The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

I went to see the The Canadian Tenors at the Greek Theater on Saturday night and had an amazing time. It was a wonderful evening in a lovely theater listening to amazing voices with some of my best friends. Hands down one of my favorite theater experiences in LA.

  • Delightful

Loved this concert. I was new to the tenors, went along with my wife, who was excited. They were very talented, humble, enjoyable, grateful to be at the Greek Theater. It is like they are still pinching themselves about their success, which is charming. The band accompanying them was extremely good as well, blending in with them and complementing what they were doing vocally. Covered a wide range of styles. The crowd was diverse and really had a nice feel.

The singing was excellent and they interacted with the audience which made their performances so much more enjoyable. I loved how each one shared their families growing up and what made them turn to music.

The Tenors are the most amazing group of young men I've ever seen! It's so rare that a concert not only entertains you, but inspires you as well. Their voices are uplifting and unforgettable. It was truly a privilege to see them live.

  • An Evening with the Tenors

by SongFan on 6/3/13Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Very enjoyable evening. I hope Clifton Murray records "Make you Feel My Love" sometime soon (on YouTube - worth the time to take a look.) All in all, if a show is worth fighting the L.A. traffic and the parking at the Greek, then it's a successful night in my book. This was definitely a good evening. And having David Foster there was great fun! I would have enjoyed more time seeing them together. My complaint: Would love to have back the 5 minutes of my life I spent listening to Rita Wilson "sing."

We loved the Tenors! We were disappointed in the horrible radio music (?) playing over the loudspeakers before the show, and during the intermission. It was an insult to the Tenors, and VERY boring and annoying to us. Otherwise everything was good. Oh, we were prepared fo have a little picnic where we parked, but were told it wasn't open yet (that's why we got there early), so had to park in another lot and ended up surrounded, literly, by cars. Not a good start for a wonderful evening!

  • The Tenors were Sensational

by Cactusbloom on 6/2/13Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

The Tenors delighted us with a fantastic performance from beginning to end. The clarity, tone and harmony of their voices was so incredible it brought the audience to their feet several times during the show. In addition to displaying fantastic vocal and musical ability, The Tenors shared stories with the audience about their childhood experiences and musical influences. By the end of the evening we were not only appreciating The Tenors incredible talent but admiring them as individuals. This was an evening we will ALWAYS REMEMBER!

  • Music for the soul!

They were as amazing as ever! I saw the Tenors a year and a half ago at Christmas for the first time. Their ability to interact with the audience is endearing and makes them all the more enjoyable. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

  • What an enjoyable evening!

by Owlman on 6/2/13Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

We didn't really have advanced expectations of this concert, but all 5 of us had just the best time! All of the performers were outstanding and each shared the stage about the right amount of time to spotlight their individual talents, which were considerable! If there was one slight negative, it was the sound system, which for the first half of the concert (and especially the first number) was at times way too loud and piercing rather than pleasant. Thankfully, a bit of tissue in our ears dealt with that issue! The second half didn't seem to have those kinds of moments. We look forward to The Tenors' return to San DIego!

  • Tenor's Concert in San Diego

by JohnofPS on 6/2/13Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

The Tenors put on a great show. They do individual numbers and get personal while talking about their lives to the audience. They put on a long show so you sure get your money's worth!
