About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

  • Tim Allen was tired

    by AmyRae7 on 6/3/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 2 out of 5

Disappointed and would not go see him again even though love his TV show. Lots of bathroom humor that is really not that creative. He really seemed tired from the moment he walked on the stage.

  • Great Show!

Tim was hilarious, and warm-up comic was quite good as well. Lots of laughs from both.

  • Tim Allen was disappointing

by phxredhead on 6/3/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 3 out of 5

He's funnier on TV. Very disappointed in the amount of profanity. Expected a cleaner act from a respected actor. Only on stage an hour.

I was kinda hoping for more political satire, The show has quite good though.

  • Hilarious

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. We drove from Chino Valley, Az. And the show he put on was well worth it.

  • A laugh riot!!

    by PaPa46 on 6/3/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 5 out of 5

A non-stop stream-of-consciousness riot! His insights were, as always, spot-on, if a bit warped. A VERY enjoyable evening!!

  • HILARIOUS! Good old school comedy

by JBWifey on 6/3/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 5 out of 5

So ya, Tim Allen cusses like a sailor but that's part of the fun! His act was hilarious and totally worth every penny. My husband and I both left with sore cheeks from laughing so much! His little diddy about childhood toys was the best. Tim Allen is a classic and if you get the chance, don't pass this one up! Great old school comedy without being perverse or disgusting. Just good gut laughs!

  • Tim Allen does Fart jokes

by OldWhiteGuy on 6/3/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 2 out of 5

I appreciated the fact that he dressed up to perform and his suit looked pretty goo. But, I was just expecting a higher level of comedy based on the sharp writing in the television shows he in which he has appeared. Doing jokes about the farts, rectal exams and the construction of the penis are pretty common subjects and I have heard plenty of that form local comics here in Arizona. Not sure what I was expecting, but it just didn't rise to the level of being a professional national comedian.

  • Not what I expected

by Jarelley on 6/3/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 1 out of 5

Wow, this was a 1 1/2 hr. angry rant, we walked out early. maybe I'm too young to get it (I'm 40).

  • Good show, venue was horrible

    by aec151 on 6/3/14Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 3 out of 5

The show overall was good. Started about 8:30 and stopped at 9:40, not a very long show when you have an opener. The opening act was great. Tim was really good at the beginning but kinda went down toward the end. The venue on the other hand was horrible. They had a bunch of chairs setup in a large meeting room so unless you are in the middle and close, you could not even see the comedians. I basically watched the entire show on the screen...I could have done that at home on my couch. would never return to that venue.

  • HILARIOUS!!

by LilMissPicky on 3/12/14Sands Showroom at the Venetian - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I knew when I purchased these tickets I was taking a chance on which Tim Allen was going to show up. Boy was I thrilled to see him leave his family friendly tool man routine at the door! His act was a little raw but not raunchy. My husband and I laughed the entire time (except during a very short political rant). The majority of the show appealed to a universal audience and wickedly clever.

  • Tim Allen had me in stitches!

by jtmaz on 3/10/14Sands Showroom at the Venetian - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Except for the language which was pretty rough, it was a great show. He had the whole audience practically rolling in the floor!

  • Tim Allen was GREAT!

by KryChrisLanc on 3/10/14Sands Showroom at the Venetian - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Tim was great and his opening act guy was hilarious! Great show. Bought VIP tickets so we got to do a meet and greet with Tim. He was very personable and nice. My only thing was that no one told us about the meet and greet. We just happen to sit in our seats and let the crowd clear out when the seat attendant came over and told us what was about to happen. So I was disappointed that I was not better prepared for that. It was definitely something Tim does often so I think I should have been told by ticketmaster.

  • Tim Allen is my favorite!

by Michigan29 on 2/26/14Sands Showroom at the Venetian - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I live in Las Vegas, and never go down to the strip, but I had to go see Tim Allen! I am from Michigan and have always been a fan. My expectations were very high and he did not disappoint. I would definitely go see him again. Had a great time!

  • Amusing but not worth what I paid !!

by LUVDR2 on 2/25/14Sands Showroom at the Venetian - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

He was humorous but not laugh out loud funny. He stood in the center of the room and told stories about his life. Some funny, some not so much. The show was also very short. He was on for alittle over an hour. His warmup comedian was on for about 15 minutes and I liked his stuff better.

  • Loved every minute!

by VanAtta on 2/25/14Sands Showroom at the Venetian - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Best show I have ever been to in my life. Non stop laughter! Great venue! Would go back in a heartbeat. Mr. Allen is the funniest man. Had a meet n greet which was unexpected. WHat a treat. Well worth the money. I would have paid double! First comedian was terrific also.

  • Aweful

Five of us went to see Tim Allen on Jan. 18th and we were really looking forward to it. We remember his standup from before he was a tv and movie star and he used to be so funny you would laugh until you cried. Unfortunately, his standup isn't close to what it used to be. It was amost like he was just up there shooting from the hip. At $100 per ticket, it was the disapointment of the weekend. You'd be much better off going to see somethng else.
