About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

  • We walked out

by FishingMike on 6/6/17Talking Stick Resort - ScottsdaleRating: 1 out of 5

We moved to Arizona from California 8 years ago for my job. Tim Allen bashed California and Californians during his entire show. We finally walked out during his last tirade. What was most disturbing was the clapping and cheering of the audience while he was putting down California. It made us very uncomfortable to be there. His constant right-wing, conservative rhetoric and insults to women seemed to never end as well.

  • Really good to laugh!

Took my hubby for his 50th birthday. He has loved Tim for years in all of his various roles. It was great to see him in person. The time flew by and we laughed pretty much the whole time.

  • Disappointing

by Gozee on 5/9/17Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

Tim Allen was moderately entertaining. However his language was foul, unnecessary and abusive. His subject matter was not funny and he appeared to be more angry than anything. He spoke of hating children which is never appreciated. And, again, his constant use of foul language added nothing to his presentation.

  • Tim Allen on his A game

by OutdoorToolMan on 4/11/17Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time I have seen Tim Allen doing stand-up. From the time he hit the stage until his last bit, he had me and the audience in stitches. He comes across as just a regular guy with funny stories about his life. While he uses profanity in the performance, it is not for shock value to get laughs, but rather fits into his "normal" guy routine. He is just like sitting around and talking with friends, only with hilarious stories! I thoroughly enjoyed the show, and would see him again...and again....and again.

  • Tim Allen - Awesome

by GrannyAtti on 2/2/17Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We were impressed with Tim Allen's performance. He was on stage for about an hour and 20 minutes and never hesitated once in his act. We laughed with tears rolling down our cheeks. His segways from story to story were phenomenal. Be aware of lots of spicy language. It is not a show for children or anyone easily offended by foul language. We would go again and again!

  • Not what I expected

by Unfiltered on 11/29/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 1 out of 5

This was the first time at this venue and I was disappointed. I envisioned something greater than folding chairs crammed together and a hot muggy room. So my hope was for Tim Allen to rescue me from my initial misery but that did not happen. My wife and I enjoy Tim's TV sitcom Last Man Standing so we figured why not go see him in person. Right before we went to see him a friend informed us that his language tends to bit 'colorful' so my thought was well it can't be that bad. The opening act was fairly funny with some language thrown in here and there then Tim came out and the first thing he talked about was the F word and then kept talking about it till he switched over to nearly every cuss word I had ever heard. It got to the point I felt if you edited every cuss word he said there would be no substance left. Well this is not what I had imagined or had hoped for and did not find it entertaining at all but an embarrassment that I took my wife to this not to mention how much I paid for it. We lasted 15 minutes then we got up a quietly left. Perhaps it's my fault for not checking this out before I bought the tickets. On the positive side I can say it was a lesson learned to check out any other venues and performances in the future.

  • Best Comedy show in a long time!

by Brakeman on 11/7/16Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding. From the moment Allen went on stage the show just kept us laughing.

  • Funny but not hilarious

    by Tacoma1 on 11/1/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 3 out of 5

The opening act was just as funny as Tim Allen. Tim Allen was funny, but I didn't laugh as hard as I thought I would. I expected more lines related to the "Home Improvement" times. He had some good politically incorrect lines.

  • Foul mouth

by TimsyMac on 10/24/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 2 out of 5

To borrow a line from the show, using the F-word is lazy. Lots and lots of laziness. I wish he had listened to his grandma.

  • Tim was authentic

Very entertaining and funny. He tells his life story which is very interesting.

  • So Disappointing

by DaShOu on 10/18/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 1 out of 5

So, the opening act to Tim Allen was much cleaner and funnier. We are LONG TIME fans of Tim Allen's sitcoms "Home Improvement" and "Last Man Standing." Home Improvement got me and my kids through some pretty tough times...we were able to laugh together every night watching reruns. This live show was so disappointing because it did not seem like Mr. Allen knew or cared to know his audience. He could have made jokes about the Seattle area, hunters, fishermen/women, marriage (we are an older crowd), getting older, kids, or anything but angels, farts and the "R" word . He used the "R" word when talking about people with disabilities. I expected him not to be "PC," but, saying that "R" people only wear funny hats and shoes was uncalled for. He obviously does not have anyone in his family with cognitive/intellectual delays. Most people around me did not laugh at his jokes about people and populations who can't help the way they are. Also, he didn't seem prepared at all. It was almost like he didn't want to be there. He overused the F word. I'm not offended by the F word, but he seemed to just throw it in and it didn't necessarily make anything funnier. He just seemed angry. I would not recommend this show. It's a waste of money, especially with the poor venue. I have seen better shows in nicer venues for less money.

It was an awesome show. He's still on point! Recommended to any comedy fan!!!

  • OK but venue...

by MrPRM on 10/18/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 3 out of 5

Tim Allen was good but at times a little raunchy. He was very funny most of the time. But the venue, Emerald Queen Casino was terrible. First it took 20 minutes to find a parking spot. Then after walking through the entire length of the casino we got to the showroom. With only two narrow exits it was not very well set up. The chairs, folding chairs, were very narrow. We will never go to another venue at Emerald Queen Casino.

  • wish tim was our friend

tim was great. honesty is definitely his trait. would go again if given the chance

  • Tim Allen and EQC were pretty poor

by Anonymous on 10/18/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 1 out of 5

The venue was smokey, the person to my left crowded my seat (which thankfully meant I snuggled with my wife instead), the people to my right were talking loudly and being yelled at by everyone else to be quite (they were eventually kicked out). Tim Allen wasn't that funny; he seems to be better when someone else writes his comedy. Really the opening act was the best part of the show.

  • lots of laughs

by chichichacha on 10/18/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 4 out of 5

We laughed a lot between the opening act and Tim Allen. The seats were comfortable and it was a nice atmosphere for a comedy show. We were able to see the stage and the big screens were a nice touch to be able to see him better. We would definitely go back to another show there.

  • Wish I could have gone. Stupid "STORM"

    by DGM33 on 10/18/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 3 out of 5

I was super excited and looking forward to this show. I love Tim Allen and have for years. Problem is, the weather service predicted the "storm of the century" to hit at exactly the time of the show. My wife and decided it wasn't worth risking our safety to venture out when multiple reputable sources predicted the same thing. And then nothing. Nada. Squat. I'm SO bummed. Please, Tim, come back!!

  • Tim Allen

    by Leidy1 on 10/18/16Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 3 out of 5

When Tim Allen was just sharing his thoughts he was extremely funny. But, to be honest, he would have been a lot funnier without all the obscenities. For a man who claims to be religious he said "GD" frequently. That was difficult to hear. Would I recommend my friends and family to see him? Yes, with warnings.
