  • First Tori Amos concert

by montyljordan on 7/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 4 out of 5

She put on a great show. The layout of the stage and the lighting were all terrific. I enjoyed her playlist as well. I know she is promoting her new album, but she did a great job of mixing up her classic hits with her new material. One thing I would have liked to see is maybe a rotating piano platform, so we all could see more of her. I was a little disappointed that she ran off the stage and didn’t say anything after she was finished, but that just might be her style.

  • Tori Amos steps it up everytime!

I have been a long time fan of Tori Amos. I've seen over 100 of her live concerts. Tori Amos brings a new level of magic to each tour, and once again, didn't fail to deliver. With new pianos and keyboards, great lighting and layered sounds, this concert was a tour-de-force of the music she creates. I would highly reccomend this to a friend, or anyone who will listen.....

Everything about it was completely amazing, and out of this world, period. Her words and that voice just vibrate to your core if you are someone that "gets" it...To hear, and see her live is flat out healing....just plain healing, and unforgettable...

  • Tori not at best

by zoro99 on 7/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 3 out of 5

She sounded nice but could have kicked it out more on many songs including Cornflake. Wish she had played more of her older work.

  • Goddess Tori

  • Tori Amos........Always an awesome show!

by LaurielovesTori on 7/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 5 out of 5

Once again Tori Amos brought her passion, talent, and raw emotion to the show. She is an amazing artist and she never lets her fans down. It is not very often you can go see someone that sounds just as amazing in person as they do in their edited albums. When she jams the piano and harpsichord at the same time...............something you will never forget.

  • Just Keeps Getting Better

by ToriZeppelin on 7/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 5 out of 5

This was the ninth time I've seen Tori so it's probably fair to say I'm a huge fan. Because of this I will give you the unbiased review of my 14 year old niece who had never heard a Tori song before last night. She said "that was the amazing thing I've ever seen" She was absolutely right!

  • Tori is still amazing!!

by SpaceDog on 7/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen her perform 12 years ago and I saw her last night, and wow she can still pull those notes from her lungs and move those hands like no other siren performing today. Her cute, flirty, and even fiery energy creates a fun atmosphere where you feel like you're hanging out with a best friend during a night you wish would never end. Even in all her glory, she still remains at the level of the crowd and presents herself as "real" with her short improvs, hand/body gestures, and fearlessness of admitting to us a mistake or two :) Listening to the soul in her music and the beauty, wit, and truth in her lyrics may catch an emotion or two, but to see her in action heightens the spirit and reveals a talent that can not be compared.

  • Tori's show was hot and sexy good!

by bdub323 on 7/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 4 out of 5

I have heard different Tori Amos songs throughout my life, and bought the tickets for my 6th wedding anniversary. My wife and I were totally enthralled the whole time! Even the opening set by Jeremy Lister was fantastic. She did a fantastic tribute to Michael Jackson, and we were just as impressed by the crowd who knew the words to all the songs. Being music people, I would say you cannot get the full Tori experience unless you are there, watching her play 2 different keyboards while only looking at one! I must say that knowing Tool is playing tonight (07/25/09), I was hoping for a Tori Amos/Maynard James Keenan reunion on "Muhammad My Friend," but that was a minor setback to what was otherwise a marvelous show and well worth the extra money to sit close!

  • tori rocked it

by cornflakeboy on 7/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 5 out of 5

this tour she is travelling with a band...bass player/guitar player/aux keys and a drummer that touts an impressive percussion arsenal. this is RARE for her in regards to touring at least in the u.s. she did more 'tribal' kinds of things to showcase her drummer so if you're used to a very intimate type evening of her inner-reaching ballad type stuff you may be disappointed. however, she does do a solo segment in the middle of the show whereby the bass player and drummer leave the stage. in that segment she did mimic her previous tour formats. 'taxi ride' she covers in this solo segment with a slow, ballad take on that song. very nice arrangement and a great moment in the show as she talks briefly about the song before performing it. she and nokia in grand prairie get along nicely. the house was all but sold and her fans have their own culture and expectations. she never disappoints.

  • A Dream Come True

    by Jessie2012 on 7/23/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Tori is one of the only artists I know that is gracious enough to meet with her fans before nearly every show. I was lucky enough to meet her before this show and was able to tell her that my daughter was born on Pele's island to the song "Jackie's Strength" and that I wish she could hear her sing "Flavor" on the way to school. Later, as she was getting back on her bus, I gave a shout-out, saying, "Mary Jane for Cali---you know it flows freely here!" She smiled, pointed at me and said, "Thanks for that tip." That night, in the middle of the show, she told the story of Mary Jane, played the song and sang the most beautiful rendition of Jackie's Strength I've ever heard. To me, that personal connection was a dream come true! I was in tears at the edge of my seat. The show started a little slow, but from Carbon on, it was high-energy. She pulled out so many of my favorites; I was in Tori heaven. Her voice is ageless and sounds impeccably perfect. I met some very cool Tori heads at the show to boot. Great show, great time!

  • Tori's Concert

    by RyRy26 on 7/23/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed the concert, I believe Tori gave 110%. She played a variety of classics from the past and new songs from her recent album. The Greek Theatre was a magical atmosphere with the pine trees and colored lights. It felt very woodsy with the natural landscape surrounding. They had 2 large video screens which was helpful because I was sitting farther back then I had anticipated. I would recommend this outdoor setting to anyone. Im so glad I got to see Tori again, I feel like its really a treat considering I thought she would have quit touring awhile ago. My only gripe is I wish she would have played more new material and maybe some unexpected cover. Never the less she produced and shared alot of her best work over the years. Ticketmaster also gave me a smooth transaction. I ordered the tickets online, and had them held for me at will call. Everything happened seemlessly, which helped facilitate a steady evening. I recommend this show highly.

  • Tori Amos was amazing!

by MissUltraviolet on 7/22/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

If you have never seen Tori Amos in concert, I highly recommend you do soon. This amazing singer/pianist has more conviction in one little finger than most people do in their whole body. Her performance moved me to tears and that almost never happens at a concert. To top it off, it was at the Greek Theatre, so it was at a small enough venue to be able to view and enjoy the show.

  • Tori Amos was spectacular!

by zrebel on 7/22/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best that I've seen of her yet. She had a great mixture of songs from all of her repertoire of CD's. She played one of my favorite songs from the soundtrack for the modern very of Great Expectations. I definitely would come back to see her again. I would have liked to have been closer. I would have liked to hear WInter, 1000 oceans. Over all it was wonderful.

  • Amazing talent - horrible lighting

by Jinxkat on 7/22/09San Jose Center for the Performing Arts - San JoseRating: 4 out of 5

Tori Amos is undeniably gifted when it comes to keyboards and this show was no exception in showcasing her talent. The only drawback of the evening was the terrible lighting which blinded the audience at random intervals, making it difficult to watch Tori's skillful performance at times.

  • Artistry Magic

by JustJace on 7/21/09Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Her talent and artistry were incredible... especially for her fans!
