  • SOUND OF MUSIC

by LONGTIME DOOBIE LOVER on 4/24/19Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Who hasn't seen The Sound of Music and doesn't know the story? This production was terrific and the cast was wonderful. Our seats were very good and it was interesting how the show was staged to accommodate what must have been a smaller stage. While we could not see them behind the stage, the orchestra did a great job. This was among the best productions of TSOM I've seen. Loved the Mother Superior singing "Climb Every Mountain" because it was chilling. All main cast members were terrific. Two criticisms. First, it would have been nice to have some type of playbill to read about the cast and the production. Their names, without the parts they played, were listed on a board so they really didn't have an identity to know their backgrounds. Then was the screaming toddler in the front. The show management should not have allowed such a young child to come in and once it became clear that the mother/father were not going to at least go to the back of the theater, someone should have come down to them. Since they were so close to the stage, it was distracting to the audience and must have been really unpleasant for the cast.

  • Sweet Music

It was a wonderful experience for me and my 18 year old granddaughter. She has been in many high school plays and I thought she would definitely love this one. I was right. The voices were amazing and this production of Sound of Music was A-1. Hope Caesar's will do other musicals.

  • It was good but not Sound of Music

by Erin D on 4/23/19Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 3 out of 5

The show was good however it is not the Sound of Music that everyone is expecting to see. The songs are performed at different times than in the original movie and there are brand new songs. The show if taken on its own was very good, just not what I was expecting or hoping for.

Brought my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter to see the show. We have watched the movie since she was about 1 year. She was totally mesmerized throughout the show. As was I. All characters were very well cast and near perfection. Thanks to all.

  • Well worth Seeing!

by Larry B on 4/23/19Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Took my daughter whose favorite movie is the Sound of Music. We’d seen this on Broadway over 20 years ago and wanted to revisit. The show is excellent. Excellent sound and singing. The youngest daughters were so precious! The reverend mother’s voice is phenomenal and was the biggest surprise to me. She got the most standing ovations. I hope Atlantic City has a lot more of these type of shows going forward. Also, I like Caesar’s showroom. The seats are comfy wider than most of the casino venues here.

The play was fantastic. The singers were incredible, especially the woman who played Mother Superior and the man who played Captain Von Trapp. I would recommend everyone to go see this traveling troupe.

  • Very Good

by Deb on 4/22/19Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

The Sound of Music held at Caesars Atlantic City was very good! The performers singing was excellent especially Mother Superior (what a voice she had) and Maria. Our seats were good - I don't believe there was a bad seat in the house. I was however disappointed that there was no playbill as I would have enjoyed reading about those performers!

  • Fantastic Live Performance!

by Joee on 4/22/19Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Went to see Sound of Music in Atlantic City for a friend's birthday and took along my two adult daughters and my mom. The show blew us away and went way above and beyond our expectations. The talent of acting and singing for each of the characters was simply amazing! The children actors are truly gifted. The set, the costumes and the way the show flowed were fabulous! As regular Broadway show attenders, Broadway has nothing on this group! I had forgotten how much I love Sound of Music and the in your heart forever music and songs. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to be part of the audience and would highly recommend anyone who gets the chance, young and old alike, to go and see it!

  • Very Well Done!

by Nick on 4/20/19Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Great performance, would compare to any Broadway play. Stage scenery was of a very high quality as well as the professional acting by the cast!

  • Very Good Road company production

by MandBinc on 4/20/19Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

The show was very good. I thought Maria's voice a little high pitched but then I most likely was comparing her to Julie Andrews. After a bit I just enjoyed her singing. The children were very good as were the the rest of the cast. All in all an enjoyable performance.

Beautiful production of this classic. Wonderful, talented cast. Not a bad seat in the house. Loved it.

  • A wonderful surprise

by R. on 4/19/19Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

This musical turned out to be excellent! The cast was excellent! Climb every mountain brought a tear to many eyes. The venue was comfortable and staff very friendly. I would suggest they work on how to seat late comers as the first 15 minutes of the show was disrupted. Overall a great experience.

  • Underwhelming

    by P. S. on 4/1/19Stephens Auditorium - AmesRating: 3 out of 5

This performance was somewhat of a let down. There were many microphone issues and the songs were not the best. I was hoping for something more theatric.

  • Need more restrooms at this location

    by M. W. on 3/31/19Stephens Auditorium - AmesRating: 4 out of 5

Wonderful sound and great performance. But there needs to be more restrooms available. The upper level only had two toilets and by the end of the 20 min intercession people were still waiting in line.

  • Great- CY Stephens get more restrooms

by Boomer on 3/31/19Stephens Auditorium - AmesRating: 3 out of 5

Great performance. As for the site of performance CY Stephans it should be embarrassing the lack of restrooms that that facility. The lines at intermission were extremely long. People were coming in after intermission late because of lines and its annoying.

  • Sound of Music Review

    by L. L. on 3/30/19Heymann Performing Arts Center - LafayetteRating: 3 out of 5

The singing was outstanding. However, the set design was a huge disappointment. Except for the Abbey and bedroom scenes, the stage offered little to nothing for visuals. The actors were often seen walking around on the stage in what seemed as a very awkward manner. The blue background offered nothing to support such a beautiful script. The actors’ voices were amazing but this production needed a whole lot more. We left right after intermission.
