Toronto Raptors History

The Toronto Raptors were founded in 1995 as part of the NBA's expansion into Canada. The Raptors have been the only NBA team based in Canada since the 2001–02 season. After acquiring eight-time All-Star Vince Carter in 1998, the Raptors set league-wide attendance records and made the playoffs from 2000 to 2002. Led by Carter, the Raptors earned their first playoff series win in 2001 and advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Raptors didn't return to the playoffs until the 2006–07 season, when they won the Atlantic Division title. After Masai Ujiri joined as the team's General Manager in 2013, the Raptors became a consistent playoff team, winning five division titles and having their most successful season in 2018. The following year, during the 2019 playoffs, the Raptors earned their first Eastern Conference title and went on to win their first NBA championship, defeating the Warriors in 6 games.

    Nothing like seeing it live

by Day 1 fan on 1/24/23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I have been going to Raptors games since the first season. You see the game differently live than on TV. Every single NBA is a world class athlete now, which is a little different from watching Oliver Miller rumble down the floor

Oh my goodness, where to start. First of all I found fantastic prices on spectacular seats. The raptors won and I got to meet J Cole. What a time

    Excellent family day out

by Jordan S on 1/13/23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Our first NBA experience with a 3 year old, the whole family enjoyed and was kept entertained with music, half time show, dancers, video packages and a close game between Raptors and Hornets

    B-Ball Raptors v. Knicks

by Dave on 1/9/23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Fun, and the kids enjoyed the experience (5 stars for that) - but needlessly expensive (1 star for cost/value). Way too many profiteers involved!

    Was a positive experience

by Brian on 1/9/23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The game against the Knicks was great and the Raptors came within 3 of tying. Just couldn’t get those 3 pointers in! Seats in section 115 row 25 were just right. Grandsons who were there for the first time enjoyed the whole experience. Yes also the popcorn.

First NBA experience (watching a kiwi too)

by Craig on 1/2/23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Apart from real dramas with the ticketing and giving me real concerns and headaches once we got them the whole evening was seamless. The show put on and the game were great SB arena may want to look at legroom but had a really great night.. And the fact the grizzlies and our boy Steven Adams won just capped it off for a kiwi..

    Horrendous

by Terrible Ted on 1/2/23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Prices are way up for a product that is way down. Won't be back until normalcy is restored. Embarrassing effort.

    Awesome!!!!

by CaraBearah on 1/1/23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

We had AMAZING SEATS!!! We were in the 5th row section 114. I purchased the tickets a few days in advanced and couldn't believe my luck; we even got aisle seats. The Raptors lost but the experience of being at the game made my night. I did miss hearing the commentating from Matt Delvin and Alvin Williams. Is there an app or frequency fans can pick up while watching it live to receive their broadcast? If not this is ok. I enjoyed my night and I will be back again. I'm considering joining the season ticket waiting list.

Amazing atmosphere! Such a fun experience.

by Raptors fan on 10/31/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The Rogers Centre provides such a great atmosphere for a sports event. Everything went very smoothly and the fans and players were fantastic. Especially so since Raptors beat a perennial conference enemy!

The game was great fun, and the crowd was just amazing! The only thing I'm sorry about, that none of the tshirt guys came up to the upper level.

    Was awesome…!

by JF on 10/18/22Centre Bell - Montreal

From the purchase of the tickets, getting them scanned on my phone at the gate, the event, the ambiance, the venue...all great! Only one wish did not come true. Chris Boucher was absent because of an injury or any other illness. Also, Pascal Siakam did not play and he was present. We don'get to see the Raptors live because of distance. Professional teams should make a greater effort when reaching out to the fans accros the country. But averall very satisfied with the event. Had a good time with my son. Thank you. JF.
