About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

  • Should've been Tim Allen Raw

by notbad on 5/23/16The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 2 out of 5

It was funny but sad to. He kept saying he hates kids because their dumb. It was funny also about his life events. It was a different side I didn't expect to hear. He did keep buttoning and unbuttoned his jacket. I sat close enough to watch. It got annoying.

  • Tim Allen: Too many F-bombs

by TimAllenFan5202016 on 5/23/16The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 3 out of 5

Went to see the Tim Allen from Home Improvement, Santa Clause, and Last Man Standing, and actually saw a much different Tim Allen: Crude and f-bomb loaded. Jokes about kids being the dumbest things on Earth, among others, fell flat. While the material was okay (generally good but not great), the number of f-bombs was so high as to be distracting. Definitely not a family-friendly show. Really enjoyed the opening act, Comedian Lowell Sanders, who was funnier than Tim Allen.

  • Great!

I laughed so hard I cried. Close to 2 hours of non stop laughter. Great evening out, great venue, and the opening act was AWESOME as well. Show did not disappoint. Has nothing to do with Tool Man, or any of his movies, just full on comedy and personal experiences he shares. Will surely see him again!

  • Tim Allen was awesome!

Very funny show. Lots of laughter and entertainment. Highly recommend.

  • FUNNY!!!!

Lowell sanders did a fantastic job opening for Tim. Too bad Tim's AV guy couldn't have gotten the opening video to work. I have been a Tim Allen fan since his Home Improvement days. Saw him at the Pheasant Run Theater in St. Charles ILL. back in the early 90's. He hasn't lost a step as far as I'm concerned.

  • Ranting old man not in touch with his audience

by gasperson on 5/16/16Mirage - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

I wish I had read these reviews BEFORE I purchased tickets. I could have saved myself time, money, and embarrassment. I have always considered Tim Allen the funniest man on the planet and have seen every episode of Home Improvement and Last Man Standing. I made the trip to Las Vegas with my family just to see his show. I have nothing to add to what other panning reviews have said. Apparently, the show is the same every time with no regard to current events or politics. He basically rails against his upbringing and against kids in particular. ("I hate the little f***ers.") He resorts to bathroom humor. Every other word is the f-bomb or sh**. I don't mind these words and use them myself, but even if there were any comedy in his act it would be lost in his constant profanity. I am so disappointed. I apologized to my family for dragging them across the country. I'm not certain that I will be able to watch the sixth season of Last Man Standing. I have lost all respect for Tim Allen and will certainly never view him on tv in the same admiring way again. I actually thought he liked kids.

  • Tim Allen was top notch

by Smokiejo on 4/5/16Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The whole show was hilarious from the lead off man (sorry can't remember the name) to Tim. He was hoarse for some reason, but still was his usual hilarious real-life self. So glad we got to see him. Getting into the show was a little odd in how they "lined us up" to check us in - but that would be a venue issue - not the comedian's.

  • Tim Allen at the Mirage

by SantaClausefan on 4/5/16Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

I've been wanting to see Tim Allen in person for years. I was excited to find out about the show in Vegas. I love his "Home Improvement" show and his current show, "Last Man Standing". I have to say I was disappointed in his show. He had some funny moments, but not half as funny or current as I expected. Use of F-word discussed often in reviews. I don't mind it at all when used in shows. Sometimes it just fits. However, I felt like I was watching Dance Cook, whom my HIGH SCHOOL kids found so funny, and he said it constantly too. Now his opening act, comedian Lowell Sanders, was VERY funny. We laughed out loud many times during his short monologue. Am I glad I went? Yes. Would I take the time and money to go to one of his shows again?NO. I'll definitely continue to watch his sitcoms.

  • Not what we expected

by pita2 on 4/4/16Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Tim Allen is one of our favorite actor/comedians. But we were disappointed with this stand up comic show. Granted, he wasn't feeling well, but the material was sub-par. His opening act with Lowell Sanders was much more entertaining. We just wish his act was longer. Tim was very negative about quite a few subjects. His humor was okay but nothing outstanding.

Tim was so funny! Saw him last time he was here. Thought he was funny then. And this was a huge improvement.

  • Tim is my new hero.

by DaBom on 11/16/15Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt and a couple tears escaped from one eye. Tim starts by admitting when he was young he envied rich people and liked politicians who offered him free "stuff". Then he learned that the harder he worked, the more "stuff" he was able to acquire. He really is the guy he plays on Last Man Standing. I found his language, pace and message totally refreshing and relevant to me as a middle aged white guy. He is the opposite of politically correct but he's genuine and not mean. Much of his humor is wholesome, like how your grandma or great aunt treats you when you as a kid. His language, on the other hand, is not so wholesome. But we're in Vegas and we're adults and this is the kind of stuff I came to see and do. I felt like Tim was describing my childhood and my child raising- only in a hilarious way that I can't do. His voice was suffering a little from a cold or something and I could tell he was not feeling great but he powered through and was hilarious. I totally recommend this show.

  • Awesome Show

by Anonymous on 11/10/15Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This show was incredible! So Funny, Tim Allen at his best. We laughed the entire time. This is a show you cannot miss.

  • Still Has An Edge

by Funnyjoni on 11/10/15Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic! I was surprisingly delighted. So many comedians lose their edge after doing TV and movies but this was as hilarious as any comic could be. Continous laghter all night. His obvious comfort performing live, being in the moment, reacting to the audience and his likeability are a pleasure to watch. I've seen almost every comic performing in the last 25 years and Tim Allen is definitly on the top of one my favorites list.

Lots of laughs and very relate-able! My first comedy show

  • by Anonymous on 11/10/15Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

Granted that Tim acknowledged upfront that he was not feeling well, so he gets credit for still going on with the show. Nonetheless, the show was more of a rant for 60 minutes than stand up comedy. I've been a fan of Tim as a comedic actor for years and it was a very disappointing experience. His opening act, Lowell Sanders, was actually funnier than Tim.

  • Tooo funny

by whatnextyou on 11/10/15Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

we have enjoyed TIm Allen for years and went to on of his comedy shows like 25 years ago and loved him then. I had an asmtha attack last time from laughing so hard. He is really funny but I must say the F word was not used back then, I guess I'm just old fashioned.

  • Funny, but not Mike Baxter!

by Armymom7 on 11/9/15Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Good thing I braced myself beforehand to not expect Tim the Toolman or Mike Baxter up there. Tim Allen is very, very funny. He has certainly perfected his act. He has packed his hour long show with laughs, jokes and stories. Expect a lot of crude body part humor and fart jokes, and if you don't want to hear the "f" word and "Jesus Christ!," don't go. There isn't one sentence without the "f" word.

this man is the best. Love seeing him hope he comes back.

  • Extremely entertaining, funny and a great time!

Mr. Allen's approach to stories made us laugh all the way through the show! Never a dull moment!!

  • Not so funny Tim

by Lolabunnie on 10/30/15Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 2 out of 5

First the venue is awful. Never go to a show of any kind at the emerald queen casino unless you are in the front row because you will never be able to see. Then Tim Allen was such a kletey down. He was not very funny. Nothing like his TV shows and movies.
