Wonderful show, amazing acting and singing. Good venue
Venue was great. Intimate and acoustics were wonderful. Seats were great. Cast was great. Enjoyed every minute of the musical..
The production was so well done. In my opinion, much better than what you see at TPAC. Professional, gorgeous music and such great talent. The kids were so impressive as well.
The talented cast brought the classic to life. It is a must see!!
This production was outstanding. The singers were amazing and it was so professionally done. I would highly recommend it!!!
The presentation and acting, singing, dancing were of broadway quality. Totally enjoyed.
The collaboration between Studio Tenn and the CPA drama program was excellent. The performance was so well done. The children were so delightful. The theatre on CPA's campus is so beautiful. My only disappointment was the young man (11 or 12 yrs old) who was seated in front of me. He apparently became bored with being there and kept stretching his arms above his head distracting my view of the stage.
Live music, flawless vocals, top tier acting! And a surprisingly beautiful venue! The singing nuns were so good, I wasnāt sure they werenāt lip syncing. Beautiful sets as well. The play is better than the movie! Wasnāt sure about the interracial cast but it works perfectly. Treat yourself!
The Sound of Music was amazing. The actors were so talented. The play was so much better than I expected it to be. Still can't get the songs out of my head. It was a long production, but you didn't even notice because it was so exciting to listen to and the cast pulled you into the story. I highly recommend seeing this with your family.
A very great stage performance especially when grandpa saw his grandaughter ( Grayson Stranko] as Leisel. I was thrilled to witness this production !!!
My daughter and I really liked the musical. Why go to New York when you can see one in Nashville? When we visited Austria, we had the opportunity to walk across that stage, and we saw the tree that the children climbed and the Abbey. This was our first time attending a production at CPA, but it will not be our last one. The exposure for the students at CPA is excellent, and it may lead to a career in the theater.
The sounds from this musical are the best Nashville can provide. Some of the best voices we ever heard. What a talented cast Patrick Cassidy put together. We loved it so much we saw in opening night and again on Saturday. Good luck and everyone should go so this show.
I recently had the privilege of attending the musical The Sound of Music at the Soli Deo Center at Christ Presbyterian Academy. I didnāt have high expectations as I prepared for a low budget high school musical. Boy was I surprised! The theater is first rate and the talent is top notch!! I would consider the talent to off Broadway. In retrospect Iām not sure what I was thinkingā¦ there is no bad music in Nashville. If you havenāt attended an event at this facility, I highly recommend this hidden gem in West Nashville. We had a lovely dinner in Brentwood beforehand and zipped right home afterwards. No fighting the downtown congestion or need for an Uber!
The Sound of Music was incredibly well done - music, acting, set. Loved the actors who played the children; group music was wonderful and moving, especially Kurt and Gretl. CPA Theater is a gem - far preferable place to experience professional theater than massive TPAC. Exceeded my expectations in every way (except for the lady beside me who got caught up in the music and sometimes hummed along with it!?). Would highly recommend the show.
The vocals blended very well and moved me to tears at time. The love story was shown by the different characters thru dancing, humor, and romance. I highly recommend seeing it.
This musical/play had to be one of the best Iāve ever seen! The music and dancing was so good, and I couldnāt believe how beautiful the singing was! Every person that opened their mouths had angelic voices and I was so shocked in such a good way! Shed some tears multiple times and went home with a full heart! Wish I could go see it again!
The talent is unbelievable! Broadway quality right here in Franklin, TN.
The show was fabulous! Maria and Mother Superior has flawless performances and all of the other characters were believable and fun. When those swastika flags rolled down at the festival I got chills. Great show!
Who hasn't seen The Sound of Music and doesn't know the story? This production was terrific and the cast was wonderful. Our seats were very good and it was interesting how the show was staged to accommodate what must have been a smaller stage. While we could not see them behind the stage, the orchestra did a great job. This was among the best productions of TSOM I've seen. Loved the Mother Superior singing "Climb Every Mountain" because it was chilling. All main cast members were terrific. Two criticisms. First, it would have been nice to have some type of playbill to read about the cast and the production. Their names, without the parts they played, were listed on a board so they really didn't have an identity to know their backgrounds. Then was the screaming toddler in the front. The show management should not have allowed such a young child to come in and once it became clear that the mother/father were not going to at least go to the back of the theater, someone should have come down to them. Since they were so close to the stage, it was distracting to the audience and must have been really unpleasant for the cast.
