About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

I guess I have been a Tim Allen fan for years but only for his TV/Movie work. His standup has good material but to much what the fuck is that, etc. The opening act was great

  • Tim Allen Hillarious!!

Tim Allen is a talented comedian and worth every penny to see live. We love watching Last Man Standing and wished he would have brought more of his political jokes to his show. Still a funny and entertaining standup routine and would definitely go see him again!

  • Could have been better

The warmup act and Tim's intro were great. The intro reminded me of a bunch of work he has done over the years, some of which I had forgotten. He really is a talented actor and comedian. However, the excessive foul language took away from the experience. I'm sure he shrugs it off as just being himself, but it's unfortunate because a) that isn't his image, and b) comedians of his stature don't need to do that to get laughs. If you replayed the whole evening without the cuss words, I would have laughed myself into near unconsciousness. But as it was he just never built up much momentum with me. No standing ovation or encore at the end. He just said his last joke and that was it, like the timer had gone off on the generator.

  • Not as good as he used to be

    by Salsal1122 on 10/27/15Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 3 out of 5

This is the second time I've seen Tim Allen. I felt that this time he was to political (definitely has a thing against democrats) and he came across as uneducated because every other word was the "F" word. I'm not a prude and its not as if I don't use that word also....but it was overkill. His material was funny for the most part but there were several times I thought..."Wow...that would offend me if I was __________!" I don't think I will go see him again after this time.

Waste of money! Bad venue that was massively overcrowded. Took an hour just to park. Jokes were gross and vulgar. Love him as the tool man but as Tim Allen the jokes fell flat. Wished I had bought a NFL Jersey, would have been a better gift.

  • very funny

by BreezeArtist on 10/27/15Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

I thought it was really funny. He curses and says some hilarious toilet humor jokes that I personally love to giggle to. I was 20 minutes late so I missed his opening act as parking is brutal at eqc. Tim's act only lasted an hour, but it was an hour well spent full of laughs.

  • Tim Allen and Ken Sanders were hilarious!!

by lisadls on 10/27/15Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I love Tim Allen. And we both walled out saying we enjoyed so much more than we thought we were going to. Tim Allen was hilarious. The opening act Ken Sanders was hilarious too. Especially his piece about Tacoma drivers!!!

  • Side splitting fun!

by codykins on 10/27/15Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

Tim Allen does it again with his amazing wit. He covers tons of topics. Haven’t laughed this much in a long time! I saw a few people leave early, assuming they were getting offended by some jokes. Beware he will be truthful and step on some toes. Wether its about politics or religion. Cant’ wait to see Tim again!!!!!!

  • All we expected, and more.

by tslusk on 10/27/15Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

Tim Allen was a pleasure. We loved his stories and the hilarity that came from them. I don't want to ruin his set, but the man knows how to entertain and relate to the audience. I would have loved to have more of the "Tool Man" comedy, but we did still get the famous grunts and manly references he's known for.

Tim Allen and the guy before him were very funny! Not a fan of the Emerald Queen so I'm not sure I will go back there.

Tim Allen's standup is dirty almost from the first words out of his mouth. With that said, I can't remember the last time I laughed this much. I especially loved the non-politically correct parts of the routine. Thanks, Tim, for telling it like it is. Highly recommended. My only complaint has to do with the wide stage and seats close to the edges of the stage. Our seats were so close to the side of the stage that I'd have had to go to the chiropractor afterward to fix the kink in my neck if it hadn't been for the large video monitor at the side of the stage. I'd recommend seats near the center of the stage or at least avoid the first few rows of seats if you have to sit near the edges of the stage.

  • Tim Allen was amazing!

Took my husband for his 55th birthday! Loved the whole show. Tim was funny, quick, witty and down to earth. Enjoyed hearing about his life and family. Everything he talked about was very interesting and kept us laughing the entire time. From Home Improvement, Santa Clause, Jungle 2 Jungle, Toy Story and Last Man Standing...Tim always brings a smile and laughter to both of us. Thank you Tim Allen. One of a kind!!

Firstly, the opening comedienne was nonstop laughs. Then Tim Allen was hilarious. Not overly graphic though, some (like my mother) make not appreciate the swearing. I felt he connected well with his audience. When you realize this guy doesn't need to do stand up, you appreciate him/act, all the more!!

  • Not worth the money...

by Jeanie514 on 6/23/15Morongo Casino Resort and Spa - CabazonRating: 2 out of 5

I took my husband and in-laws to see Tim Allen for Father's Day. We read the reviews before going and were leery about the performance. It was as bad as the other reviews described. He had cookie-cutter jokes about nostalgia for the old days and political correctness. Nothing new or original. It contained a lot of cussing and crass jokes with a side of sacrilege. He also included a 20 minute rant about how much she hates children. I would not recommend you see him. His opener was good.
