The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

  • The Tenors were astounding!!

by 1musiklvr on 6/11/13Des Moines Performing Arts - Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

The Tenors are the new Il Divo as far as I'm concerned! Just as enjoyable. Each tenor has their own amazing voice besides playing either piano or guitar; each very talented. The style of songs they sang should have touched hearts of each and every concert goer as well. Ranging from classical to religious and popular songs, as well. Their band of musicians were also excellent and worth listening to. Yes, I would definitely recommend going to see "The Tenors" in concert. You won't be disappointed, I guarantee it!

  • Outstanding concert

by Dsmfan1 on 6/11/13Des Moines Performing Arts - Civic Center - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Who are these men and how can they sing like this? Truly, one of the best concerts I have been too. They showed so much talent it was truly amazing. The focus was on their voices and the music. It was refreshing in this day of singers and groups that rely on huge productions for concerts to have it solely be just about their music and voices. I can not wait to attend another event. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

We loved The Tenors. Their singing was out of this world. And we'd go again. A couple of songs brought tears to our eyes....so beautiful and touching. The couple beside us had driven over from Illinois (4 hrs away) and they loved the concert too.

Best concert ever!!!!! Classical music, pop music, and contempory music. Along with the fantastic voices of the Tenors, they are warm, funny, personable, and sincere. They had us laughing and made us all feel like we were welcomed friends. They each did a solo that knocked your socks off. Great way to showcase each voice. Completely AWESOME!!! This is a great show for the entire family and I will go again the next time they come here!!!

The venue was perfect for these unbelievable singers. Their voices will stay with you for days, each one different, but incredible.

  • The Tenors are incomparable

    by TenorsFan10 on 6/4/13Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

There are no words to describe the sound these four men produce, individually and as a quartet. They're engaging, and each Tenor telling a bit about himself and his personal life made the show that much more enjoyable. I can't recommend them highly enough.

  • Amazing! But more English lyrics, please.

I enjoyed being in the audience during the Tenor's performance on Friday night. The band is amazing; I haven't heard such great backup music since the E Street Band. And their voices are indescribably moving. When Frasier sings "Bring Him Home" (from Les Mis), it evokes a visceral response. I close my eyes to hold back tears, with a prayer for our troops attached to each of Frasier's notes as they soar to the heavens. To watch a Tenors concert is to participate in such emotions.I've been a fan of the Tenors since I first saw them in that magical moment on Oprah when Celine Dion surprised them by joining them in the middle of their performance (they were the Canadian Tenors then). My only critique is that, while tenor voices lend themselves well to romantic languages, I would still prefer to hear more songs performed in English.

by Truckee on 6/3/13Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Surprised my husband with this concert (we flew in from N. CA) and I cannot express how wonderful a time we had and the pure enjoyment of watching and listening to this incredible group of marvelously talented individuals. We appreciated getting to know each of them and their backgrounds that they shared with the audience. I had no idea they played instruments and wrote songs too - they are just all round one of the BEST groups in the world today! Their voices are beyond comparison. We definitely make a date for The Tenors again, when they return to this side of the border!

Their vocal strength, stage presence, interaction with the audience and the variety of music selections makes the Young Tenors performance a "must see and experience" for anyone who likes music. They are extremely talented and enjoyable. I heartily recommend their show to anyone 10 years of age and older. It was a gift.

  • Amazing Night with 4 Incredible Voices

by trevorag on 6/3/13Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

It was an incredible evening. The Greek Theatre is a small but lovely venue. The Tenors each have a slightly different temperature per each of their voices, but they blend in vocal perfection. Definitely see them if they are in your area. They all are are incredible, but the highlight of the evening was when Clifton Murray hit the high note on the closing number of "Nessum Dorma". It gave you chills.
