  • Toots and the Maytals- Concert good- SOUND AWFUL

by RACINGGREEN on 5/27/13Newport Yachting Center - NewportRating: 3 out of 5

The speakers were so cheap and turned up so loud so the small crowd could hear. Distortion and poor quality sound. Very cheap.

  • toots rocked so did on the marx

Fantastic venue for being asbsorbed in the moment. Toots still leaves everything on the table.

  • Toots and Maytals! WOW

by fuzzy69 on 4/7/13House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to a lot of shows in my day and seen a lot of legendary bands. But the way Toots and the Maytals put on the show at The House of Blues in Chicago was nothing short of amazing. Toots was non stop and full of energy, his voice clear and soulful. The way he worked the audience into a frenzy was fun to watch and he had them eating out of his hand. The band was tight and never missed a cue regardless of what Toots was doing. If you have a chance to see Toots and the Maytals definitely go. You will never forget it.

On an unseasonably cool Spring in Chicago, Toots and The Maytals brought the heat!

An awsome show everytime !!! Great tunes and I love how the band interacts with the crowd!

  • Energetic Acoustic - GREAT show!

by Kaydeesky on 12/8/12Uptown Theater - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

The Uptown Theater in Napa is such an awesome venue (854 seats) - and while it was by no means a full house for the show - Toots and the Maytals played it like it was - interacted with the audience, gave soooo much to all the songs - 'Nuff Love and Respect all the way around - totally high energy for an acoustic show... the female backup singers were awesome - the guest that came up and rocked Monkey Man with him was off the hook. Hard to believe Toots is almost 67 - most 30 year olds don't have that much energy - the passion in the music was so strong. My only issue was some of the young audience members who need to learn to respect the artist and really listen... I had to shush the vapid twenty-somethings behind me several times...

  • Absolutely Awesome!

by raechell on 11/4/12Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was small and personal, which we loved. Toots was awesome -- hilarious commentary, fantastic music, and he played for almost two hours. It was an overall great experience!

  • Pretty cool concert

by bomquishaa on 8/4/12Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Although I enjoyed last year much better because Ziggy performed longer, it was still a great concert! Definitely recommend it everyone!

We had a wonderful time........music was great and so were the people!

  • Big Disappointment

by Anonymous on 7/29/12Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 1 out of 5

I paid to see Maxi Priest and he no showed and they had no one to replace him. Since we had one less artist to see you would think they would have a replacement or Ziggy could have played a longer set. Neither happened. Had I known Maxi was not going to show I would have not paid to see the rest of the lineup. A Big Disappointment!!

  • Reggae night not so great

by qpwo on 7/27/12Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 2 out of 5

I was very disappointed that Maxi Priest just didn't show up! I paid for that too. We should receive refunds.

  • Tuff Gong, Ziggy Marley, and friends

    by gs1949 on 7/19/12Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

I usually love this concert at the Hollywood Bowl.... I saw Toots 2 years ago, and he rocked the house.... Maybe I was sitting too far back... this time I had the more inexpensive seats... Everyone around us were talking soooo loud during the songs, you couldn't hear them sing... Also the whole stage presence seem to lack the usual luster... The other thing I didn't care for, was how the big screen was edited... There were no full band shots, only zoom in for single musician or singers..... so you had to settle for what they wanted you to see on the big screen, rather then the whole band, and that was extremely disappointing. Sorry, I have seen better Reggae concerts at the Hollywood Bowl...

  • Always great seeing Ziggy...Toot's struggled.

    by WailerJ4 on 7/19/12Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

We are lifeline roots reggae fans...and Toots and the Maytals fans. Ziggy was a great host and played some good songs. But he also played several songs that must have been from his new album...and we didn't know any of them. Toots and the Maytals, who has always been absolutely amazing, was absolutely disappointing. He was mumbling quite a bit and was almost lifeless. We were so disappointed that we left after two of his songs. It broke our hearts to be disappointed this way.

  • Where was Maxi????

    by Nancy9566 on 7/19/12Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Concert itself was great.... but sad that Maxi Priest wasn't there... and that ticketmaster didn't feel the need to send an alert out.... he was the main reason we bought tickets.... and were disappointed to get there and see he wasn't coming...

  • Pissed!!!

by Bree04 on 7/19/12The Legends of Reggae - HollywoodRating: 1 out of 5

First of all when we arrived there was a very small sign that said Maxi Priest will not be performing due to a problem with his Visa. So you figured that we would just get more Ziggy? Ziggy performed but he was suppossed to perform in his own spot and also Maxi's spot...that didn't happen! It was bad enough to not have Maxi but then Ziggy didn't come out for the final performance sucked! Oh well I will still pay to see Ziggy but I was pretty disappointed!

  • Jammin' with Ziggy

    by littlehazy12 on 7/18/12Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Hollywood Bowl is an unbelievable venue! It's gone through some renovations - mainly updating the restrooms and adding one of those "electronic walkways". The entertainment was amazing. Freddie M. and Toots were awesome. Maxi Priest, unfortunately, was not there due to being stuck in the UK. However, Ziggy came to the rescue and performed quite a bit of songs, including one from the great Bob Marley. He performed about 30-45 minutes, which was definitely a great surprise! This is definitely a recommended concert to attend every year!

  • The Legends Of Reggae Liven Up The Bowl

by Analinda on 7/18/12Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

My 14 year old and I attended this event, and we're truly amazed! Years ago, I saw Bob Marley and wanted to keep up the family tradition. Ziggy did not disappoint. In fact, He played an extra long set because Maxi Priest had to cancel due to visa problems in the UK. The entire audience was into his music and his message of peace. You could feel the positive vibe pulsing as if we were all transported to another level of consciousness. When Ziggy finished his set, Toots and the Maytals had an extremely hard act to follow. They did recapture the energy a couple of songs in, but Ziggy should have been the headliner act.
