About

The Rolling Stones are one of the most influential and longest-lasting bands to cross over during the ’60s British Invasion. The group stands as one of the best-selling acts of all time with 200 million records sold worldwide, and is responsible for two of the highest-grossing tours of all time within the last two decades. Blending blues and rock, the first main lineup of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts broke out in 1965 with their first chart-topping album Out of Our Heads and back-to-back Hot 100 No. 1 singles “(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction” and “Get Off of My Cloud.” The group topped the Hot 100 again with 1966’s “Paint It, Black,” 1967’s “Ruby Tuesday” and 1969’s “Honky Tonk Women.” With the addition of guitarist Mick Taylor, The Rolling Stones released their second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with 1971’s Sticky Fingers, kicking off a streak of eight consecutive chart-topping debuts through 1981’s Tattoo You. Ronnie Wood made his debut as Taylor’s full-time replacement with 1978’s Some Girls, which hosted the group’s Hot 100 No. 1 “Miss You.” The Rolling Stones were the recipients of The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. They collected their first of three career Grammy Awards in 1995. The group broke the record for highest-grossing tour in 1990 and reclaimed the top spot in 1995 and 2007, becoming the only band to headline the highest-grossing tour of the decade twice. The No Filter World Tour from 2017 to 2021 closed as the fifth highest-earning tour ever. Most recently, the band released their first album of original material in 18 years, 2023’s Hackney Diamonds.

    Darkness...& Light?

by J. Jack Flash on 1/8/22SoFi Stadium - Inglewood

Jagger & Co. have always had the dark thing down....Paint it Black, Sympathy, Sway etc. But I actually experienced a new sensation at this show when they did YCAGWYW that I've never felt at one of their shows in the 10x i've been lucky enough to see them live. On this nite, "You Can't Always Get" was nothing short of thrilling! I've never been to a tent revival, but this rendition was like a quasi-spiritual experience...think James Brown in the original Blues Bros film...it was that electric. The guy i talked to on the plane thinks this tours version was masterminded by Chuck Level...but i also recall a 2018 documentary on Aretha Franklin that shows her gospel singing at a Los Angeles church in the early 70's ( & the footage shows Mick even stopping by that nite wearing a white suit...possibly while mixing Exile at Sunset Sound?) But whatever the reason, the muse flew into the stadium on this beautiful night...& somewhere James Brown, Aretha & Charlie are smiling.

    Great Rock Night

by Bruno on 1/4/22Cotton Bowl - Dallas

The best of the best to see The Rolling Stones again live. Despite being a cold and rainy night, I had a very comfortable time and I was too happy in the two hours that the show lasted.

    Stones were awesome

    by A. S. on 12/20/21Ford Field - Detroit

Rolling Stones rocked! Just wish they were at a different venue. Ford Field in Detroit SUCKS for concerts. I've been to a few there and probably won't go back. They over pack the place. You have to park about 2 blocks away, if you're lucky enough to get that close. There's thousands of people walking in the street to get there then you wait a long time in line just to get in. My opinion is, it's a horrible venue for a concert. Little Caesars arena is so much better.

    Awesome concert!

by BB on 12/8/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Beat concert ever! We are still thrilled we got to see it. Venue was horrible. Traffic, access, walking distance, poorly marked entrances, unorganized and uninformed staff. Cost me $190 to travel to and from South Austin. Took two hours to get there. 3 hours to get back to the hotel. You need shuttles to your venue from inside Austin. My phone tracked 8,900 steps while at the venue. That’s too much over gravel, poorly lit grass lawn, bleacher steps, etc. These aren’t young kids buying these expensive tickets. Think about your demographic when organizing please. Luckily the concert was so over the top, above expectations, awesome we endured it all without too much complaints.

    Stones in Minneapolis

by Chip on 12/7/21U.S. Bank Stadium - Minneapolis

Venue itself was great. Easy access. very friendly people / employess both inside and outside the stadium. The downside - We purchased seats down front - close to the pit. Pricey but that was ok. The problem was access to drinks. There was a private club with easy access, however we were not allowed in. It was big enough to hold 500 or more people, and at any one time there were no more than maybe 50 in there. Now I understand buying a memeship to this club if you are going to a Vikings game and you are there frequently. But to limit it to memebers only for a concert in which people are not there often seems silly. Our only option was to go upstairs and then stand in line. Opening this private club would ahve eliminated that problem. For the price we paid for tickets, access to drinks and food should have been much better.

    Stone at COTA Austin

by D. B. on 12/7/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

First of all the show its self was fantastic! The band, sound, multimedia show and stage set-up were all top notch. Having a lot of experience with the Circuit of the Americas for F1 and MotoGP events in the past I knew to get there very early and expect to wait a while to be able to leave afterwards. At those two events traffic and parking are bad and some of the crowd comes early and some stay late. At this show it started at 7:00 and was over at 11:00. Everyone wanted to be there at the same time and leave at the same time. The small roads from Highways 130 and 71 can't handle the traffic COTA generates. The slow unorganized filling and emptying of the overpriced parking lots contributed to this. Once parked part of the shuttleless LONG walk to our area began. For us part of the walk was on the street shared with traffic. Finally arriving at Gate 1 it necks to allow for checking tickets and security. Once through another seriously long walk begins that takes you in a meandering trail the opposite direction towards Turn 11 before heading back towards where you want go! Now you find your section and go through that check point. Enjoy a fantastic show! When it's over everyone is squeezing though the same section check points that should be wide open now, but there not. I'm sure a lot of injures occurred because of huge numbers of people unwillingly to do the long Turn 11 return trip climbed over the tall concrete or steel barriers to take the obvious shortcut. Approaching the same entrance Gate 1 the throng of people came to an almost stop because no changes had been made to increase the size of the exits. Just plain bad planning. I think if it had been a younger crowd it could easily have turned ugly quick. Because you didnt, I would suggest hiring concert grounds professionals with experience (if you could get anyone to attend).

Concert great ! Parking worst ever.

by StonesFan on 12/6/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The Stones did a great job. Jagger has as much energy as a teenager and voice still great. The Austin Formula 1 venue parking was horrible - only one road in/out. Took hours to get out. I won’t ever go to that venue again.

    The Stones were absolutely amazing!

by Dj Berlin on 12/6/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The Stones were incredible! The getting in and out was a disaster. I don’t think I’ll be back to COTA for any more large concerts. 🎩❤️🤷‍♂️

You Can’t Always Get What You Want

by Stuck In Traffic on 12/4/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

I was so excited to go the concert but as the Stones have famously said, you can’t always get what you want. The venue is only 30 minutes from my house and after 3.5 hours stuck in traffic and still stuck a mile out from the venue I decided to give up. This is an atrocious venue with no traffic management plan. Literally never going to any event there ever again. Try better COTA.

    Rolling Stones amazing, venue sucks.

by Rock on 12/3/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

No organization whatsoever on the part of the venue. It’s a free for all getting in and out of the venue area, wasting hours and needlessly causing humungous traffic jams. The venue had the whole pandemic to figure out entrances and exits, or to add parking lots and paths to avoid this. Start maybe by having more than a single-lane entrance for much of the whole venue. It would be much better to take an RV, arrive the morning of, and wait everything out the day after. Otherwise, it’s best to get to the venue several hours before a show.

Sang at the top of my lungs

by Ncrain on 12/2/21Cotton Bowl - Dallas

I bought the tickets and invited my daughter to go with me. I made a playlist ahead of time, and was so glad I did. We were able to sing along at the top of our lungs the whole show! Mick was amazing, strutting all over the stage. My daughter and I danced and danced! This was on my bucket list and was a once in a lifetime experience.

    COTA Stones Concert

by NG on 12/2/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

We enjoyed the concert. We were disappointed on how the traffic was handled. There was no guidance as to where to go park. Fortunately we left at 4:30 from downtown so it was only 45 minutes. From our seats we could see miles of cars still in line long after the Stones started. Took friends 2 hours for 14 miles. There was no help or paths to leave the field. No lights to cross the street at the cross walk to our parking lot. Cars didn't want to stop because they couldn't tell it was a crosswalk. There was no one directing traffic. I will not attend another concert at COTA.

    Way Oversold

by J. B. on 12/2/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

I bought tickets 2 years ago and couldn't even get into the GA Bronze section of the venue where I bought my tickets because the concert was so oversold. A 3 mile walk to and from the parking area was unacceptable. We had to watch the concert from behind the vendor area and the black screens on the fence prevented us from seeing anything except the video monitors over the stage. Wish I could get my money back. I will never attend another concert at the COTA Superstage.

    COTA Venue sucks!!

by M. W. on 12/2/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

This review is for the COTA venue only. The Rolling Stones were amazing and definitely 5 stars. It took 2 hours to get into just the parking lot to park in my $65 pre-paid parking lot. Traffic control was so bad, that eventually the attendees just waived me in a different lot and didnt even check to see if i paid. After parking, we had to walk around the track to get to the viewing area, which would have been closer if not given the wrong directions by the COTA staff. We will never see another concert at COTA unless Freddie Mercury is somehow brought back to life for a Queen reunion tour!!

The Rolling Stones are legendary! GOAT

by Marty on 12/2/21Ford Field - Detroit

The Rolling Stones show was fantastic and emotional! I have been a fan since I bought the 45 Satisfaction/Get Off of My Cloud which I think I bought in about 1964. My first show was in the late 1970s, I took my kids when they were 12 in 2004. The # 1 bad part of the night was directions to public parking. We were directed by Ford Field Staff to about 4 different lots and each one was restricted to prepaid or handicap parking. Finally found a police officer who was working traffic and gave us real help. The parking took over an hour which is bad bc we had to drive in from Columbus. Need more staff with knowledge of what is open for parking! 2. Opening act. Because of parking, we missed half of the opening act. But that turned out ok bc they were terrible. Just loud maybe rap? The mic and reverberation were so bad that I am Not sure it was even that…. More like head banging. There are so many great bands out there that I think would have been a better fit. How about blues or soul or something that mixes genres up with rock and roll. St. Paul and the Broken Bones and The Revivalists were both much better opening bands on the tour. And there is no shortage of talent in Detroit. How about a band with a strong female lead singer? I think it was a missed opportunity to expose the mostly older mostly white crowd to some great new music. 3. Tshirt vendors. I bought a long sleeve tour shirt but it turns out she bagged a short sleeve shirt for me. Bummer. But it was The Rolling Stones, minus Charlie Watts RIP, so it still gets 5 stars! Great Set List! So glad I was there!

    COTA sucks

by JGC on 12/2/21Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Never made it to the concert. Exited 130 at 6:30. At 9:00 p.m. was still sitting in vehicle at least an hour from getting into the facility. Turned around and left. From the point where we turned around, it was less than 2 minutes back to 130. Whoever was supposed to coordinate traffic flow is an idiot and ought to be fired. Will never go back to COTA for anything, and we've been going to MotoGP every year since COTA opened and gone to numerous concerts. Something has changed there because the staff are incompetent and unhelpful now, totally different than before COVID, when they were awesome to work with.
