Highlight of 2009!! She brought me to my feet and then back into my chair with a handful of tears.
As always, the performance was magnificent. Thank you Tori!
This was my first time seeing Tori live, although I've been a fan for years. She was amazing!!!!!!! I'll see her every single time she comes to town in the future; I'm hooked.
Tori is wonderful, always. I have seen her on every tour since Boys for Pele. It's cool when she jams with her band, but honestly I really prefer the old days when she was just with her piano. Though she did do a few songs solo in the middle of the concert, like she usually does. She always has a projection on stage of the name of the "bar" where she's playing her solo stuff. This time it said Lizard Lounge, which is the name of a real club in Dallas. I wonder if she uses Lizard Lounge on all shows, or does she get the name of a local place for each concert?
tori amos can not have a bad show every show is unique and i wouldnt miss it drove to dallas from san marcos to see her she mixes new songs and old she sang alot of classics in the orignal style sometimes she switches it up if you havent seen her youll missing out
Tori walked out on stage in this bizarre shirt/dress and tight gold pants. Wearing stillettoes and playing not one, two, or three pianos, but... four. Amazing. The lights, the sounds, her voice... all very magical. I would pay double what I paid to see her again... I felt the music throughout my entire body. The energy she gave off brought everyone to life. Simply put... amazing.
The show started with a short but sweet unknown act opening and then went straight into a blistering assault of the senses. Tori was even more amazing sounding live than on her albums. A voice so powerful you could feel it vibrate through your bones.
Tori gets better with every concert i attend...going on close to ten i believe. She is sexier than ever of course! And that AMAZING voice needs no words!!!
This was only my 2nd time seeing Tori live in concert but I have been a fan of her music for years. She is an amazingly talented pianist as well as singer. I highly recommend everyone who enjoys her music to see her play at least once.
I bought tickets to this show as a birthday gift for my sister. I was wary at first, but quickly realized that this woman is incredible! It was not only an auditory feast, but also a fun and aestetically pleasing show. It was brilliant from start to finish. I highly recommend watching her live. I truly could not have appreciated her music fully without seeing her perform live.
Her set list was great! A lot of variety from her large repertoire. She was so vibrant and so connected to her music, even ones going back to Little Earthquakes. It was an amazing show and reminded me of all the reasons I adore her. She kept the audience involved and drawn in with her eccentricities. I've been replaying various moments from the performance all day... the next day! Truly a show to see.
She was, as always, amazing. Watching Tori Amos perform is ethereal. She has an amazing energy that you can feel no matter where you are in the theatre. I've been in the 4th row for her show, but this time I was MUCH further back, but she sucks you in like you're the only one there. All in all, I would recommend her show to anyone. Never miss a show, because you always come away from it astounded and anxious for the next one.
Tori was fantastic as always. I like that she didn't play a whole lot from the new album. I think most people were there for her old stuff anyway. Fantastic set!
She was amazing, as ALWAYS! She has so much talent. I wish I could watch her perform EVERY day!
Tori's newest album, Abnormally Attracted to Sin, had several good tracks but on the whole fell short of her previous album and came no where near the brilliance of her first three. However, Tori is still amazing live. She was able to elevate her subpar new material and did a beautiful job with her older songs, making them fresh and exciting even though she's been performingsome of them for over two decades. She was very energized and her voice has never sounded better. I would reccomend her live shows to anyone with even a passing familiarity with her work.
I love Tori and have seen her many times, this was by far the best!
Show was amazing!! She played a flawless two hour set - somber versions of old classics, jazzy new songs, and had a really cute and quirky stage presence. Since I'm more of a fan of Tori's older music and don't particularly care for her albums after Scarlet's Walk I thought the setlist could have been better. She played a lot of newer songs that I wasn't really familiar with so if your a fan of her new album, this would be a great show for you to attend. The thing that's so incredible about her tours, is that she doesn't play the same setlist from city to city, so every show will be a different experience. I would definitely recommend it.
There just isn't anyone with which to compare Tori... unlike most enduring talents who change faces episodically, reincarnating their careers, Tori has steadily evolved in an organic fashion, simply becoming more and more herself. Over the past 20 years, she has recruited true believers from succeeding generations. I attended with my 20-year-old daughter, who is now firmly in the fold. Tori never backs off a level of intensity that most performers only attempt to reach a couple times a concert. Her acoustic control was perfect and, even for a 50-something like myself still mired in the "Under the Pink" period, the consistency of musicianship was remarkable. If not for the drunken young woman dancing in the aisle directly in my view of the stage, the concert would have been a perfect experience... I also took vicarious pleasure from the giddy enjoyment of many around me, who literally leapt for joy from their seats at different points. A prodigious keyboard talent, a unique vocalist, and a lyricist with a profoundly personal take on life's subtext. Gosh, I'm glad I was there, and that my daughter and I have one more experience bridge.
once again tori captivated a crowd and performed songs spanning her whole career... awesome show
One of her best shows I've seen yet. With the best arrangement of old and new, tori never ceases to amaze me. She worked the stage with a playful glee in her eye and kept us all captivated for the few hours we got to spend with her. She's never looked so fresh and fiesty. What a pleasure it was to spend an wvenin with the great Tori Amos.
