Brian Mitchell rocked the house. Jim Weider carried the soul of The Band. Don't miss it.

    great energy

by Bunkl on 3/6/17Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

I loved that they had a full band, with drummer, 2 guitars, organ and piano. All of the musicians were amazing, and they played all of The Band's hits, including 3 encores. The show far exceeded our expectations.

This is a great rendition of The Band's music. Everyone is top notch, you wont hear a better Band band. The King Harvest Horns were great too.

    take a load off Annie

by TB714 on 12/13/16The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

The Weight band was great ! Unfortunately the crowd at the Welmont took the lyrics too literally and decided to take a load off by sitting the entire time in their seats. Shame on them!!! And you would get yelled at by security if you stood up! REALLY??? you can't stand at a rock concert?? Levon Helm is turning in his grave. There is nothing a band likes more than seeing their hard effort and musical talent appreciated by people actually getting up, dancing and shaking their bones. Shame on the Welmont for putting all those chairs in the dance floor. When DSO plays they know better to do that. And that lame crowd should stay at home on their couch and listen to a dvd.

    The Weight

    by Bluzmn63 on 5/10/16The Paramount - Huntington

This is no cover or tribute band.Everyone of these guys is the real deal, and can draw a straight line directly to Levon Helm.Their list of credits both as individuals and collectively reads like a who's who of rock and roll.

As Close As Possible, The Weight are The Band!!!

by HogWldFLTR on 4/12/16Blue Ocean Music Hall - Salisbury

I have no idea why the house was sparse, maybe it's been too long since 1976 when the initial incarnation of The Band played their Last Waltz and many have forgotten the impact that they had on music? Hard to say. This was as close as it gets and the music the voices and the act were as close as it gets to the original. I suspect it has to do with most of the musicians having played with The Band's member in different incarnation of the group and its off-shoots since the groups initial demise. The music was rocking and the crown thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The Blue Ocean is a fantastic intimate room for such a performance as well. I couldn't have asked for anything better!!!

Excellent musicians performing The Band's hits

by MiamiDreamer on 4/4/16Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

My first rock & roll concert was The Band, in the early 1970's. I still count that among my favorites. So I was happy when I learned that a tribute band of amazing musicians, with many personal ties to The Band, was coming to town to perform The Band's most memorable songs. This was an intimate concert, and was not promoted well. But everyone who came had a great time! When I closed my eyes, I was transported back to the show I saw in the 70's. Most of the songs were so lively, many folks danced, and it was an older crowd. Many of their renditions were spot-on, even though it is hard to recreate the vocals of Levon Helm and Rick Danko, with their iconic voices. After the show, several band members came to the merch table, signed autographs, and regaled us with stories of their experiences with The Band.

    Blown away

by trustedreviewer on 4/1/16Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

What happens when you combine some of the best American music with some of the most talented players?? Catch a show on this tour and you'll find out. Felt like early 70s all over again. Tight and spirited performances - original and peripheral members of the Band. Jim Weider can hang with anyone on a stage with a guitar in his hand. As big a Telecaster monster he is - he is an equally warm and engaging person. Hung out with fans after the showi, sharing smiles and pictures. So very humble. And again, so very talented. If your a Band fan, a rock and roll fan or just love great music played by guys who put the word "pro" in professional musicians, this is the gig. Jeff S.

Take a load off Fanny... no waiting!

by OldFMdj on 3/30/16Amaturo Theatre - Fort Lauderdale

Go see them. It's that simple. They played in Fort Lauderdale at a wonderful venue the Amaturo at Broward and I was lucky to be in the front row. Brought back many memories of seeing the Band and also Levon Helm in Woodstock back in the day of FM radio gigs and concerts to live by. The set list was excellent. The Night They Drove Ol Dixie Down, Rag Mama Rag, Stage Fright, The Weight, Ophelia... actually a dream of Band favorites strung together with a "band" of excellent musicians. Be prepared to get a donut stuck in your teeth! Uploaded a few photos Marty Grebb and Brian Mitchell were great too!

    Great Show. Great Musicians

by CarlWG on 1/3/16South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

This is one of the shows you need to see. This is a group of very good musicians and the songs are performed really well. The group is tight and the sound great. I took a group of friends that did not really know The Band but as soon as the music started they recognized and loved the music. Overall it was a memorable evening. Being a Deep Tracks radio station listener I wanted to hear Acadian Driftwood but they did not play it but I was still very happy with the setlist.

    Great "Band" tunes

I wasn't sure what to expect as I didn't recognize any of the musicians, but they were very tight and played all the old favorites.

    The Weight plays The Band

by Anonymous on 1/2/16South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

Great Show!! The musicians were excellent. They played all of The Band's early hits. They added some intros and solos but basically played the songs with their original arrangements. The vocals were adequate but you can't expect anyone to be as good as Levon Helm, Richard Manuel and Rick Danko. I highly recommend The Weight to anyone who likes good rock n roll music. Thank you for coming to the West Coast and for continuing to play this great music!!

    Taken in

by Piglips on 6/29/15Blue Ocean Music Hall - Salisbury

I went to this concert not knowing what to expect since Levon was not going to be there etc. I went thinking if I could just hear a few of my favorites I would be happy since seeing these guys in one form or another was on my bucket list. They put on an exceptional show. It was fun, they sounded great and so many of the songs, The Weight, Stage Fright, Cripple Creek were really well done. If you have the chance its a great take and you will be happy you went.
