About

Tim Allen on Tour

However busy he may be as one of comedy's biggest stars on screens big and small, Tim Allen stays true to his stand-up roots. Audiences for his live performances are just as eager to show their appreciation for his warm, wry and sometimes wild take on life in America, raising families and getting older.

Allen has honed his signature brand of observational comedy since he began earning laughs in clubs in the mid '70s. One of the most iconic performers to emerge from the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, he rose through the ranks in the '80s before finding fame on Home Improvement, his long-running ABC sitcom. His engaging and hilarious performances as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story and hapless dad Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause led to two of Hollywood's most popular family-movie franchises. In 2011, he returned to television as the star of Last Man Standing, another hit sitcom that began its eighth season in 2020.

A series of live shows to promote his 2010 film Crazy on the Outside led to a renaissance for Allen's stand-up career and his first stand in Las Vegas since 1993. He continues to regularly perform in venues all over the US.

Who is Tim Allen?

A star at home on both screen and stage, Tim Allen has been a favorite of audiences ever since he broke out of the pack of future greats who found their voices at Los Angeles' iconic Comedy Store in the '80s.

Born in Colorado and raised in Michigan, Allen began his comedy career in clubs and on cable-access shows in the Detroit area in the mid '70s. After overcoming personal troubles and moving to Los Angeles, he soon became known for a sharp brand of observational humor that reflected his everyman perspective and was anything but politically correct. Allen found another means of showcasing his wry take on love, marriage and family life when his sitcom Home Improvement began its hugely successful run on ABC in 1991. His star rose higher with his performances in Toy Story and The Santa Clause, two big-screen family hits that spawned blockbuster franchises.

His other film credits include Christmas with the Kranks, Zoom, Crazy on the Outside and The Shaggy Dog. His two books Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I'm Not Really Here were bestsellers. In 2011, he returned to television to star in Last Man Standing, another long-running hit sitcom. Allen continues to perform live for audiences throughout the US.

I went to go see Tim Allen in the same venue a couple of years ago, and he didn’t disappoint then, and he certainly did not disappoint this time! It’s refreshing to experience a set by a comedian who doesn’t conform to the Hollywood agenda! The man is a true legend!

  • Great Show

Lots of laughs. Worth every penny. I would definitely go see them again.

Tim Allen was a great show. Only wished the venue had food to offer instead of just chips.

  • Don’t Waste Your Money

by AJ on 8/21/23Rating: 1 out of 5

My husband and I are huge fans of Tim Allen…ALL of his work…EXCEPT his live show. He had a hard time keeping his thoughts together, he jumped from subject to subject without a flow, and the sexual content was vulgar and had no relevance. He was onstsge for only 45 minutes to an hour which is ridiculous for the amount of money we paid for tickets. During his act, he yawned twice, and was rubbing his eyes as though we were keeping him up and we were at the 4pm show…NOT the late show. His opener, Lowell Sanders was amazing, and had us crying with laughter. We could’ve listened to him for the rest of the show and left Tim behind the curtain. Maybe that’s where he should’ve stayed, because then my image of him wouldn’t have changed. Tim needs to get some new material…or maybe he should ask Lowell Sanders to write some for him. So sad! My husband and I don’t get offended at anything, but I really had to look at him differently when he said he hates kids and talked about the retarded. There are just some things that aren’t funny.

  • Worst comedy show

by Lor on 8/19/23Rating: 1 out of 5

One of the worst comedy shows I have ever seen. I was absolutely appalled to see Tim take on a completely different perspective than “santa claus”, “buzz light year” and “tool man”. Completely shattered my view on him. Not only did he swear every 2 seconds and doesnt know any other words besides the F word…The whole show consisted of male genitalia, farts, hating children, shooting his grandma, and making fun of transgenders. Absolute disappointment and would not recommend. Doesnt even deserve one star. I didnt even laugh on episode

  • Amazing!

    by M. K. on 6/8/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Grew up watching him on tv. Love him even more in person! I was stoked to have the opportunity to see him live in Vegas! Hope I get the chance again. Loved hearing his stories and thought he was absolutely hilarious! Highly recommend. I honestly love that people are offended by him. I don’t get it, and I didn’t hear anything offensive. But if you are, it makes me laugh even harder! Hahaha

  • Eventually funny but started slow/low

by Ashley on 5/25/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 4 out of 5

Definitely didn’t realize the amount of language used by Tim. More than I usually care for. He started off low, the jokes and stories weren’t landing but then he built up great steam. By the end we were laughing good!

  • Awesome show

by Tango on 5/24/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 5 out of 5

Totally did not know what to expect, but totally loved his show. He was hilarious and enjoyed seeing him at Choctaw Grand Theater which is a wonderful venue. The comedian warm up was great as well.

  • Tim Allen

A little disappointed at the need for so much foul language.

  • Wow!

by Jim & Minh on 5/24/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible. Probably the best standup I’ve ever seen in my life. Tim was absolutely amazing. Loved every minute of the show.

  • Tim Allen was funny!!!

by JR on 5/23/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 4 out of 5

He talked & joked about him growing up & his family. I knew some of it already but some stories he told were hilarious, especially if you have almost the same amount of siblings as he. Just wished I could’ve gotten tickets to the stage.

  • Tim Allen -Terrible, worst comedy ever!!

by Choctaw Casino guest on 5/23/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 1 out of 5

He started with the “F” bomb and never stopped. EVERY OTHER WORD was the F bomb or GD. I expected a family comedy, it was far from family friendly and it was never even funny. He talked about going to jail years ago and how much he hated kids in the Santa movie he starred in. We sat for an hour and a half thinking it would get better but never did. Several couples around us left early into the show and we should have too. I paid almost $200 per ticket that was not worth a nickel. I’d like a refund!!! This is not a show I would not recommend EVER!!! I hate to even give him one star but a star was required to submit.

  • Tim ok

by JC on 5/23/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 2 out of 5

I am sure this effected my feelings of the show. I was in section 102. There by myself. The seats were way to close to each other. The guy on my right was so big that it forsed me to lean left and the woman to my left had bathed in perfume. I ended up leaving my seat and leaning against the wall for the whole show. The opening guy was very good. But Tim just seemed angry to me.

  • Fabulous and Hysterical!

by Brent S. on 5/23/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 5 out of 5

From the moment Tim Allen took the stage, until his last joke, my guests and I were extremely entertained. Tim’s real life experiences that he brings into his comedy performance were fantastic. And we learned a little more about him through his art. Highly recommended to anybody thinking about seeing his show!

  • Disappointed

    by M. W. on 5/23/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 1 out of 5

While Tim Allen was funny at times, I felt like he was yelling at people most of the time. He seemed really angry at the world.

  • Poor value

by Gospurs on 5/23/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 1 out of 5

Seats are too close together to ever get comfortable. This fact alone, for the price, makes for an unpleasant experience.

  • First Hand

by Nicky B on 5/23/23Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first time seeing him live and He was so funny and Raw as hell. It was a great live show.

  • Disgusting and vulgar show

    by K. S. on 5/21/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Do not waste your money on this show! It was pure trash, and I am absolutely disgusted and disappointed with Tim Allen! We left after 10 minutes because he said the F word nonstop along with every other cuss word. He was so vulgar, and he even mocked God, which was absolutely the worst thing he could do!! A rating of one star is way more than he deserves!! I wish I could get a refund!!

  • Disappointing!

by GraceMont on 5/20/23Rating: 1 out of 5

We have been Tim Allen fans since “Home Improvement” and have enjoyed watching him in such a wholesome comedy in “Last Man Standing.” We should have looked at the reviews before purchasing our tickets for tonight’s performance in Durant, OK. We were not prepared for the continued use of the F-word and claiming God created it. He also said he hates children. The image we had of America's favorite dad was erased. It was NOT funny and a complete waste of time and money.
