About

All rise for Academy Award® winner Aaron Sorkin's adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterwork. The New York Times Critic's Pick TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is "the most successful American play in Broadway history." (60 Minutes). Majestic and incandescent, it's filled with breath and nuance and soul." With direction by Tony Award® winner Bartlett Sher, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD -- "the greatest novel of all time" (Chicago Tribune) -- has quickly become "one of the greatest plays in history" (NPR). Emmy Award®-winning actor Richard Thomas will play the role of Atticus Finch in the National Tour.

    Excellent Play

    by Sandy on 8/15/23

This was one of the best performances I have ever seen. Richard Thomas was amazing as Atticus Finch. The only thing I did not like was the guy a couple seats down throwing up. They stopped the play so they could take this man out of the theatre and clean the area up. We were told to find other seats. Fortunately, we were able to find two seats together in the second row.

Mockingbird Lives UP To All Expectations

by Awed in the Audience on 8/15/23

Like most students in high school, I read To Kill A Mockingbird and was taken by the dual themes of humanity and prejudice. But seeing it on stage, with the interaction between the characters, the clever staging and dialogue, and unsurpassed acting, I was moved to a higher plane. I found myself crying and laughing almost simultaneously. Richard Thomas headed the cast of consummate professional actors who brought the characters to life. It was an amazing experience, watching the story unfold. The story was woven through flashbacks which lured the audience into the disturbing realities of Depression era poverty, ignorance, and prejudice, coupled with sensitivity and compassion. The standing ovation at the end of the show was well deserved. I cannot praise the production enough.

    Popcorn Eating During Plays

    by Mary Daly on 8/14/23

During both acts, I had theatre goers chomping on popcorn sitting behind me and in front of me. When you pay over $100 to see a play, you do not expect to listen to popcorn chomping, crinkling paper sounds as they put their hands into the popcorn bag, etc. At the CSO, when they make the announcement to turn off your phone, they also ask patrons to unwrap hard candies before the performance starts. I do not understand why Broadway sells food items like popcorn. I understand you want to make money, but it ruins the other patron's experience. I will think twice about attending another Broadway play in the future.

Superb theater elements all at their best!

    by Michael on 8/14/23

Got ticket on a whim first day in town, and what a find! Timeless novel with a timely message. The cast brought it to life with all the important nuances. Emphasis, reflection, raw heated emotion. I would like to see it many more times if I could. Perfection.

    Amazing show!

    by Cathy on 8/14/23

We saw To Kill a Mockingbird 8/11/23. The staff at the theatre were friendly and helpful. Our seats were center Mezzanine and we had an absolutely perfect view.Richard Thomas was meant to play Atticus Finch and Yaegel T Welch as Tom Robinson was amazing! There were moments the audience laughed - mostly at Dill- but the scenes in the courtroom and at the jail you could hear a pin drop in the audience. Not gonna lie I cried more than once from how much emotion was displayed in the dialogue. I would definitely see this again!

Superb play but terrible theatre seats

    by Tommy on 8/14/23

Was a great play, cast was superb. Back row seats in theatre where we were located were terrible as we could not see the stage (and advertised as standard, not limited view).

    Still relevant

    by VT on 8/13/23

Absolutely phenomenal. Richard Thomas as Atticus Finch was perfect. The young woman playing scout. She was such a good actress. Perfect timing. Everything about it was good. From a social aspect it's amazing that it is still so relevant today. It feels like this should have been all resolved by now.

Loved this updated version of a beloved novel

    by Extrordinary Adaptation! on 8/13/23

I've taught TKAM for years and was aware of some of the concerns that people like Toni Morrison have raised, but this production brings them to the fore. We talked about the play for days afterwards, and we appreciate the way Sorkin raised important questions without diminishing the original.
