About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

Tim Allen and his warm up comedian were absolutely hilarious. Tim started out a little rough, but then got rolling..... and he circled back on some of the things he said. The routine was incredibly well thought out and fun! I would definitely see the warm up comedian Loran again. Definitely don't be in a hurry to leave. 2 exits in the facility, they let out the center section and one side section out first. If you are in the last 3rd section, hope you don't have to use the restroom soon :-). Don't plan on eating at EQC. 2 hour wait at the restaurants, 3-beer lines in the deli's.

We went to see Tim at the Venetian on Saturday the 29th and he did not disappoint! We loved it! His opener was hysterical so he had his work cut out for him - and he really delivered for over an hour + 15! I'll admit it started out a little slow with discussion about growing up and his family life, but it built on genuine & unique humor from this childhood into his adulthood. He gradually worked some light Christian religious humor in that anyone could appreciate and the crowd was roaring with laughter. You could actually draw some perspective from his stories & humor and correlate among show characters from Home Improvement, which was interesting. Overall, we were very impressed with Tim and felt he was very worth the money and then some. Recommended - one of the best ways to enjoy downtime from the casino floors in Vegas!

  • Funny...not hilarious

Got turned off when he referenced his kids and basically said he hated his kids when they where little. For me a lot of things are funny, but that rubbed me the wrong way! At that point it was an all uphill battle for me.

  • Tim Allen....... Not verry funny

This show was a comedy routine. Tim talked about his childhood growing up and the women who raised him and his sibblings. Spoke on a few other topics but the show was just not that funny. The opener for tim was Hillarious though! Thank goodness for that.

  • Really awesome show- he's still got it!

by Ravensfan526 on 8/5/12The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

It was my first time seeing him in standup so I was slightly weary even though I've seen his prior standup specials. The opener, Lole Sanders, was hysterical so right from the start we were laughing and in a good mood. Before Tim Allen came on they showed compilation clips from Home Inprovement, Last Man Standing, and all of his movies, including some never-before-seen bloopers and outtakes. Then he came on and although the set started a bit slow, the belly laughs and giggles soon started and stayed strong the rest of the way. I've been a fan of his for a long time and tonight's show proved why- standup is where it started for him and I'm loving every minute of it. He did a great job, performed for almost 1 1/2 hours and really did phenomenal. And for those who fear this, he doesn't pick anyone out and heckle so you're safe no matter where you sit. A really great show!

  • Still got the tools!

I've loved Tim Allen for years, but this was my first time seeing him live. I think the venue was great for him as it was small enough to have no bad seats. He was true to his original humor plus a slightly raunchier side he was not able to show on TV or movies. I like his improv comedic style and would go see him again. A big shout out to his opener who was a good fit for the act and very funny as well.

by RodGirlz on 6/11/12The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We have loved Tim Allen in all his TV and movies, and we loved him even more in person! He was so funny and his material was so relateable with him including stories of his parents and kids! Love him even more and won't hesitate to see him again in person!!

  • Tim Allen OK but warmup act was great.

by adw770 on 6/11/12The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Tim is getting old and slow when it comes to delivering the lines. The act was just OK to me but his warm up act was great. As for the venue it is a great location for acts like this. Not to large that you get lost but not one of those small dives either.

  • Tim Allen standup

by Anonymous on 6/10/12The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Good opening act. Tim was just Tim you could say. Didn't seem like he was going by any material just whatever came to his mind which makes it a lot funnier. I would recommend this to Tim Allen movie and television fans.

It was a great night with very funny humor. Tim Allen was very quick on his feet and had us laughing for the entire performance. I would go and see him again!

  • Funny!...but short.

by BeverlyHillsBob on 4/19/12The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Very entertaining. Gets props for his great TV/movie career in and of its self. Material was original, though I understand that the routine I saw has been his act for a year or two and it needs some updating. Saw him 4/14/12 in Las Vegas. I thought for the dough that the warm up (which was very funny) and the headliner were not on the stage long enough. Glad I went.

Language was awful but funny overall. could have been just as good without using filthy language.

  • Was expecting better

THe first Act was better ! I was disappointed with Tim Allen, thought he would have been better . Got more about himself than a comedy show , and lot $$ for not a good show
