About

The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

  • The Tenors are spectacular!

by Yankeelady51 on 5/6/13The Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

THis show was so much more than expected. The guys made it very personal by sharing stories, joking and interacting with one another and the audience. Their band was great, and there aren't enough adjectives to describe those incredible voices! Their music selection was great as well.

  • Talented musicians with integrity!

More than we would ever have expected! What a wonderful group of very talented and nice men. Evening absolutely wonderful!!!!! I would certainly recommend them to everyone. I have had their CD for awhile and love it, but seeing and hearing them in person was just perfect! Thank you for bringing them to the Palace. We had been there the week before and did not like the balcony, which I chose, as I am so short. We were courteously given new seats on lower level which were excellent. Our evening experience was excellent!

  • The Tenors were so incredibly moving.

My daughter and I have seen The Tenors many times before. The Palace Theatre was a beautiful venue, any seat would be amazing, however the sound was NOT NEARLY powerful enough. Both my daughter and I were wanting to "turn up the volume." Disappointed in the sound system, but that's not taking away from how amazing their performance was.

Seriously, this was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Just the right amount of talk. Their voices blended superbly and each tenor was talented beyond my expectations. I rank them up with the best (and I've been to a Pavarotti concert). It's to bad that younger viewers of The Voice (TV) apparently aren't attracted to these guys. This is what a great voice(s) should sound like.

  • Fantastic show!

I know that The Tenors are a amazing group. I have heard them on PBS and I also have their CD. However the sound system at the Palace left alot to be desired. Individually they sounded better. As a group it did not do them justice. I was disappointed at the concert after hearing them on the CD. My husband felt the same. I don't know of the sound system was theirs or the Palaces'. If it was the Palaces' they better check it out before the next concert.

What a wonderful evening of beautiful music. The harmonies were incredible, the blending perfect plus they aren't hard to look at either....especially Clifton. What a cutie! They offered a great variety of music coupled with friendly and humorous chatter. This was our second time seeing them, and we are looking forward to seeing them a third, fourth, fifth, etc......... For sure will get their new CD!

  • The Tenors--a concert for EVERYONE

by BSJW on 5/1/13Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The voice of each of The Tenors was beyond excellent...it was ethereal. I loved that each Tenor connected with the audience individually and gave us a sample of their voice and their personality apart from the group. Their blend was perfection! The performance was personable, comedic, and very touching at times. The musicians were simply the best and were given the chance for the audience to experience their talent individually as well, yet, not to the degree that we tired of the "spotlight" time. The make-up of the concert kept our interest but was not flighty or ear-shattering as are many presentations among today's performers. I have already recommended The Tenors to many!

We don't know what to expect. They are good tenors. Since this show was the kick off of their tour, may I suggest that they start off their show with individual introductions. My husband and I have no idea who they are, but since we love classical singing, we went to see them. We were not disappointed. I did google them while we were watching them, so we would know who is who.
