Legendary night by a great group of musicians

by PacoJoe7 on 12/23/19The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port Chester

The Weight with the Dap King Horns and Willy Nile doing The Band's Rock of Ages was just spectacular. Hope they get together for other nights like this.

Incredible show, Remember Jones was a great showman, great to see Willie Nile performing with The Weight. The Weight did an incredible job of performing The Band songs and the horns were amazing !! Capital Theater is an awesome venue also.

    Could Have Been Better

by Suse on 12/23/19The Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY - Port Chester

The first Band that came out (Jones) was full of energy, but the band drowned out the main singer most of the time. The Weight Band did not show enough energy throughout their performance. I thought the bass player sang so softly that I lost interest in the songs. They could have done a guitar solo with a few of the guys. Did not see much of Jim Weider playing which I came for. I thought the hit was Willie Nile who brought people singing and showed some life to the concert. He was very good.

    Excellent

by Keith on 6/25/19The Paramount - Huntington

I have been seeing this band for years at this point, but this was my first time with some new personnel. I was super impressed with the musicianship and how they carry the style and spirit of the Band. Brian Mitchell and Jim Weider were off the charts instrumentally and all members filled their roles exceptionally.

    The Weight

by BOB P on 6/25/19The Paramount - Huntington

I have been following the band since their first show at Infinity Hall. This was hands down one of the best shows I've seen them do. They were having a great time playing together and the energy spread throughout the audience. Was great to see the number of younger fans in the audience.

    Great night of music

by Little one on 4/21/19Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

The venue has great sound and makes the music experience very intimate. Having seats in the fourth row center probably helped a lot. The music was excellent and the musicians were so talented and professional. They played a great mix of old and new. We thoroughly enjoyed this concert.

    More than a tribute band!

by Daddyo56 on 2/12/18Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Having never actually seen The Band in their heyday, I'm hesitant to say this group is the "next best thing". More than a tribute band, these men have played, or been associated with the post Robbie Robertson, reformed Band and individual members' own solo acts. We in the audience were treated to many Band favorites(The Weight - of course, Stage Fright, Rag Mama Rag), but also some deep cuts - Across the Great Divide, King Harvest, Tears of Rage and for the encore Chest Fever. Additionally they performed some of their own material featured on their current album World Gone Mad. The vocals, musicianship and energy were top notch. Next time I'd love to hear Katy's Been Gone, Long Black Veil and It Makes No Difference! Great show!

    Great show

by gwmeade on 3/7/17Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

This was the second time we saw The Weight. These musicians are super talented. The setlist was good. The only song I wished they had done was When I Paint My Masterpiece. Some songs really miss the voices of Rick and Richard. Those voices are tough to emulate. I really enjoyed Like A Rolling Stone. They did not do that the first time I saw them. The audience was really into this show as were the musicians so it was a very enjoyable evening.

Great concert but not exactly as advertised

by Esselle on 3/7/17Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Had a lot of fun. The musicians were top notch and they played all the classic The Band songs. My only complaint is that contrary to the advertisement, none of the original band members were part of the band. They did say the guitarist had played with The Band but that was obviously not what was expected. So really this is a tribute band.

The Weight was well worth it!!!

by MichaelH7962 on 3/7/17Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

This is an excellent group of musicians who are keeping the music of The Band alive. Though there are no members from The Band's original lineup, they have played with The Band and/or its members. The Weight brought the crowd at the Amaturo Theater to its feet during or after several songs and much of the crowd surged to the stage for the encores. They are much more than a cover band, they play some of the finest music we will ever hear with great talent and enthusiasm. The Weight was well worth it!!! What a fun night!!
