About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

What a great way to spend a few hours in Vegas! The opening comic was a great addition to the ticket. Tim was personable and hilarious. His delivery was like you were sitting in a room listening to old funny stories. My cheeks hurt from laughing by the end of the night! Can't wait until I can see him again !

My sister and I went for her birthday (we are both in 40s). Tim was great, and he had a good opening act, Mr. Saunders from Detroit. He had a few swears, which were fine and strangely not offensive but almost endearing. He is a cleaver, fun performer -- highly recommended. Oh and the venue is so intimate -- there simply is not a bad seat. Tom

  • Really?

Maybe it was just a bad night for Tim but that was literally the worst show I have been to in Las Vegas. It's not that the show was vulgar, because it wasn't, it just wasn't funny; he complained about his whole life, mocked the people who raised him to a detest-ful degree and talked about how he hates his own kids. Myself and the people I was with were miserable, not a single joke made us laugh, we felt obligated to sit through the dreadful performance, literally every second I spent in there made me feel less and less intelligent and it was extremely depressing, I would say, don't go, its a waste of time and not worth it for any amount of money, if you have nothing to do, go clubbing or something fun, just don't go to this show.

One of the best comedy routines I have ever seen (if not the best)! Tim kept us laughing through the entire show. It's nice to have a comedian be so refreshingly funny without being crass and vulgar! I'd love to attend one of his shows again in the future.

  • Tim Allen was AMAZING!!!

    by BallHawkin12ManOnTwitter on 10/22/12Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

I had the best time at Tim Allen's show at the EQC on 10/20/12. So many comics are vulgar and disgusting but Tim Allen is far superior to them. Sure he has a few bad words here and there but he is so above any other comics. He relies on his knack of punch lines and timing. Not over the top vulgarity and shock value. He is awesome! Can't wait to see another show if his again....but in the mean time I will settle for his show on ABC when it premieres soon. "Last Man Standing" is the ONLY comedy I watch in television. Thanks Tim for an AWESOME night. My next dream is to see a taping of your sitcom live.

I would only recommend seeing this show on a empty bladder, much better than expected, even the pre show entertainment was great, would go to see his show next time he comes around well worth it , if you enjoy laughing you will enjoy his show.

  • Funny but easy to forget

by imajoey on 10/22/12Tim Allen - TacomaRating: 3 out of 5

I guess I was so excited to see Tim Allen I was expecting more, I only go to things like this once a year because of the cost. He only went for an hour and for the price I paid for VIP seats, I felt a little let down. He was funny, but at times it was quiet for longer than maybe it should have been. I guess I was looking for more of the old times, like from the Men are Pigs era, when you were rolling on the floor laughing.

  • Tim Allen's Stand Up Comedy

by laurazuko on 10/22/12Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

Tim Allen is my Dad's favorite comedian, so I got us tickets to his show - I wasn't sure what to expect, as I'd only seen him on his TV shows & in movies - never his stand-up routines. He did not disappoint - his routine went on a lot longer than expected which added even more value, and both my Dad and I laughed throughout. I'll definitely see him the next time he's in town. There were parts of his show that my Dad laughed so hard he had tears.

  • The opening act was great, Tim was at his best.

by bubbadubba on 10/22/12Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

We and it seemed everyone around us laughed so hard we had tears in our eyes. He told stories of his life, which we can all relate to, many of which hit so close to home. It was one laugh after another through the whole act, not just a laugh here and there. We would love to see him again on his next tour through town.

  • Tim Allen at EQC

by AJDoglover on 10/22/12Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

Tim Allen was amazing - but the show seemed to be cut short.. He ended his routine mid joke... it was as if the casino made him quit early because they wanted us to gamble or something? not sure what happened... But I am still laughing with the amazing tim allen... he is my absolute favorite star. I would highly recommend tim allen - just not emeral Queen Casino venue.
