About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

Tim Allen I had never seen live before better than I ever thought! A wild and crazy guy that is refreshingly frank about everything. Well done Tim. I would see him again for sure.

Tim Allen is a terrific comedian and a great entertainer! He weaves his stories into comical visuals that kept us laughing the whole night! Tim has a wonderful balance of stories from his childhood and current events. We saw Tim in Vegas and were excited to see him again here at Emerald Queen.

The guy who came on before Tim was really funny but wasn't on for very long. Tim was funny but no interaction with audience. Act seemed short compared to other comedians I've seen. He seemed a little stiff, but all in all he was Tim Allen as you would expect.

The show was very funny. Tim had a lot of funny stories I could relate to.He kept the jokes and stories coming never a slow moment. I would go and see a show of his again at any other location than the Emerald Queen Casino. The event center had a good layout for seating. The rest of the casino was dirty and smoke filled. Got a bite to eat after the show and had the worst service ever. Will never go back there again. But the show was fantastic, thanks Tim.

Well worth the time and money!! Opening with Sanders was great; he was the "pickle with the hamburger" and it was a great one! Tim Allen had the whole audience in stitches. We laughed 'til we cried. What a great way to celebrate our anniversary...something we both could agree on.

I paid to much for seats that i should have had a better view of tim allen. You can be upfront, but on the side so far away that it is like sitting in the back of the hall. Tim Allen was good and kept your attention.

Event started 20 minutes late. Opening act was hilarious! Tim Allen was funny, Got a little slow a couple of times. I think it was an uninteresting content problem, Overall we had a good time. Tix were expensive for the experience and view we had.

  • Theater has problems

by GOAK on 10/22/13Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 4 out of 5

The show was very funny most of the time. Some of the sex subjects got a little bit boring. The opening act was also great. It got everybody in a good mood. Tim has a great delivery and can make almost any subject funny. Parking for the event was an absolute nightmare and thank goodness the show started late or I would have missed the beginning. After the show the theater took forever to empty. I'm suprised it even meets fire regulations. Maybe it doesn't. I would think twice about going to this location again.

  • Tim Allen At EQC

by cracksteredge on 10/22/13Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 4 out of 5

First time goer to his show. It was cancelled two years ago. Had a good time. The "pickle" (opening act) comedian was awesome. Mr. Allen appeared tired but not sure if it was his act. EQC showroom was crowded and seat a bit uncomfortable for the duration.

  • Not quite what we expected

    by Kawai88 on 10/22/13Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 2 out of 5

Tim Allen is a talented performer. His stand-up set was hilarious. We just didn't appreciate the totally unnecessary foul language. The man is fully capable of entertaining a crowd without resorting to this. Most of his acting on the big screen and television leads you to believe his humor is family-oriented. His stand-up is definitely not. We enjoyed some great laughs, and really wanted to fully enjoy the show, but both of us came away feeling a little let down by the vulgarities.

  • Tim Allen was outstanding !!!

Tim Allen was very funny. So was the warm up person . Tim Allen is a must see any time you can. However, the casino is a dump and very smokey. I recommend Tim but not this venue.

We really enjoyed this event. Tim did a excellent job and the "pickle" opening act was also very good. Both of the acts could have gone on longer.

  • Good act

by ATaheri on 10/22/13Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 4 out of 5

Tim Allen was great, and his opening act was really funny too. The casino iteself was not that great, and the food at the "bistro" (everything else had a 2 hour wait) was really bad. Next time I'll eat before I get there.

Well, I enjoyed the warm-up comedian Lloyd....and I enjoyed Tim Allen. Tim related stories from his past that I could really relate to-being in the same generation. However, I would not go back to the Emerald Queen to see him. It was like a large tent. We sat in regular chairs that were lined up. The view wasn't great. I was glad they had large screens so we could actually see Tim.

  • Awful

    by Kirklander123456 on 10/22/13Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 1 out of 5

This was the worst standup show I have ever attended. Tim Allen was homophobic, racist and could do no better than fart jokes and explicitly sexual material. Where did the Tim Allen with talent disappear?

  • Opening Act was great also!

    by Jerry1943 on 10/22/13Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 4 out of 5

My wife and I both enjoyed the show. The opening act was really good, would go see him again. Tim Allen was great-what I anticipated.

  • The Tim Allen show was painful.

by Tonsatrouble on 10/22/13Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 3 out of 5

The dissapointment in one of my favorite comedians was pretty much like learning that the dog pooped in my shoes, the hard way. First, the show started late. Second, the opening act was better than the headliner. Third, He did almost the exact routine that was televised two days before. :( Fourth, Hearing someone who has made his living as a family entertainer drop the "F-bomb" for 30 mins was like him saying, "I can't be funny without it." Note* Bill Cosby can. Fifth, he was one for about 30 mins. Sixth; There were only 2 exits and we felt like cattle. 7; The rows were so long that we constantly had someone climbing over us. Overall; I wasn't bothered that some might have found his material offensive, what bothered me was that he actually thought it was good.

  • Excellent

This show was hilarious. His opening act was just as funny as he was.

  • Good but

Finding a parking spot was a real pain! The EMC seating was like sitting on an airline (coach class) but with no arm rests. It was difficult seeing the performer as the floor was flat. I was watching the big screen monitors most of the time. It was in a huge tent, a loud motor cycle drove by during the performance and was a distraction.
