    For gamers

by Confused on 12/11/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

While we were excited about going to an “interactive” performance this left us wanting. There were so many gamer and D&D references that we felt left out from really enjoying it. We hung in for the entire performance as the voting by phone was fun but left scratching our heads. Definitely designed for gamers.

    Fun and great energy!

by Maplewhy on 12/6/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I took my 15 year old with the family for his birthday. He and my older teenage son both loved the performance! Getting teens to sit for something like this is amazing, but they were completely immersed. The format is wonderful for the times in which we live. And, the performances were so funny and had so many unexpected moments... A show like this keeps you on your toes. The audience interactions are fun and harmless. Also, this is great for adults, as well. It's just good improv mixed with technology.

I took my kids who are into D&D, ended up enjoying it too!

by KWS on 12/5/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

My daughter and her friend are into D & D and so they were very excited about seeing this show. I wasn't so sure how much of it I would enjoy or understand. The "Tavern" twist also had me worried as I don't drink and didn't want my kids exposed to a drunken mess. I was pleasantly surprised that all of my concerns were for naught! While there was a little bit of drinking, it did not interfere with the show. Thankfully, no one was impaired because of it. Next, I don't know the first thing about Dungeons & Dragons, but I enjoyed the interactions with the audience and found our being put on teams and voting kept us all very invested in this fun show. We are seriously considering coming back again another day to see the differences in the show based on the characters and roles. Great job!

    Unique, Creative, Fun!

Really enjoyable and different experience. Fun for all ages, interactive (but only if you want to and still enjoyable if you don't). Lots of laughs too.

    So much fun!

by Dea on 11/29/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

We all had a wonderful time. Funny, engaging, with riddles and games and voting! We were a party of four, with only one who was into D&D, but the rest of us had so much fun despite not having ever played! The actors were engaging and funny, even acrobatic! Clever, funny, adventurous. Audience participation added to the fun

    Disappointed

by L.Purcell on 11/23/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I was looking forward to seeing this, but was ready to leave within the first ten minutes. My husband said we had to give it a chance and at least stay till intermission. That was a wasted hour. It should have been advertised as a two hour period of watching friends play dungeons and dragons, because that’s what it was. The actors had great energy, so I gave them a one.

    Loved it!!!!

by K. D. on 11/22/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I had so much fun at this show! The cast was very engaging and made it very entertaining for us. I ended up on the Mage's team surrounded by a fighter and a rogue which made it even more fun. I laughed the whole time at their shenanigans. I would totally go see it again, and bring my friends too.

Fun, light and very entertaining. The actors and actresses did great with the parts of the show that were audience directed. I would go back and see again.

    Fun and quirky time

by Birthday Kid on 11/17/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

As a fan of both improv and Dungeons and Dragons, this show was amazing! Our heroes were great at sticking together, the game master was great at changing voices (and wigs) to suit the changing NPCs, and the tavern keeeper was able to dole out shots so well. The flow of the game didn't have the stalls that sometimes fall into DnD due to the inclusion of mini games and challenges. The adaptation for both stage and improv were well done. My family laughed the whole way through and felt triumphant when our heroes were able to successfully complete the end task. Overall, a quirky fun time with a familiar feel. I would definitely go again!

    Never Played Dungeons and Dragons

by Bob on 11/15/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

First, the performances were incredible. Wonderfully staged. But it was clear from the beginning, that unless we were familiar with playing D&D, we were not going to understand the nuances of the gameplay and what really was driving the narrative. I'd recommend it to D&D players.

Love the freedom for Audience Involvement

    by The Craddocks on 11/13/22

My face hurts from smiling and laughing so much. It was over much too soon. I have NEVER seen 5 people so lively and full of zest. Their quick wit and comedic timing was on point. Dagl's story-telling was filled with whimsy and pizzazz! We loved it. We saw the show on November 12, 2022. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. Been playing DND for over 2 years now and we love it. Thank you for bringing it to life both visually and emotionally. So glad we got to experience such an amazing show. From one slimy, rambunctious llama to another (you had to be there), "Ale! And well met!"

    Loads of Fun

by L. R. on 11/9/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

We had a great time at this show. The cast also looked like they were having as much fun as we were. Took a little for me to get into the rhythm of the show, once there I had a blast. Have already purchased tickets to see it again to see how the audience changes the outcome of the storyline.

    Fun, Fun, Fun

by JTK on 11/8/22Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Once you get the hang of using your phone during the performance, you slide into the spirit of things in a big way! Love the silliness and the performances and especially the KINDNESS the cast showed to any audience member brave enough to help out when volunteers were needed. Nice show to bring kids to as well.
