The Price Is Right Live on Tour

Seeing The Price Is Right Live is a little bit like being reunited with a childhood friend. Anyone who grew up anywhere near a TV from the early 1970s onward probably has the classic game show embedded forever in their consciousness; seeing it play out in front of you (and maybe even taking part) can be a thrillingly surreal experience. But it's much more than just a nostalgia trip. Whether you're a lifelong fan of the show or it's your first exposure to the whole concept, the stage version of The Price Is Right is an enormous amount of fun, with random audience members picked to compete for cash and prizes by playing challenges like Plinko, The Big Wheel and The Showcase. If you're among the lucky attendees who get the famous call to "Come on down!" you just might feel a little chill go up your spine. But even if you aren't, it's still a blast to be part of the whole thing as it happens.

About The Price Is Right Live

In 1972, a part of TV history began its journey with the premier of The Price Is Right on CBS. When contestants heeded host Bob Barker's iconic call to "Come on down!" and take part in what has become one of America's most beloved game shows, a legacy started that would last for decades to come. The Price Is Right is one of the most popular, longest-running TV shows ever, so it's not surprising that it spawned a stage version in 2002. When you attend The Price Is Right Live, you may not be on TV but you're still getting the full experience. Whether you're one of the randomly selected contestants or a spectator, you see the classic game played out before your eyes, as people do their best to guess prices in order to win cash and prizes.

    It Was Fun !

by JimboJimboInAZ on 5/2/16Tucson Music Hall - Tucson

... and with that being said, it was more like a "Been There, Done That" moment. Sure, it was fun, but if it comes around again I'd probably pass. Please bear in mind this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that I didn't get called, it was just kinda "hokey".

    Come on Down

by DMAV on 5/2/16Tucson Music Hall - Tucson

The Price is Right was great fun! Unfortunately, many fans were disappointed that the Stage Show did not include Drew Carey and was much different than the TV Show. I would suggest if going to this event, to read the rules, game requirements, etc. to avoid disappointment!

    Poor value for money

by Mcrees on 4/12/16River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Considering that the Venue collected at least a quarter million in ticket revenue on the weekend, not to mention sales of merchandise and the associated gambling and other revenue streams, to give away such pitifully small prizes is frankly inexcusable. The host was great (very funny), the announcer was okay, some of the contestants stole the show, but they could have really put up a lot more for prizes. And don't get excited about being called up. In a venue of 2046 people, there was less than a 1% chance of being called, and then you only get one shot so it's a one-in-four chance of making it to the stage, and THEN you have to contend with the odds of actually winning the game on stage.

    Disappointing

    by EmilyC001 on 4/10/16Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

I thought it would be a little more like the original show. It was strange that if you spun the highest on the wheel you won $250 that's it, you didn't make It to the show case. The show case was the highest level of dissipointment, I didn't like the fact that the only way you could win all the prizes is if you were within $100 of the price. And it was sad that they wouldn't let anyone take pictures because they wanted to make $20 taking the picture for you in front of the wheel. That's a little expensive for a picture.

    Price is right or wrong

    by Lovetotravel25 on 4/9/16Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

The show was better this year than when Jerry Springer hosted it a few years ago at the Riverrock casino in Richmond, but still nothing can beat being at the original show in California. They did not do the showcase show down correctly, it was random selection. Also, to participate in the show, the line up was way too long and went on for hours around the block and it was a very warm day so it's hard on seniors and people with young kids plus you couldn't use the washroom because they're not allowed to open the doors early and the restaurant next door denied access also, so you would have to walk 2 blocks to use the washroom at 7/11 or the Sushibox restaurant (good sushi btw). To avoid the long line, they should allow sign up to be a contestant at the time of purchase of the tickets and then you fill out whatever info they needed online and just pick up the name tag on the day of the event, then the line up wouldn't be an issue just get your name tag at the box office and go instead of standing around to get your turn to fill out information to receive a name tag for a 1 in 400 chance of being selected.

Price is Right Event at the Genesee Theatre

    by mikelake7 on 4/4/16Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

We waited over one hour in cold weather to get what - CHEAP NAME TAG AND PIECE OF PAPER TO WRITE YOUR NAME AND THEN DROP IN A BIG BIN OR BOX FOR DRAWING LATER AT THE SHOW. The production company is using 1950's technology, this needs to be updated. We had to show up 3 hours prior to the event that could have been done on the computer or at the time the ticket was purchased or even at the front door. Again we received a cheap name tag and a piece of paper. The experience got worse as we now had two hours before the theatre opened its doors, every restaurant and bar in the small town of Waukegan was filled with too many people for service. That's left two decisions: 1) Leave and pay parking twice or 2) Sit in the car or stand outside until the doors opened. We decided to sit in the car, wow that was fun! The show itself was average and the prizes were cheap. Theatre was booked to capacity, your chances of being picked were VERY VERY SLIM. This was not a good experience and NOT worth the time and money spent. Why get there 3 hours early and then wait for a low probability of being called "Come on Down" to win a cheap prize or no prize. Also, you must be within $100 to win the big prize, fat chance of that happening to very many people. Save your money for something else. Spend your Price is Right money at the casino.

    Almost like the real thing

by tamluvschicago on 3/15/16Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

This show was so much fun! The atmosphere made me feel as if I was part of the real Price is Right with Drew Cary. Only disappointment was I did not have the opportunity to "come on down" but I was lucky enough to win A Bed, Bath & Beyond gift card. If this show ever appears again in the chicagoland area my spouse & I will definitely buy tickets.

    Price is Right Knockoff

by IndyChic on 3/12/16Star Plaza Theatre - Merrillville

If you love watching the Price is Right, this is a great experience just to say you've done it! It is definitely not the real show, but it was still enjoyable. The main way it differs from the real show is that new contestants are called for each activity (including a random drawing for the showcase showdown at the end). They hire various celebrities to host the game. Ours was am actual game show host from the GSN, but I can't remember his name. Im only giving the show three stars because it was WAAAAAAAY too short! Only one person really won something, and that was just a trip to Vegas. I thought we were having an intermission when the show ended! Lol. They could do so much more, but it was still very cool. They also give out random small Giftcards (ex: $25 Amazon Giftcards) and show video footage of old price is right shows to entertain the audience while transitioning to a different pricing game. Overall, it was nice experience... But way too short of a show & too different from the real show for us to feel lIke paying to come again.

    Fun but cheap prizes

by pricenotright on 3/10/16Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

They do a great job with making it a very fun experience. Like that they picked new contestants every time to allow for more of a chance to be on stage but not impressed with the prizes. Very disappointed with the showcase showdown. The loser got $250 and winner got a motorized bike. I think they should have a better prize for the winner if you are going to give out $250 just for playing

    The Price is Right

    by Patty0969 on 3/8/16Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

My daughters and I had a great time at the show. We had arrived early & I felt the event ran very smoothly from signing up to be a contestant to waiting to be let in for the actual show. The show itself was so exciting, although we weren't called to "come on down" we played along from our seats and would have walked away with a lot of prizes if we'd been called. LOL. Loved the fact that there were so many contestants and gifts cards given out after every game that was played. Would love to see it come back next year - or - sooner....

    Authentic and fun

    by CFD229 on 3/8/16Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

I was expecting a lame theater version of the real show, but was pleasantly surprised! I did not register or get a name tag, so I was not able to come on down or win any audience prizes. Be sure to stand in line and register! Despite that, the audience was rowdy and fun. They came in team shirts and other outrageous baubles. The announcer and host were excellent. The games/props were just like the TV version. The prizes were quality as well.

The Price Is Right Stage Show Wonderful time

    by TinaP2 on 3/8/16Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

We had a really good time even though we weren't called. I like the way that they call the contestants so that it gives more people an opportunity to win. Be forewarned that this is not the TV show and that there are no cameras, Drew is not at this show. We definitely would do this again. Nice venue and it was packed!! (3,300 people from what we heard).

    Price was Wrong

    by NotImpressed27 on 3/8/16Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Not impressed with the Price is Right Live show. I have been to the real show in California and although the games where similar, the way in which the contestants came up where not. Maybe it was to allow more opportunities for contestants, but they decided to have 4 new contestants come up every time a new game was played. Even the showcase showdown was all new contestants. It was very loud and difficult to hear the show from our seats. If you are planning on attending, make sure you get to the venue 3 hours prior to the show in order to be considered a contestant. Not a whole lot of fun otherwise!

    Fun!

by GeneseeTheaterGoer on 3/8/16Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

This sold out show was full of energy and fun. The only problem was that we were told to get there 3 or 4 hours early if we wanted to be registered to participate or win. We weren't able to get there that early, so when we did arrive, we went right to our seats. As we were sitting there waiting for he show to begin, we saw a sign saying that registration is now closed! Too bad they didn't make it known that we could have registered that late. Look for registration no matter when you get there -- you'll have more fun thinking they might call your name!

    The Price is.....

by DancGma on 3/8/16Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

We were very disappointed with our experience. Goes without saying that we never expected to be chosen. No problem with that. But to have to show up THREE hours early just to get a name tag & put a card in the hopper was insane. Then, we had to leave for well over an hour just to come back in to the same theater! IF there was all kinds of places open on Genesee Street to patronize that may be something different.... The show itself was ok. Good that they spread chances out to more people considering how large the theater is. Nice to see games everyone was used to. WWAAAAYYY too much money spent for this event.

Celebrated my Mom's birthday at the Price is Right Live show at the Genesee Theater. It was a blast! We loved it! We wished we would have been picked to be a contestant, but still it was a lot of fun!
