Top 10 albums behind their seven-time platinum single of the same name. To date, Train have logged six Top 20 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and four No. 1 songs on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, including 2003’s “Calling All Angels” and 2009’s “Hey, Soul Sister.” The group has embraced various genres through collaborations with leading country artists like Martina McBride, Ashley Monroe and Tenille Townes, rapper Travie McCoy and pop singers such as Sofía Reyes and Cam. Train have gone on tour nearly every year since 1996, playing in over 25 countries and sharing the bill with the likes of Hall & Oates, Goo Goo Dolls and Jewel. As of 2024, the band is made up of founding frontman Pat Monahan, Taylor Locke (guitar and vocals), Hector Maldonado (bass and vocals), Jerry Becker (keyboards and guitar), and Matt Musty (drums).

  • Phenomenal

by Peaches on 9/3/24White River Amphitheatre - AuburnRating: 4 out of 5

2 great bands from 2 Era's!!! I enjoyed taking my mom who grew up listening REO SPEEDWAGON and my teen years was when Train came out. Best of all my 14 year old knew songs from both bands and is an AVID Train lover. The opening band was also extremely talented as well. The only downside to the concert was where the ADA parking is... the White River Amphitheater used to have it up front and closer to the entrance. Now it's in the back far away from the front.

  • Very good concert

by Peanuts on 9/3/24White River Amphitheatre - AuburnRating: 4 out of 5

The only real issues which were pretty minor overall were the gate opening times. The venue website said the gates open at noon for parking on the day of the event. They actually opened at 3. Notice was sent via email but I didn’t see it until after I arrived. It also said to check that particular show for any information about parking and any other updates. There was no information on the show page about parking. The venue was clean and the seating was good. There was a free water station set up for the people in line which was great as the line was in full sunlight. It would have been nice if there was one closer to the front of the line also. It was a little ways from the entrance and up hill so it was not real convenient for some people. Everything else seemed to be fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

  • Didn't like the singer much

by Hikingbear on 9/3/24White River Amphitheatre - AuburnRating: 2 out of 5

Singer tried to sing to high of a pitch all the time, didn't like them much. REO Speedwagon was great so that made it a great show. Without REO it would have been soso.

  • Another amazing show!

    by Diver1961 on 9/3/24White River Amphitheatre - AuburnRating: 5 out of 5

The entire show from Yacht Rock Review, REO Speedwagon and Train was stellar! Train never disappoints and Pat’s Son came out a sang lead on a song and was amazing! Best show I’ve been too in a long time!

  • Train is great! The venue isn't.

by Epaget on 9/3/24White River Amphitheatre - AuburnRating: 5 out of 5

Train always puts on a fantastic concert. However, the Whiteriver Amphitheatre needs to improve their seating. In the 200 level seating, each chair is directly behind the seat in front - meaning, there is no offset to allow a viewing window between the heads of the people in front of you. So if you are of average height, you'll spend all night stairing at the head in front of you.

  • Great show

by Rock Father on 9/3/24White River Amphitheatre - AuburnRating: 5 out of 5

They are entertainers and it's obvious that they enjoy what they are doing. The interaction with the crowd in impressive. They opened for Hall and Oates the last time we saw them and they should have headlined. Great show, nice evening, great venue.

  • Best concert of the summer

by Jazzy on 9/3/24White River Amphitheatre - AuburnRating: 5 out of 5

The whole experience was amazing. They hadn't sold enough tickets to need to open the lawn seating so those that had purchased lawn tickets were upgraded to seating within the amphitheater. The bands put on an amazing performance. The vibe was a perfect way to end the summer concert season.

  • Train is always a pleasant surprise!

by Mychem86 on 9/2/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 5 out of 5

Reo Speedwagon was really fun to see. They have so much energy, they make you feel young. They were right when they said, Rock and Roll Keeps You Young. Train, is always such a wonderful surprise. You are reminded how much you know every song and they really know how to entertain a crowd. His voice was on point! I will happily be going to see Train again when they return.

  • Went to see REO Speedwagon

by JohnnyB on 9/2/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 5 out of 5

Went to see REO Speedwagon - Never really heard of Train prior. They put on a great show. Im now a fan. Their music is now part of my collection. REO and Train were complimentary to one another. Great night of performances along with Yacht Rock

This was our first time to see Train in concert and wow they did not disappoint!! They sounded amazing, Pat M was such a great entertainer, the vibe was electric! Loved the few cover songs they played in addition to all of their hits. 100 percent recommend, I would love to go again!!

  • Train did NOT disappoint!

by Cyd on 9/1/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 5 out of 5

I saw train 10 and again 9 years ago, and they did not disappoint! Love their vibe. I was in awe of how they transitioned into other songs seamlessly. Love them!!!!

  • Mediocre

by john on 9/1/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 3 out of 5

Train was pretty mediocre, they didn't seem to enjoy the concert that much. REO Speedwagon was incredible, however.

  • The show was amazing, but we did not get our VIP Experience

by Lucien Alex Campbell on 9/1/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 3 out of 5

1000% the show was amazing, but the lack of engaged information for the VIP Experience was not giving.

  • Must go see

by Sour apple on 9/1/24Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amp) - West Valley CityRating: 5 out of 5

Train was so energetic. I loved how they interacted with the crowed. Made funny jokes and played all their great songs. One of the best concerts I’ve been to this year.

  • Still got it!

by Mo on 8/30/24The Wharf Amphitheater - Orange BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful night! Train did an outstanding job! Pat Monahan did a great job. He stated early on that he woke up that morning with "with this thing going on with his voice"but nonetheless, he did a great job. Yacht Rock Revue came back out and helped out which I thought was great! I had a "Karen"next to me that was whining and complaining when Train sang Eagles.....but we were having a great time and I think it was great! I only hate that my phone died and I didn't get Drops of Jupiter recorded, my favorite Train song. But hey,I did see & hear it live! ~peace & love

  • another incredible evening

by music lover on 8/30/24iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre - West Palm BeachRating: 5 out of 5

THe rain held out...LIVE NATION was generous enough to present us with inside tickets for free. Even though we had purchased chairs for the Lawn, the upgrade was so worth it. Mike at the Credit union booth was delightful and informative! Great ponchos! Concert was terrific as always. So glad people loved Yacht Rock (they are awesome) Train always makes my day!

  • Amazing

by kk on 8/29/24iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre - West Palm BeachRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best concerts we've seen lately. From Yacht Rock Revue, they were so good and we were very impressed, to REO Speedwagon, who were fantastic, then Train. Train was amazing! They sang all of their great songs, and sounded exactly like their albums. It was an upbeat, singing fest for all of us in the audience. We highly recommend and will see them again the next time they are in out area.
