The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

  • Tenors amazing

We loved the Tenors show in Hamilton. We have seen them before in smaller venues. This show in an arena was excellent because we had seats near the floor so we had a good view of the stage. The singers were very personable and related well to the audience. Of course the songs were great. They included songs from their albums as well as Christmas carols. The singers came into the audience. They sang a few songs from a small stage just in front of us, at the beginning of the floor seating. This was great.

  • Great concert!!

Great concert with a great variety of songs. Glad they included quite a few Christmas songs. It was well worth the 4 1/2 hour drive. Our hotel was within walking distance of the show, so this was perfect. This was the first concert we attended for The Tenors but I hope it won't be the last. I watch them on PBS whenever they are on.

  • Exceptional

by Decepcionado on 11/30/15National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

We've seen the Tenors every time they've been in Ottawa. I was expecting more of the same as in previous performances which were great but they surpassed my expectations in this show. In addition to the songs from Under One Sky, each of the Tenors gave a solo performance which were received by a standing ovation each time. Their band was excellent. Their background spectacle lighting & pictures was very good with each song they sang.

Although it was disappointing that Remy was ill and hospitalized, this was a fantastic performance that we thoroughly enjoyed. The mix of opera and pop was right on. We were deeply moved both spiritually and to rise to our feet in appreciation by a number of songs shared.

I am a loyal fan. Frequently listen to The Tenors CD's, closing my eyes to truly capture the musical arrangements, their harmony, the lyrics, and absolutely the beauty and power of their voices. But I felt the venue was all wrong for them. The band played to the venue meaning they were too loud making it hard to hear the lyrics/harmony and made me feel like I was at a rock concert which is not what I wanted to attend. So I was a bit disappointed. I will continue to enjoy the CD's and plan to attend a concert next year but will watch for a better location. Do hope Remy is feeling better! Again, a nice touch pulling in a local singing group to back them up on a couple of their numbers. Four truly talented, personable, charming singers who are creating inspiring music - don't let the band overplay the songs please. I have recommended them to so many people but try not to book them into a venue like The Sands.

Even with one tenor missing, this show was outstanding! Their voices harmonize like butter. They did a great mix of pop, classical, and religious songs which transported me to a tranquil setting in my head. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED every minute of the 2+ hour concert. Hope they return to the Sands soon, with Remi in tow!!

I really enjoyed this show. I first saw this group on a PBS special and knew that I had to see them in person. They did not disappoint. This is a group of 4 young men that have absolutely incredible voices. They are very personable on stage and very talented. They play guitar, piano and a few other instruments extremely well. Their voices sound angelic. They sing songs from many different genres and tell touching and very funny stories, not to mention that they are all extremely adorable. If you get a chance, see them. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go again.

The Tenors were absolutely amazing! I enjoyed the show and felt it was over too fast! I could have listened to them all night! This was the first time my sister saw them and she thought they were fantastic! Both of us would definitely recommend this show to others and can't wait to see them again

  • The Tenors - amazing!!!!

by carolman on 11/16/15NYCB Theatre at Westbury - WestburyRating: 5 out of 5

THey are a group of 4 pretty young men yet appeal to audiences of every age - truly! Their voices compete well with the best of opera singers - my opinion and are very personable on stage, explaining their background and how they came to be. I saw them at the westbury music fair and didn't know I would love them. My mother had me buy tickets because she has seen them many times on PBS, and I am so glad I went!!! I am a true fan now! The Aria's are sung with true heart.
