The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

  • Performance was superb!!

by efdsa on 12/7/11Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The "boys" were in fine voice and sang some beautiful arrangements of familiar songs. The audience was especially appreciative of their rendition of Alleluia. Their solo numbers were also well received. The holiday songs were done in beautiful harmony. All in all, a wonderful concert. I was disappointed that they did not perform my personal favorite, the Adagio in G Minor. My one BIG complaint was the set up in the Wilbur Theater. They arranged the seating cafe-style - tiny tables around which were placed 6 chairs. It did not offer the best viewing of the stage for 3-4 people at each table - they had to crane their necks to see. I would have much preferred normal row seating.

  • The Canadian Tenors were unbelieveable!

    by F450Diesel on 12/7/11Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

They were everything I thought they would be and more. They brought chills to my spine. Such beautiful, pure voices. I am so glad I went to see them in person after only seeing them on TV. It was a night to remember.

  • Boston's Adopted Favorites

by LMHmwh on 12/7/11Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Second time here, second time seeing them, they take your breath away. A must see when they come back. The best rendition of THE PRAYER I have ever heard, it brings tears to my eyes. Their voices are both soft and powerful at the same time. I can't wait for their new CD to come out next spring. It's been a long time over due.

  • Tenors are the best

by Trinney on 12/7/11Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I took my Mom to this show as a gift to her and it ended up being a real treat for me. The show was fantastic, their voices are wonderful and the humor they brought to the show was just as entertaining as hearing them sing. I will admit I am a Rock n Roller at heart but I can honestly say I enjoyed this show as much as any rock concert I've been to. The theater we were at was a little run down and our original seats where broken so we had to be relocated. But I can't complain because they found us seats about 15 feet from the stage. I will make it a point to see these guys everytime they come to the boston area.

This was my second time at a Canadian Tenors performance. I loved the first one and ran out to buy both of their CDs immediately after. This performance was even better. Their sense of humor and charm, combined with their talent made for an unforgettable show! I look forward to their next CD and can't wait until they return to Boston.

  • The Canadian Tenors were amazing.....

    by cot822 on 12/7/11Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I love this group of fine talented musicians. Always there for me..was one of our wedding songs..and we just love this group.. We would like to see them again for sure.. Their voices are just magical. The best thing about this group of men is how they give back to society and the injustices that they see; they don't just talk, they walk the walk and do something about it. This is the most appealing thing about them. I wish them much success, Love, Happiness and Good Health

  • What a performance!

by BigCTfan on 12/4/11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I have become big CT fans. The performance in Windsor was our 2nd visit to one of their performances. This was not as intimate as the one in Arlington, VA last year but it was fantastic none the less. It's music I could listen to all day long....

The Tenors have great voices. The Sound Man at The Windsor Coliseum did The Canadian Tenors a great injustice by craking the sound volume so high that it hurt my ears as well as my wife's. I had to put my fingers in my ears to make the sound tolerable!

  • The Canadian Tenors are magical

  • Ridiculously Incrediable Canadian Tenors!!

by Anonymous on 3/15/11Fox Performing Arts Center - RIVERSIDERating: 5 out of 5

We knew it would be amazing but that word is too mild to discribe how great these guys are.Through the years I have seen many concerts including the original Queen and front row center seats to Elton John at Dodger Stadium in 1975, but these guys topped them all! Our seats were perfect! Being up that close to hear and see perfection was a very emotional and fullfilling experience. When they come back we are there! Thank-you a million times........!

  • Canadian Tenors were amazing!!

Each of these 4 guys has an amazing voice and when they sing together it's like being in heaven. The music they create is so beautiful, so moving, so mezmorizing that you feel like you're in another place. The quality of their voices is unmatched by any other performers today.

The Canadian Tenors are awe-inspiring. They take you into another world and you don't want to come back. I just wanted them to keep singing. Intermission was longer then I thought.

  • Canadian Tenors

by 91766 on 3/15/11Fox Performing Arts Center - RIVERSIDERating: 4 out of 5

They sang like Angels. If just filled your heart with love and joy when they sang. They were extremely entertaining. Dressed sharp. Performed sharp, band was awesome too. My only disppointment if any would be the length of time they sang. 50 min and 45 min. Too short for the cost of the tickets. Thanks...Tony

I have seen the Canadian Tenors twice. The Balboa Theatre is an amazing venue. We couldn't possibly enjoyed the concert more. It was exciting to have them sign their cd's and meet them in person. It was a terrific show and I will go again when and if they come back to San Diego.
