THERE IS ONLY ONE. HER VOICE IS UNDENIABLE. HER FIRE IS UNSTOPPABLE. HER TRIUMPH IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER.
An uplifting comeback story like no other, TINA - The Tina Turner Musical is the inspiring journey of a woman who broke barriers and became the Queen of Rock n' Roll.
One of the world's best-selling artists of all time, Tina Turner has won 12 Grammy Awards and her live shows have been seen by millions, with more concert tickets sold than any other solo performer in music history.
Featuring her much loved songs, TINA - The Tina Turner Musical is written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd.
Tina was fabulous. I wish we saw it a week earlier so we could have gone again. Maybe next year in Milwaukee.
Overall an enjoyable show especially if you’re a Tina fan. I have to say the singer portraying Tina needs to use the full spectrum of her voice. She only sang loudly and screeching like. Did not portray the tenderness and nuance that Tina had. It also make it impossible to understand the words with that kind of projection.
The actress who played Tina was fabulous and full of energy! The actor who placed Ike Turner was good but his voice was average at best. The show was a bit long but all in all, kept my husband and I engaged and entertained - and the ending was a special treat!
I loved the musical I have seen the movie. I saw her live on her last tour in chicago. The musical was well done. I went solo. My mom is going to be mad that i did not invite her!
It was amazing - I've been to most Broadway musicals and this one was my favorite!
Loved it, loved the storyline, well presented. Beautiful singing & choreography. The next best thing to the real Tina 💕
I loved everything about TINA! I’ve been a fan for a while now and hearing the different songs and seeing the story told really had me entertained the entire evening. The cast was stellar and it looked like they were having an awesome time.
The musical was totally awesome. The songs, actors, and stage, totally magical. The ending is one of the best I have even seen. I would go again, and again. 6 stars if it was available.
Loved it- standing, shouting, hollering, with a geniune living, concert encore!
I enjoyed this musical biography of one of my favorite icons. My daughter knew nothing about Tina Turner and they were intrigued to hear her life story. Her songs that made her more famous were coordinated nicely to tell her story. The ensemble performed beautifully. The stage setting was simple. There was no live music, no orchestra for this musical. That disappointed me. There was a live band for scenes where “Tina” was “performing”. I loved the mini concert at the end.
It was sensational from start to finish. The staff was friendly, the theater was clean. Everything was perfect. Great experience.
Every actor performed at a high level. The young actress who played Anna Mae as a pre teen was exceptional and she will become a big Broadway star; what a voice for one so young. I had a smile from ear to ear from start to finish. While the lead actor who played Tina Turner did struggle with getting the voice right, her stamina while singing and dancing was amazing. She will only get better with each performance. The only downside, the musical was only in Chicago for two weeks and I was not able to see it again. Worth it and if it does come back to Chicago, I’ll be one of the first in line. Thank you to all who performed including those behind the scene.
Nia Nelson Williams was phenomenal as Ailene, Tina's sister. The show was everything and more. I plan to travel to see more plays.
I laughed, I cried, I learned and I chair danced. This show was so incredible and I'm sad I didn't get to see it again before it left Chicago. The entire cast was so talented, they left it all on that stage even though there was a second performance that night. You don't have to be a Tina Turner fan to enjoy it, but I can bet you will walk out with deep appreciation for her and her music. Keep your eyes open for Ayvah J Johnson that played the young Anna Mae. This young lady of 9 has a voice straight from God and I really think she is going to make some incredible music in the future.
The performances were great! Zurin Villanueva was awesome as Tina Turner! I thoroughly enjoyed!
There is not a bad seat in the house. Every worker was nicer than the next. The performers were amazing - I am still in awe of their talent. I would say maybe an additional worker at the bar would have been helpful - but otherwise it was truly an amazing night!!!
Performance was awesome! Vocals, dancing, and music were amazing. Cast was incredibly talented. Entertaining storyline and beautiful auditorium. Although seating was tight, orchestra circle view was superb. Thoroughly enjoyed the show.
It was a wonderful show. I really liked it. That said, I know she had big shoes to fill but I did feel that the actress playing Tina was a bit screachy at times. To me this performance was good not great.
Excellent show. Full of energy and great music. If you like Tina Turner, this is a must. What a voice on the actor playing the role of Tina.
The story line was great and acting was really good. The show was amazing and would highly recommend.
