About

The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

  • Highlight of my life

    by ks30540 on 11/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I had seen the PBS concert on tv and seen them on Oprah - neither compared to hearing and seeing them in person. They came out to the lobby after the concert to sign CDs and DVDs and the line waiting was very long. True dedication to meet and greet after the wonderful concert. I would definitely go to their next concert in Atlanta. True talent!! I thought there was a problem with the sound the first half, but whatever it was, it was corrected in the last half.

It was absolutely fabulous. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. I wish we could hear more of them. The tenors were fantastic. They were very personable with the audience and made us at ease and we waned to participate in their conversation. I hope they return to Atlanta soon.

I am not one to like their kind of music, but wife does. So I decided to take you and would suffer through it. Boy was I surprised!! They were great. Great harmony, and good interaction with the audience. Nice stories to introduced songs. I would go again.

  • Amazing voices

by purpal on 11/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The Canadian Tenors made music that took your breath away at times. They were consumate entertainers with great stage presence, engaging personalities and unique voices, not to mention incredible talent! I particularly appreciated the way they showed respect for each other by visually focusing on the musician/singer doing a solo. That is real class. I will go see them every chance I get, even if I have to travel more than the 1000 miles I traveled for this concert! It was well worth it!

The Canadian Tenors were fabulous. They are a very talented group of men. I loved their versions of Hallelujah, Adagio, and Remember Me!! And the song Instrument of Peace from their Christmas CD is my new favorite song! The guys were outside after the performance to meet the fans and they were so nice. They all said hello and thanked you for coming. I would absolutely go again! I hope they come back to Atlanta soon!!

This was the best concert I have ever been to!! I love the Canadian Tenors, and this was my husband's introduction to them. We had a great night watching and listening.....I would love to see them again. We didn't get to meet them, but hopefully next time we will. Being a Canadian, I was very proud of the Tenors performance, they are certainly something Canada can be very proud of.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Worth every penny and more.

  • The Canadian Tenors were amazing & personable

by Jmrmonk on 11/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The Canadian Tenors are an amazing group. They made the concert personable. Each one of them are very talented. They sing, play guitar & piano. I definitely would see them in concert again. The only reason this review didn't get five stars is because the drums overpowered Fraser & Clifton in the first act. Their mics were adjusted for the second half. Then we could hear their amazing voices better.

  • Canadian Tenors in Atlanta-beautiful and fun show!

by DianaSC on 11/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Last week I had purchased the Canadian Tenors new holiday CD entitiled The Perfect Gift and loved it so decided to drive from Charleston and see them in Atlanta at the Woodruff Center on Nov. 20th. The show was just unforgettable with a great blend of classical and contemporary songs; the Canadian folk song and the number with a Brazilian beat were terrific too. The four voices are different and distinctive and yet somehow blend beautifully. But what makes this group stand apart in my opinion, in addition to their masterful voices, are the personalities of the tenors. They are very personable down to earth guys who engaged the audience with stories about themselves and their songs. Also, they have great chemistry and joked with eachother making the concert feel like a relaxed but special performance in an intimate setting. This was the first concert where I felt like I could have stayed for hours more. Also impressive is their support for the village of Bulembu in Africa, helping to rebuild a village with many children orphaned due to the AIDS epidemic-you can go to the tenors' website if you want to learn more. After the concert, the tenors graciously signed CD's for fans but unfortunately due to the large number that turned out, we barely had time to say hello and thank you to the tenors before moving along the line. Hopefully in future US tours, they will make VIP tickets available for a little more access. The theater was not sold out but that will surely change as they become better known in America, for to know/hear them is to love them as evidenced by multiple standing ovations they received from the Atlanta audience. So if you get the chance, check out their website and tour schedule and treat yourself to an unforgettable evening!

  • The Canadian Tenors Are Big Hit in Atlanta, GA

by Chowwhisperer on 11/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The Canadian Tenors show Saturday night in Symphony Hall in Atlanta was fantastic. The beautiful harmony between their four voices was magnificent, bringing the crowd to their feet on several songs. The warmth and interaction with the audience shown by each of the members was really great. Clifton Murray's performance of Bob Dylan's Forever Young garnered a standing ovation, as well it should. Clifton's strong powerful voice and sensitive interpretation was a joy to behold. Fraser Walter's rendition of Homeward Bound was also brilliant and drew a huge response from the audience. Fraser's beautiful well-trained voice was perfect for this great song. The entire group was truly masterful in delivering such beautiful songs a Nella Fanticia, Instrument of Peace, The Prayer, to name just a few. All in all, a wonderful beautiful evening of joy.

  • Canadian Tenors were even more awesome in person!

by broadwaylake on 11/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The Canadian Tenors' performance was awesome! The performance was well structured and lent itself to getting to know each singer individually. The Tenors related well to their audience and interacted accordingly. The richness of their voices and quality of their performance made it a very memorable birthday gift from my husband. I could not believe the 2 hours was over when the concert ended! They left everyone begging for more. I also liked that they were available to sign autorgraphs after the show without a VIP package. They seem very down to earth.

This was our second time seeing the Canadian Tenors and I know that it won't be my last. The group consists of such unique talent that will have you mesmerized for two hours and leave you yearning for more.

  • Excellent

by byairorsea on 11/22/10Symphony Hall Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Was an excellent concert. Only wish Victor had done one solo also, the others each did, as we think he has the richest "most professional" sounding voice. We think he might have been slightly under the weather as we noticed he did not appear afterwards for autographs whereas the other three members did. Also, Victor did wear a "cap or hat" ??? the entire performance. Wonder why. Highly entertaining and would definately go again, with more friends along as well. Nice clean cut, friendly guys who work as one group - extremely well.

  • The Canadian Tenors were FANTASTIC!!!

  • Canadian Tenors are amazing

the concert was wonderful. Of Course they were in a verysmall venue at Symphony Hall which made it even better... What a talented group of young men. I suggest everyone go see them before they break off into individual careers and you loose the chance to see them together

This evening was enjoyable from beginning to end. I was lucky enough to purchase tickets with a meet and greet and it was just wonderful meeting them and talking to them before the show. They are soo handsome and talented and they all have incredible voices that blend perfectly when they sing together. I loved all the songs they sang and they have such wonderful personalities on stage and off. I would definately reccommend seeing their show, especially if you enjoy a classical voice from enterainers that are not stuffy.
