The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

  • The Tenors were awesome

by CruiseLadyMary on 6/2/13Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

I drove down to San Diego from the Los Angeles area to see the Tenors on Friday nighit with a friend. The theatre itself was beautifully old...similar to the Pantages, which we both love. The Tenors were absolutely amazing....just like I thought they would be. We totally enjoyed the concert. It all seemed to end too soon because we were really into the music. I loved the way they featured each one of the Tenors, but all the rest of the songs were with the 4 of them. I would love to see them again.

  • It was amazing!

From traditional operatic composures, to covers of Elvis, to their own original music, these four very talented men will make you laugh and cry.

  • Bravo Tenors

by BuckeyeGal on 5/28/13Palace - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

The Tenors gave a wonderful performance highlighting each of their voices with solos. The personal stories that they told of growing up really made you feel like you knew them. I think our Buckeye crowd would love to have them back. The crowd introduced the tenors to "OH-IO" which they eventially caught on to.

  • The perfect concert for Mother's Day...

by PeggySM on 5/20/13Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

Although their music isn't exactly my thing, it was a wonderful show, and the perfect Mother's Day gift for my 91-year old mom. These guys have a lot of heart, and truly beautiful voices. And they're Canadian! What's not to love?

I would go see them again any day of the week. Their voices are so different yet the are great as individuals and as a group.

Having been introduced to The Tenors through their PBS concert, we were eager to experience this fresh new talent live...we were not disappointed. They were wonderful. Great renditions of classics and contemporary hits...loved the Bob Dylan songs.

The Tenors performorance was great. Unfortunately the Music Hall lacks in acoustics, sound and suffers it's age.

Well worth it! Besides their wonderful singing talent, I thoroughly enjoyed the total musical experience. All the performers were superb. The pianist enhanced each selection with not only passionate expression but also with impeccable timing. The unity of the musicians served to showcase The Tenors. What a performance!!!

  • I've been Tenorized!

    by 1983fan on 5/17/13Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I liked that the venue...Music Hall in Detroit was small, so in row T I was still close to the stage. Only real problem was that part of the stage was blocked with the sound system, so I couldn't see the piano at all. As for the actual performance, it was amazing! The Tenors all have the voices of angels and they're not too hard on the eyes either. They sing, they dance, they tell stories. I'm hooked.

  • The Tenors are one of a kind. Amazing!

This is the 4th concert I've attended and they just keep getting better. Brought me to tears several times during their performance. They are all truly unique in their talent and performance, individulally and together. They are a gift from heaven!!!

  • Tenors worth the wait

    by Nana2Six on 5/17/13Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert I have ever been to, Not only was the music outstanding but their sense of humor and dedication was refreshing. I travel 200 miles to see them I would do it again in a heartbeat. Loved it.

  • The Four Tenors

by Flickchick on 5/17/13Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

Saw them the other night and they were not what I expected at all. There is no pretentiousness at all about them and they are very personable as they interact with the audience. The program was both pop, religious and classical music. I preferred the classical. There they really shined. I would definitely recommend the Four Tenors...as long as you don't think you are getting the Three Tenots (Pavarotti, Carreras and Domingo)

  • The tenors

Very good concert. Would highly recommend seeing them

  • Phenominal voices and personalities to match

by GTemplene on 5/17/13Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Overall a fantastic performance. Love the quaintness of the theater although the A/C could have been set a tab bit cooler.

  • by Anonymous on 5/17/13Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

The Tenors have such beautiful voices! I really enjoyed the concert. Each Tenor was showcased individually, which was really nice. I loved how they acknowledged their band and brought them out, front and center, to perform. The only negative comment would be that a few of the songs focused on piano playing, talking or trumpet playing from stage right. If you were sitting on that side (as we were), due to the large speaker boxes, you could not see. It would have been nice to bring the person closer to center stage. Overall, it was a wonderful evening!

  • Sheer perfection

by Anonymous on 5/17/13Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing show + cozy venue = sheer perfection! Loved every moment.

  • Tenors are beautiful men with spectacular voices.

    by Emmad04 on 5/15/13Auditorium Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The Tenors show was beyond amazing and definitely a group I would see again. The harmonies that the four men intertwined together gave me chills throughout most of the show. The individual songs that showcased the group's vocal strengths were breathtaking. I recommend this show to anyone who loves music and enjoying God-given talent on any level.
