Tim Allen on Tour
However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.
Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.
A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.
Who is Tim Allen?
A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.
Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.
His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.
Great show at a nice embassy theater in ft wayne, people were very nice. 5 stars
Tim is just amazing. We had the Best, most enjoyable evening! The effects he left have a lasting effect!
I think the ticket prices were ridiculously high, but the show was excellent. I would see Tim Allen again in a heartbeat. Felt like the show went by way too fast because we were laughing the entire time. Not one dull moment. I'd rate the show higher than 5 stars if I could.
I have always enjoyed watching Tim Allen on TV shows and movies and I figured the “F…” word would be used some but I never expected it to be used in every sentence. I also did not appreciate Tim’s reference to God and the F word. He made references to his mother and grandmother that were unbecoming. I see Tim Allen differently now and I won’t be watching him any more on tv or in person.
Tim Allen performed at the Embassy Theater. I thought it would be a nice venue, but a large man sat right in front of my husband and me, so we couldn’t see. Then, on my other side, sat a larger woman who took up, not only her chair, but a quarter of mine as well. There needs to be a better incline for seating and maybe larger seats. Tim Allen cursed his way through the show. Apparently, I’m supposed to find that, in itself, amusing. I don’t. I love every movie and television show he’s been in, but I was not impressed with his stand-up comedy routine. I’m not a prude, but I don’t need to hear the F word every other word. I was always told, if you have to cuss that much, you’re not very intelligent. I wish I could get my money back. I’ll never look at Tim Allen the same. I lost a lot of respect for him at this show.
Was not impressed at all! Short show, bought front row seats just for those seats to be the cheap hard seats and the people that paid less money get the theater seats!
It was good. he Was on for a good part of the time. I was hoping for a more.
Tim Allen should stay off the road. He is ruining his reputation and the movies he stars in. He isn’t funny at stand up. I don’t care how much money he has some things you just aren’t too good at. If he is going to continue stand up he needs to hire a top notch team to write for him and rehearse so he has a delivery punch line of some sort. The show started with a drop down movie screen of about 10 minutes of clips of all he has done over the years. That was the best part keeping in mind if I am at the show I already know all his accomplishments. Just make us laugh. He didn’t have the crowd at all. And some people that worked at the embassy theater in fort Wayne had signs trying to get his attention a that made him ignore this side of the room more. We were in the second row and employees were making a huge distraction talking loud about things with the sign maybe that everyone in my section was turned to the 5 employees making the commotion. It was very disrespectful and Tim Allen just was not funny at all. If I watch Santa clause again I will think how he hates kids now. Wish I could have left a better review.
We were so excited to see Tim Allen it was a birthday gift and in my birthday.drove an hour. Seats up close and we’re ready for fun. He really disappointed us. His act wasn’t put together and felt like he winged it and his opening act was soo good. We paid a lot to be up close. He didn’t even look to his left side of the room but maybe twice. We did wait to meet after. And only 7 people were waiting and he jumped in the car and didn’t even look out way and took off. I’m glad I got to see him because we would have always wondered. I still like Tim Allen’s shows but wouldn’t go back to a live standup for him. Sorry guys. Wish I could say better.
Very good very funny glad I went very funny very good glad I went
First comedian was very good. But we were disappointed with Tim Allen. His TV shows and movies are funny but his stand up comedy was not at all. I can take some crude humor but his wasn’t very good. He sounded angry not entertaining
Bad. Not funny. Hard to follow. Did not enjoy. Do not recommend.
Tim Allen and Lowell Sanders were spot on hilarious and did not withhold any worry of offending anyone in the audience. It was great to see these two comedians live. Definitely worth watching again!
Sold out. Opener was great. Tim Allen. Does curse alot. And takes time to get in the groove of his style. By the end you don't even notice. Tim did over a hour. Upon walking out others said the same. You gotta get in the groove. I would go again.
Tim Allen was hysterical! A must see. I would recommend to anyone that wants to laugh continuously. He had one heckler and it was amazing to see how he turned that moment into something funny. He can read a room and plays to his audience. Can't wait to see him again.
First off, if you have ever wondered or considered seeing Tim Allen live... Totally worth it. We laughed and cried laughing all night long. Now, as for the Hard Rock Cafe in Wheatland...yes its in Wheatland though they advertise it as "Sacramento"... its a mixed review. The casino overall is nice and we enjoyed the steakhouse but for a casino bearing the "Hard Rock"name we were a bit taken a back at how basic the theatre for the event felt. Especially having just seen an event at the Thunder Valley venue. It just felt like a throwback to an old school gymnasium / auditorium. They do have concession stands at the very front but due to how that is all staged lines back up quickly with the concession stands offering both food, beer, wine and mixed drinks. Would be good if they had a number of "cocktail/beverage"stands that were located away from the normal concessions to help alleviate things. In fairness they do have a few beer / wine locations but they are right in front of where the concession stands are so you still get the traffic jam effect. Anyway, bottom line... if you are going to the Hard Rock for an event prepare to not be impressed. It's serviceable venue but our standards are now higher given the experience we had with Thunder Valley and The Venue there.
Was not too happy with venue. Thankfully, they had the screens which was the best way to see the show, even if only in row L. The lead up comedian was excellent. Really enjoyed him. Tim was the Tim we love. We love his humor & weren't disappointed. I would have like him on the stage for a longer time.
Tim Allen has always been one of my favorite comics ever, in all his shows from Home Improvement, Last Man Standing, and all his feature movies 🍿 like the Santa Claus series, to the Toy Story movies and all his other movies he’s been working on over the years, but to see him in person on stage doing his stand up act has been a highlight for me, getting to know a little bit more about his life and personality has made me an even bigger fan!!
Great show. Well worth the money. Grew up watching Home improvement and still watch it to this day and Tim’s stand up did not disappoint. Zero complaints. Would gladly go to another show of his again
Evening was entertaining. Tim talks about his life and is hilarious.
