About

The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

  • The Tenors' music is incredibly moving!

by MominStL on 5/14/13The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Tenors and getting a glimpse into their personalities. They sounded nearly as good as their recordings. While I enjoyed listening to them sing individually, where they really shine is singing in harmony. And while individually, some of the voices sound better than others, when you put them together they are perfection! They give me chills! Why did Victor change the words in Hallelujah? I prefer it the other way.

  • The best concert EVER!

by Tpfj on 5/13/13Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

There are not enough superlatives to say how wonderful this concert was. Everything about it - the tenors themselves, the pacing, the music, the lyrics, the musicians - ALL of it was superior! I've never seen so many standing ovations, literally after each song. I hope they come again to Columbus.

Fabulous concert. Everything I expected music wise, but they exuded a presence on stage that was wonderful as well. Would not hesitate a minute to travel to see them again if the opportunity arose.

The Tenors were everything I expected and more. Have been following their videos and concerts ever since I first saw them on PBS, have both DVDs and all their CDs. Listen to them almost on a daily basis in one way or the other, mostly when I'm on the computer. Just really enjoy their voices and their personalities when watching their DVDs.

This was one of the best concerts I have been to! The Tenors are incredible. Their range of musical styles was wide and incorporated so many different styles, from hymns to current music, and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. The Palace was a wonderful venue for the concert, our seats in the mezzanine were great and the acoustics were great. I thoroughly enjoyed the night, and if they come there again, I will be first in line for tickets!

Tremendously talented group. Seats were great, although venue was cold inside. Band volume seemed to overshadow the voices at times. Personable group of fellas. Concert was a good value for ticket price paid.

  • See the Tenors

by msurdan on 5/10/13Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Hands down, best concert I've ever seen, and that includes Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, Olivia Newton-John, Heart, Kansas, Asia, Nickelback and a host of others. It was intimate, personal, interactive, and the music and performance of it was truly heavenly. This wasn't just a concert, but an experience. Each of the Tenors told personal stories, displayed humor, and interacted with the audience directly. They weren't just singers, but entertainers, and beyond that, friends. They clearly enjoy what they do and are grateful for their fans. They are very humble, articulate, generous in their praise of their band and the musicians that play the music they sing. They are simply world class.

T'his was one of the best shows I've been to in recent memory. These guys know how to put on an excellent performance. Their band was great and their personal reflections really made them come through on a personal level. I would go back again in a minuteI.Our local newspaper did a review the next day after the performance, and gave them a good review. They said the recorded music was not up to par, but I didn't find anything wrong with this show! It was well worth the money, and much better than the PBS show on television!

Very good concert. Beautiful voices. Loved their individual songs. Also loved the song when the entire band came to the front of the stage.

The group are very talented individually and collectively. We saw them on PBS and wanted to see them live. They didnot disapoint. I especially liked the traditional songs they sung more than the pop songs. I also liked the fact they performed their show with unpretentious effects and props. The the music and performers stand out more that way.
