About

Based on Mel Brooks' 1968 film of the same name, "The Producers" is about Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom's attempt to stage the worst musical ever and run away with their investors' money. When the curtain goes up on their gigantic singing-and-dancing spectacular, though, they realize their plan has gone ridiculously wrong. Full of hilarious jokes and sharp satire, "The Producers" is pure fun!

Richard Lafleur in The Producers was amazing!!!

by KeysInTheFort on 11/25/15Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Go see this show if you have the opportunity. I traveled 2 1/2 hours to see it. Worth every minute. This show is so funny, and the cast is incredible, especially the guy who plays Leo Bloome, Richard Lafleur. He had me laughing the whole show. Not only is the cast unbelievably talented, but the stage direction and choreography was great, as was the lighting and set design. Seriously, if this show is coming near your town, don't miss it! Go see it! I absolutely loved it.

A great version of a great musical. The cast seemed to love what they do, and I would highly recommend this show or any show at the Thousand oaks Civic to anyone.

    The best musical EVER!

by ReiQ on 2/26/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

I've seen a fair share of musicals and this one is officially my favorite. From the songs, to the dancing, to the dialog, everything was perfectly executed and hilarious to boot. If this musical returns to town, I'd go and see it again and bring even more friends with me.

it was a great production by any standards. The sets and special effects were wonderful. Singing was strong. Acting was right on. Dancing was great. Not a single criticism to offer. I've seen the Producers both in NYC and the movie and this was definitely on par. Thank you NC Theater for a great night of entertainment!

    The Producers made me laugh!

by BullCity on 2/23/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

"The Producers" is a comedy that delivers the laughs. The humor is distinctively Mel Brooks -- a bit on the slapstick/cheesy side, although it is appropriate to the plot and to the overall theme development. The actors were superb. I was entertained.

    The Producers

by gladitsover on 2/23/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

Unfortunately both my husband and I were really disappointed. We heard the story was hilarious but we found it boring and offensive. Crudeness and homosexuality dominated the script.; nothing wholesome or creatively humorous about this production. We wish we could get a refund for the expensive tickets and parking.

    The Producers was fantastic!

by SavEmi on 2/22/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

I haven't been to see a North Carolina production in a few years, as I was VERY unhappy with North Carolina Theater (NCT) production of Grease. However, I was VERY impressed with The Producers! The actors and sets were incredible! I saw the broadway production a few years ago and this was almost as good. I will definitely attend future musicals produced by NCT. The actors were fantastic! VERY FUNNY!

    Over the top

by Youmakethissodifficult on 2/21/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

Mel Brooks always provides incredible material both for the actors and the audience. The cast in the Raleigh did an incredible job of presenting the rich material provided by Brooks in such a way as to make me believe that it had been written especially for them. Their interpretation was wonderful. The entire cast is to be congratulated with particular attention to Michael McCormick as "Max Bialystock" and Stacey Todd Holt as "Leo Bloom" and Lara Seibert and "Ulla". This is not to take anything away from Stuart Marland, Steven Ted Beckler, Christopher Sloan or the rest of the ensemble. They were all so enjoyable. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.

I took my mom to see the Producers for her birthday and was so impressed with the performance. I hadn't seen the Producers before and didn't know what to expect. The acting was incredible along with the music and set! My mom is still raving about the experience. I thought it was comparable to a broadway production and would recommend it.

    Still an amazing show

by mikeynla on 2/20/11Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

I saw the producers several years ago in LA at the Pantages Theatre... I was curious to see how it would work out in a smaller-scale theater such as Raleigh's Memorial Auditorium... It was WONDERFUL! Everything was great, from the actors, to the set, to the music. This is a show that could offend, but really doesn't, because it is so light-hearted. ABSOLUTELY recommended!

    The Producers was mediocre

Good talent, performed adequately, but the show just failed to connect. I wish I could say differently, as I was really prepared to be entertained...
